1: In order to built a team around him as he wants will take at least 2 seasons. By that time he will be at least 67 if not 68 (keep in mind his anti-competition clause).
2: He has bought a hugely expensive sailship (Oyster 885) which is meant to go sail the world and he means to do so.
3: At a certain age no matter how thrilling the job is a person wants to challenge himself in something new. And usually that's something completely different from what someone did for the last 30 or so years.
4: The family (usually the spouse) will ask/demand more attention in regards to the homefront instead of moving to a new country with a different language. The whole thing of resettling at that age does not usually appeal when you're at that age.

I feel like every time the Horner situation is brought up, the insinuation is that something was happening that wasn’t brought to light but I think the reality is that Newey saw the immediate power struggle and if he sees/saw this as family, he likely doesnt want to be apart of the family tearing itself apart for someone to consolidate more power within the team… it sort of seems like it’s falling apart since Dietrich passed away (ironically seems like Mercedes went down hill after Niki passed away - not instantly but once faced with a battle Niki wasn’t there to help)

All I hear is Brits speculating. Hurt Brits. Racist Brits who hate non-British people such as Max Verstappen and Checo Perez. Besides that, Newey is 65 and has been with Red Bull for almost two decades. He's done more than plenty. And he's not the only person in the team. He doesn't do it all on its own.

The rumor started with auto, motor und panzerwagen, so it's most likely Toto's desperate attempt to take revenge on Horner.

If we're talking about Newey ticking things off his bucket list, building a yacht for America's Cup would certainly be top of his list. He makes it very clear in his book, numerous times that he wants to do that and even had provisions for it written into his red bull contract.

I kinda feel like it’s also the fact that RB have made his role smaller over the years. They almost put him on full leave for the road car projects…. I wonder if he WANTED that or not

It seems that in the Italian paper, the deal has already been signed with Ferrari. I believe this is a significant and positive step, marking a great finish to one's career, particularly considering Ferrari's extensive history and Formula 1 involvement.
