I rode this bike on a pretty hot day in Australia (32 degrees) and the engine was roasting me in less than 10 minutes. Do you find this bike runs very hot, or was it just the conditions I was in?
Fitted some ohlin rear shocks to mine (simple straight swap over) same as ones fitted on breitling special edition and now rear is planted and fully adjustable 👌
I always recommend changing the shocks before thinking about spending the money on an exhaust that will only get a minor change to the bike. The rest of the bike is well sorted, but the budget shocks are a let down. Even the TEC Bikeparts versions offer far more adjustability and a better than stock ride on a budget. The Ohlins are better valved and offer the ability to be serviced in the future, but at a much higher initial price.
I'm on a Trident 660 but I've really got a hankering to test ride one of these as a possible next bike. Absolutely love the look of the black one of these.
I have test rode a few bikes lately but this bike knocked spots off all of them….. I took delivery of a brand new one this morning. I’ve only done 70 miles today but I can’t find any probs with the rear shocks, maybe the 4k revs running in limit is contributing so I haven’t pushed them to their limits. But what a bike it is 😀
I have the brown quilted comfort seat and that is Very comfortable. Agreed on the rear shocks. And for its price the preload adjustment Should have been easy to adjust with an easy to access screw-thingymajig
Hi Dan, I saw you at Blackbushe last Tuesday, but sadly was in a pre-flight briefing and unable to escape....nooooo! Next time!! Great video, as always!
On the stock mufflers, the dB killers slide out. You need to just break the little spot weld they put on the retaining screw, remove the screw and slide the baffles out... Just like you would on an aftermarket muffler.
Took one for a ride yesterday, very impressed goes surprisingly fast. Cracking bike would buy one asap but alas no fittings for luggage. Has anyone overcome this minor problem?

Hi Dan, fine review again. You’re flying through the subscriber numbers now..well deserved! I’ve just returned from the ABR Festival..did you manage to visit too?
How we talk about torque is wrong. I learn practically nothing about a bike when told its peak torque is X at 7,000 RPM. I want to know what Torque is at 4,000 RPM. I suggest we adopt a new way of describing it. Peak Torque of X at Y RPM, and Z Torque at 4K RPM, or perhaps 80% of available at Z RPM. Horsepower is fine as is. Thoughts?
@@JoLXP in a perfect world, but they don't exist until somebody dynos one. If the manufacturers adopted a standard, such as peak at X RPM, 80% peak at Y RPM, that'd be something.
3 disappointments in mine: 1. You have to remove the sprocket cover to add coolant. What were they thinking? 2. Turn sigs aren't self-cancelling. 3. Kickstand rests between the peg and the shifter. You need a microscope to find it.
Hmm, personally no. Great bike but if I had the Street Triple I'd be looking at something very different. Check out the Street Scrambler. I have a video coming soon on it. 👍

The Z900 RS looks nearly as good as the speed twin, big props to Kawasaki for building an excellent looking bike, especially at its price point.
