Im late to the party, but just came across the video and would like to say that your order and orientation of putting the stuff back in was really helpful. Ive always struggled with consistently putting the things back in, and this really helped. thanks dude
Pretty cool huh? The rumor is the kit was originally made along side the rifle, that's why they work so seamlessly together. Would be pretty awesome if the AR had a kit like this.
If you put the cleaning rod through the large hole first at an angle to the small hole, the rods head will be inside the tube and backed by the tube itself for pushing. Then you can also insert the punch through the eye of the cleaning rod while it's inside the tube, put the cap back on to trap it, an now you can twist like a T handle if you need to put some torque on it.
Found one of these in a piece of surplus clothing I ordered online. Very pleasant surprise since I had just gotten an AK prior, glad to have stumbled onto this video!
I ordered an AK74 cleaning kit from Classic and they sent me an AK47 cleaning kit . They just sent me a replacement and it is also an AK47. AK74 shoots a 5.45 mm . The base of the cleaning brush measures 6mm. Jag measures 6.3mm. Check your kit before you try to clean your AK74.
Dude, I just learmed about the tool kit, as I recently got an AK amd been wondering what the trap door hole in the back of the stock is for. Man, thats incredible how that little took kit can do so, so much. I definitely will pick up one of those kits for my Kalashnikov. Auper thanks for the video, its truly helpful. chEErs
So, actually going to use this kit to clean... Do you push the nylon brush in crown first, or chamber first? An instructional video on actually cleaning with the kit would be nice.
The buttstock tube cleaning kit is designed to be used from the muzzle or crown end, not from the chamber end--the cleaning rod is not long enough to use from the chamber end although it could be attempted, but you would have to use the punch to grasp the end of the rod (with the hole in it) to pull it. For regular cleaning when you have access to better tools, a commercial consumer grade rod at least 3 feet long would be better or even a pull through cord.
Excellent descriptive video on cleaning kit functions. Great job! Thanks! Have cleaning kit very similar. Lucky has pin. Stationary jag. All functions same. Case holes are a bit different for scraper/screwdriver. Brush is smaller diameter than 7.62/39 rounds. Likely for 5.45 AK 74? AK's one heck of a rifle! Better than tinker toys & erector sets. Another AK fan, they are great! Love the music too.
Thanks Rosume Mellon, be sure to take a look around at other videos we have put out. Theres a bunch out there. If you like what you see or want to see something specific, join the community and make a request!
I just bought a new Kr103 but it didn't have a cleaning kit. Is there a kit you can recommend that is good quality and has all these tools and features?
I would personally look for a Polish AK cleaning kit. They usually include the slave pin and the jag, brush, punch and pin have a gray finish on the steel. Everything else is black.
Rebel Biker99 unsure, the ak103 primarily used plastic components, so its possible? But you can always interchange the stock for an original wood. OR put it in the grip.
It looks chrome plated, or nickel plated. I personally prefer the Iraqi gold plated ones (given as rewards for valor or just as gifts to high ranking officials).
I have a zastava AK and my cleaning rod wont thread into anything that came with this cleaning kit. Dont know if others have this problem just a warning if you plan on buying one. Do your research
Really!? Literally a million things? how long would the video be if you were to mention every one of those million things? Or maybe its not LITERALLY a million but figuratively.

I thought that I knew the tool kit pretty well but you taught me a lot of new uses. Thank you.
Thanks Redcat94 for being a subscriber...love hearing from you guys!
this was incredibly informative. Time to find the kit in my bag of random parts bin and get to work
Thanks klipherrd for being a subscriber...love hearing from you guys!
My tip is to store the cleaning jag with the rough or ribbed side out so you can grasp it when you first remove the cap.
That's a good idea!
Just bought one to go with my ak more as a collectors item but very glad I stumbled onto this vid

@@G2niverse The full length AR-15/M-16 has a buttstock receptacle for a cleaning kit. The kit has a fabric cover.
this was PERFECT thanks brother majority of people don't know how to use this properly and nice AK your new subscriber from Khyber :-P
Thanks for the sub! I love everything AK...the kit is by far one of the most ingenious tools I have ever come across.
@@G2niverse My Pleasure :-) and yup agreed

Where do I purchase it?
Yikes... yeah good call. They're pretty hard to tell the difference
The SLAVE PIN joins the trigger and DISCONNECTOR (in semiauto versions) together so you can insert them into the receiver as one unit.
You can also use the mag well to remove the top cover and bolt carrier rail to move the gas tube lever.
Zoya Was Here You make a great point!
Excellent informational video!!
Thanks for the tips. I bought the kit a few years ago and just got my Chinese Type 56 and it works!
Thanks GreenLoveBreda for being a subscriber...love hearing from you guys!
I just bought one today with the sling .. Great video!!!!! pretty cool what that can do.
Awesome...yeah they are pretty cool!
I just bought one of these. I don’t love the black polymer stock I have, but hopefully this will make me like it better
Grab yourself a surplus wooden if you want and refurb it... that way you get the trap for for the kit.
Need to make all brass reproduction kits besides the screw driver/wrench
Super Moon You make a great point!
Nice customised AK.
Thank you

wow. my new kr103 has a spot for one of those but it doesn't come with one. it has a cleaning rod though.
Great video. Your cleaning kit tube is quite a bit different than the one for my Maadi.
Thanks for watching!
Dang! They thought of everything! Thanx for a damn good video!
youre welcome, glad you enjoyed
I wonder if an extractor could fit in there
It might...maybe if you put that in first at the bottom??
this feels like forbidden knowledge
Salvador Robb-Chavez WikiLeaks tried to post it, but mother Russia shut it down....just waiting for the FSB to show up at my house.
Omg...really good information 🤯
Thank you Señora 🙏🏽
You are so welcome ED V.
senora means lady, the a at the end in Spanish gives a feminine connotation to the subject
señor = gentlemen
Señora = lady

Does that cleaning kit fit inside the magpul grip ??
no it wont...about .5" too long
Thank you! I probably would have never known about all these uses for this cleaning kit so again thank you. Subbd
I was searching of my dad's old bag fom army and I found the same thing.

Any surplus ak cleaning kit will get it done
I would personally look for a Polish AK cleaning kit. They usually include the slave pin and the jag, brush, punch and pin have a gray finish on the steel. Everything else is black.
Big question, does the ak103 have the option to put itin the stock?
Rebel Biker99 unsure, the ak103 primarily used plastic components, so its possible? But you can always interchange the stock for an original wood. OR put it in the grip.
@@G2niverse thanks!
does the sight windage adjusting function really work?
Sure does... not as precise as an actual tool, but in a pinch, it will work. Especially if its a little stuck.
I think your barrel is drooping if its not the camera being weird
Lol def the camera. That rifle is dead nuts at 150 yds and in.
That’s a nice looking ak, how do you get that nice silver finish?
By not painting it?
It looks chrome plated, or nickel plated. I personally prefer the Iraqi gold plated ones (given as rewards for valor or just as gifts to high ranking officials).
My kit came thread stripped, NEW! Even with 2 channel lock wrenches I can’t get the f**king cap off! Know where to get a replacement? 🙏
You try a soak of wd40 or pbblaster. I'm sure it's rusted.
@@G2niverse yep. You can see how the cap is sitting sideways on the threads. It turns about 1/8” but no more🥵
Who knew you could do so much with 3.5 inches
No woman would ever believe it
and the tube I think it’s Whistle 😄
Lol
How to disassemble and clean your ak with your ak
It's a beautiful thing

Those Yugos loved to do everything different! A poke in the eye to Stalin
Damn that rifle looks chrome AF
Does it work for an SKS?
Pretty much the exact same kit...
A piece of old skivvy shirt around the jag works better.
Anthony Maxim You make a great point!
What is the story with your stunning AK there? Where can I get one?!? Lol
That was a build I did about 10 years ago from a Bulgarian demilled kit. Matte chromed the parts.
@@G2niverse I think I need one... Do you do that for other people?
I do not. Havent gotten into replating.
Love the underfolder, shame about the furnishings !!!🤮

why get a chrome plated akm?
Rust resistant and blingy!
Lol mine came with everything but the multitool
