I had the honor of meeting a pack of 4 carnos who were to scared to hunt herbivores so they killed me instead(as a carno). That or they got mad that I ate a frog

to be honest, ive experienced that in plenty of other games as well. im always preferring to play as an opportunist, and its quite angering to see a pack or something that can take down the nearby prey it was previously hunting, only to change its hunting plans and go after me instead, despite the fact i am small and no use as food to the group as a whole. ._.

@@xemiii the creatures in game are balanced for what they are. Carno shouldn’t be hunting stegos and Tenos are the largest prey a carno should be going after. Once they add the other dinos things will feel better. Carno is stronger than it should be because it’s prey isn’t in game, once other things get added carno will be put in its place.
@@splitdragon3004 I agree with this logic, but that leaves another problem; why did they choose the current roster if they don't synergize with eachother? I understand stego was going to be ai so it was likely just rushed in, but I don't understand the others. Why choose carno for the midtier predator? Allo or cerato would've been better as they're supposed to hunt larger animals (like stego) and won't compete with utah as heavily. Dryo was another bad choice as its main gimmick is burrowing, which it lacks right now. Why add dryo if it clearly wasn't done? Hypsi is even worse. It has combined issues of stego and dryo, being a creature that was innitially planned as only ai. It is obvious they rushed it into the game soon afterwards as it doesn't even have its growth stages yet despite all other creatures having them. I'd say even from the start evrima's roster was a red flag, as I feel you can't test or balance much with only two creatures (though utah and teno were good choices
in the context of eachother).
TLDR: The devs should have choosen creatures that are properly balanced with eachother and that will actually interact with eachother at all in the final roster. The devs also need to not add creatures if they're clearly unfinished.
@@xemiii Well thats actually been explained. Carno, stego, teno, utah all have the base mechanics. Carno has knock down and charge and was a prime subject for drifting as one of the fastest dinosaurs. Stego was used to perfect the aimed attacks and penetration, utah was used for the pounce mechanic and being an impale/knockdown test dummy, and teno was used to test multiple attacks in one dinosaur.
Dryo is food and testing the dodging mechanics
And Hypsi is testing aimed attacks with its spit and unique jumping ability.
Carno Stego, Teno, Utah all have the base mechanics and were things they already had available to them, so by using all of them they could easily implement the mechanics onto other dinosaurs in the future.
They could have added Stego and allo, but allo would just be a biter and bleeder without much unique to it. Remember Evrima is NOT a game yet. Its testing and mechanic building
@@splitdragon3004 I can understand why this all makes logical sense, but I'm still not really satisfied with the answer. I don't like the "its not a game yet" excuse because its been almost 3 years for evrima and 7 years for the game as a whole. I expect better with that amount of time.

Herds like this better not become common again because that's the reason so many players whined about herbivores in Update 4 despite it clearly being their numbers and not their overall strength

I starting to believe The Isle devs like herbis, considering how many buffs they give the herbivores and how many nerfs they give the carnivores.
Carno can kill everything wirh ease exept stego and deino. It's literally the most OP thing in the game right now. It can always run away and always catch small things, spam bite and ram teno so it easily kills it.
But I agree stego is too strong at the moment
i came to the opposite conclusion. Dondi almost never shows herbs in streams. The naming of the nutrient system is based on meat components. They lack certain mechanics or have reduced ones like the walk-sent or no footprint sent. They have nothing special to them to make up for that. The devs just seem to buff them to make them more interesting to players or unsuccessfully trying to balance it, which just makes them more of a traget for carni players that are fed up with them. Herbivores imo are supposed to be stronger than carnis. They are supposed to form large packs where you get lucky to kill one of them but then have to disengage. How it is right now that every fight just ends up one side slaughtering the other or everyone slaughtering each other until theres almost no one left is frustrating and toxic (just my opinion, i'm not so much a pvp player). But idk it probably depends on what you play. You always know the shortcomings of the species you play most, the best. I think the whole game is just flawed somehow wich makes it frustrating and unbalanced. Cause if you make herbis stronger they go on a rampage (unless you introduce rule servers)which they should not do and theres no way i can think of to prohibit that within the game.
@@mrspeabody615 I'm only going by what I've seen in the video and a few other Pesky vids. I haven't played Evrima since the ptera came out, so if I played the game again (which I intend to do) I may disagree with with the statement I said before.
Carno feels like it gets lots of nerfs because when it was released it was so overtuned it hurt. Carno on release was nigh unkillable unless it had brain damage. Herbivores rarely receive buffs and when they do it doesn't last long. Carno is still a walking calamity, teno still suffers from asthma, utah is still in buggy hell for the crimes it commit on legacy, pachy is now useless without a friend, stego and deino are still gods among men, and the smalls are still glorified spectator modes. Not much has changed in the way of balance imo. The biggest buff herbivores got was update 4 but then Dondi, in his absolute genius, added the fucking mistake called oasis and that made everyone think the herbis were op.

i think a cool mechanic like carnivores being able to grab their prey by the neck (kinda like how deinos can grab and drown their prey) and doing alot of dmg would be cool or something so if the carnivores do manage to grab a herbie it wont mean instant death for them (the herbi) maybe they could be able to attack when they are being held down but just not do as much dmg. idk i think it might be cool.

17:34 Because Tenonto is slower, has less health, and NEEDS stamina to do any amount of damage, in that fight between you, 3 other carnos and the teno, he killed one of them, then he ran out of stamina, and was completely and utterly helpless, which is total bullshit, there's no overcoming those odds, the teno was completely doomed, no skill involved, and you're complaining that he does too much damage?

I'm a teno main and barely have any hours with carno, despite that I was able to fight 2 tenos back to back and plus a pachy. Carno simply has an edge and after watching a tutorial I was ready to fight. I really don't understand these complaints, like really? Your mad your near equal can kill you if you make too many mistakes? Not to mention all the stuff in your comment.

One time I was in a server chilling as a Deinonychus with some other people, and outta nowhere, about 20-30 stegos come from the hill.
The herd then came down to us, and started 3 calling and 1 calling. We just sat in the water, then about 5 came up to the river, and stabbed us.
Very brutal-they killed 3 of us. (It was a server with free grows)
i mean if they start 3 calling, you might wanna think about swimming away.

Said it once, I'll say it again, it's absolute dog shit that the Tenontosaurus tail slam is garbage for the amount of stamina it costs. Meanwhile the kick does more damage and so much bleed. Logic runs strong with this game.
I mean I'm all for herbivores having good defense against Carno and Utah and whatnot but that's a very stupid way of doing it. Kick overriding Carno charge but not the tail slam? Like you said, it's a joke.
