I’m glad I’m not the only one. This game won me over. It’s super linear, super contrived, does absolutely nothing new, but it’s just a simple straightforward game about cartoonishly grizzled cowboys punching the shit out of vampire monsters and it doesnt try to be anything else. Its short and sweet, a bit broken and janky, but I had a lot of fun with it.

It was the most average game I think I've ever played, so average in absolutely everyway. Combat was fun until you figure out that if you get the right skills you can do nothing but lightning dash enemies repeatedly to rapidly build up your super ability and then just clear everything out. If there isn't boss enemies you don't even have to dodge, the lightning punch combo makes you immune to stuns and almost every enemy drops health so you can just heal through everything, on normal at least. Very boring

I believe that this game is proof that the PS3 wave of nostalgia is here. I remember the early 2010s being NES/SNES mid 2010s being 64/PS1 and late 2010s being PS2/Xbox. According to the pattern, in 3 or so years time, it will be time for the PS4/Xbone nostalgia, but those consoles are only just starting to die off and they're not even that different from the newest ones.

Yahtzee Croshaw, once more in credits text showing off just what fine tastes he has. Watching the 2004 Van Helsing movie just for Richard Roxburgh's Dracula performance is actually my winter holiday ritual and I commend anyone else who appreciates it even a tiny bit as much as I do.

When I first saw the game, I was excited for it. Then when I played it, I realized it was a ghost train ride and a brawler (that made me have to take breaks from mashing left click so hard). It's still fun and worth the money because for me, it wasn't glitches on launch and things rendered fine.

The best way to review a game. Put game in, turn on and play for a little bit. Having fun? Keep playing. Doesn't need a lot of deep thought, There is a reason it is called a game. And I had a lot of fun with this one.

Only the former has grizzled white guys who rub balls on the chins of their enemies while spouting cringy one-liners, while the latter has grizzled white guys who philosophize on the morality of rubbing ballsacks on the chins of enemies while spouting cringy comedic quips. With a side kick that's a child or a protégé of some sort.
