Interesting footage. It appears perverse to move the unit from Birkenhead to Newport and then by road to Derby. A rail move straight to Derby would seem more logical but I suppose the railways move in strange ways!

7:01 That reminded of last Class 315 units (837 + 857). I thought 507 001 is being preserved! Is that video make you think last two unit: 029 + 001 going to scrapped? I will look at WiKi! But I didn’t understand why of AC (rare of 313, 314, 315) units’ rear lights always on while drag by diesel locomotives than DC (313, 507, 508) units’ rear lights didn’t on (extra flash engineer headlight on).

The question 🙋‍♀️ is that is the 3 car class 507029 being scrapped at the scrapyard? I’ll honestly have to find out on the Today’s Railways 🚆 🚃 UK 🇬🇧 - United Kingdom 🇬🇧 magazine when I buy the March 2025 issue 277 costing around £5.95 in W H Smith, Barnstaple, southwest of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. It’s unsure 🤷‍♀️ 🧐 🫤 if class 507001 is being preserved or not so let’s perhaps 🤔 hope so 🤞, fingers crossed 🤞. I honestly like 👍 ❤️ trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 and I’m obsessed 😍 🤩 with them. I suppose it perhaps 🤔 feels sad 😔 😞 😢 that class 507s and 508s are already gone to the scrapyard is because they were such good 👍 😊 😌 trains 🚊 🚆 🚂 however they’ve previously been replaced by the 4 car class 777s. Rest in peace 🪦 class 507s and 508s. 👍

507001 was being preserved anyway. Hopefully some of the others can be rescued, but I doubt it. Always good to think positive, though...

It's a line well worth a visit, well maintained engines, friendly staff and lovely scenery
