Nothing has an infinite lifespan and the sad reality is these trains working lives are over *SIMPLE AS THAT* and these trains are old and need replacing, and whingeing that _"their too good for scrap/they could last another 25 years"_ will fall on deaf ears
@@BoomTrainspots The 800's could have been built better, but the HST are over 40 years old and probably riddled with rust. Nothing lasts for ever. The Class 91's are over 30 years old. Some are being retained by LNER for services to Leeds and York. None will run North of York.
Mk4s?!? Surely they have plenty of life left in them, especially being fully prm compliant
Superb compilation Kai! Loving the locations :)
Thanks Toby!
some very good captures here. most enjoyable. thank you
Thanks Keith!
5:53 what model of PEP did that come from?
That is a class 317 which is based on the Mk3 carriages. It's not from the PEP design. The last one from the PEP design was the class 315
@@gfgfgf466 I think he is talking about the very pep style baggage thing
Excellent Kevo!
I love your video. and have a happy Christmas
Thanks very much, you too!
Could you tell me what the purpose of the unmarked blue/green carriages at the end of a lot of these scrap trains is please?
It will be like. 321, 317, 142 "LET ME GO RIGHT NOW! I DONT WANT TO GET SCRAPPED!" Class 37 66 and 57 "NO!"
That’s excellent
Lovely video Kai! Sad to see them goo
Thank you! Indeed it is
There has been an unbelievable amount of rolling stock heading for scrap recently. 332s, 317s, 321s, LNER stock, GWR stock, 142s.

@@Keithbarber I agree. The 317's for example are 40 years old.
Nice vid
Cheers Kev
THe trouble is.....the comfort of the passenger has gone downhill............am i right.......!
some of the new trains are not as comfortable
This is one of the saddest videos I have ever seen😔
They should be scrapping the 800s, not the HSTs & 91s.
the saddest day will be if they scrap 444s or 450s :(
Yeah😭

@@mjcats2011 Funny though, the locos hauling them are mostly older than that - Class 50 and 37 for instance?
They had to go they were rotten with rust and they were not energy efficient newer trains accelerate and break better thus shortening journey times
