My aunt's stepbrother is Josh. I've heard him talk about the Knot several times and he usually states that he didn't like the producers telling him how to play his instrument. I got a picture with him when my cousin was born. He has been in many bands since and says he wants the ability to make music sound good with a bunch of different sounds (like MFKR was). This is what he has done in other bands of his. He has a platinum record in his bathroom from their self-titled.
Apparently, he received no royalties from Slipknot, for which he could've sued, but money appears not to be important to him. And yes, he still lives in Iowa. I saw him about a month ago over last New Year's Eve. He got to go to Paul's funeral (which he mentioned Sid crashed as no Slipknot member was invited) but also doesn't listen to Slipknot ever. He wasn't aware of the trash they dropped a few months ago.

Usually people that OD on heroin either have no real opioid tolerance and do way too much, or they have a huge tolerance and can’t even afford their habit without stealing, pawning, begging, etc. I’ve known my fair share of heroin addicts in my life, and the only ones that died did so after being clean for months so they no longer had a tolerance, that or they did speedballs but usually in that case it’s the burst of cocaine that makes your heart explode.

There are people who say he recorded Me Inside, but that was also done by Josh. This is proven by the fact that Me Inside is on the rough mix version of the self-titled album that leaked a while back. That version of the album was put together the day before they went on Christmas break, and the guitar tracks on the version of Me Inside on the rough mix version is 100% identical to the version that ended up on the S/T re-release.

Sometimes members leave of their own accord, but usually because the label has completely changed the bands sound. It’s a business.
