  • Steamed Fish - Chinese Style
    Quick & simple steam fish at home
    Preparation time: 5min
    Cooking time: 15mins
    Whole fish: 2pcs if small or any fish of your preference which can fit the steamer. You can use slice fish also
    Recommended: seabass, grouper, snapper
    Ingredients:
    Ginger - 4cm slice thinly into julienne
    Tomato -1pc cut into 8 wedges
    Garlic - 2-3cloves slice thinly
    Light soya sauce - 1 tablespoon (agak agak)
    Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
    White pepper - few shakes
    Salt - a pinch
    Water
    Garnish- spring onion or Chinese coriander
    Fish preparation:
    Clean and make slices on fish body to aid in cooking time and flavours to go in.
    Cover fish with all ingredients and steam
    Fish is cooked when the eyes pop out
    Sprinkle the spring onion garnish and ready to serve

    I love this recipe! Thank you for this video. Instead of using soy sauce, I used fish sauce instead as soy replacement.

      You can use any whole fish which you can get at ur nearest market. I recommend seabass, red grouper, snapper, threadfin, etc.. doesn’t really matter

    No need to take out the fish smell water first?

      The fish is washed already & there shouldn’t be any fish smell if it’s fresh.

      @@michellechuah37 the sauces will balance everything out. Hope it goes well for you. I don’t throw away the fish water you are referring to if my understanding is correct. Another method you may want to try is to steam the fish first, throw away the water then pour the sauce over. You can refer to another video I made for steamed Hong Kong fish
