  • I literally didn't get a single comment or dislike from all 2 of my subscribers about forgetting to tear this apart in my last video.

Useful video thanks, I need to bypass one which is broken and throwing fault codes until I can replace the reservoir, so knowing that what looks like a 70 ohm resistor is in line will really help thanks.

A multi tool would have been a better demo tool.

Awesome! I've been troubleshooting a brake warning indication on my Chevy HHR for the last two days. Checked the fluid level and parking brake sensor. Started looking at the brake fluid sensor. I'm old school and was expecting a float in the cap! When I saw the sensor at the bottom of the reservoir, figured I'd have to empty it to change it. A few videos set me straight on how it pops out. But HOW does it work while having no contact with the brake fluid? Ultrasonic, capacitive, or what?
Your video completely cleared things up for me. Troubleshooting the magnetic float(I assume) and sensor(simple reed switch with current limiting resistor) should be easy from this point on.
    Thanks!

Hey Dean, I hope this finds you! I am actually hunting down the same brake light issue on my daughters Saturn ion, which I’m understanding has very similar underpinnings as the hhr. I’m very curious if you found anything with the sensor issue? I’ve checked the ebrake switch, jumped out the fluid level sensor plug and tried accessing the float in the master cylinder to move it up or down w/o coming up with anything. Let me know if you figured it out, if I could find a sensor I may just order it to try, but I cannot locate an upper m/c reservoir that houses the float so I’m over here scratching my head

What is "tales from the round file", and whatever it is, could you please put that at the end of video titles instead of the beginning so that when youtube truncates the title and leaves only the first X # of characters, we can still see enough video relevant text to know more what the video is about? Thanks, and thanks for the videos.

Thanks for taking the time to share . Was the sensor defective ? Is there any test available ?
