FYI Sorry I stuffed up the Aspect Ratio again! it was my error, I initially thought due to the old footage it would automatically be 4.3 AR, not realising when it was recently broadcasted again it was rendered to 16.3. This was brought to my attention again on my RUclips channel after I’d done the conversion. So I was happy to just go with it as it nicely fits a mobile screen. Going forward I’ll be more aware to check the differences beforehand. I have been alerted to this error over many years, though being an amateur in this area it took a long time for the penny to completely drop. 😄👍
Omg it's SO surreal looking at this in 2022 now. It feels so relatable even till to watch until you realize that time has moved on. That's the problem with any remaining soap dramas we have now, they're now longer relatable or too far fetched in the genre to be relatable now. I'll be honest I wasn't a Son's & Daughters watcher but I can definitely appreciate the series more now. Thanks for this upload..
Noticed a Datsun 1600 in the first scene, what a great car they were, Wheels Car of the Year in 1972. I near destroyed mine in the 80's getting drunk and rally driving. I tried to jump a large creek Dukes of Hazzard style for a bet, but came up short and had to get towed out by a farmer who charged me $200 a fortune at the time) for being an idiot.
Leaving out the obvious. Early shots Mills St Danks St cnr Middle park up to 0:50. 1:33 Clarendon St Park St cnr South Melb and Clarendon St shops, shows Limerick Arms hotel. 2:33 Top end of Glenferrie Rd? 2:40 Chapel St Toorak Rd cnr showing the old South Yarra Arms and Fun Factory. Is 2:52 Clermont St Toorak Rd cnr Sth Yarra? XD Falcon, tops. Thanks Gezza

I keep reminding myself that looking at 1982 Melbourne from 2022 is like looking at 1942 Melbourne from 1982. It’s quite simply another era!
Yet, it was like yesterday
I know which era I'd prefer to live in.
I was in Mills Street just yesterday and it looks basically the same except for the cars of course. And me driving a car, not riding my BMX!!!
@@craigmartin5939 Ha! Was it a Mongoose with Shimano? I hope you were wearing your Stackhat! 😊
@@nexus_plexus mongoose and I also had a Shimano mountain bike!
I loved Melbourne in the 80’s. ❤
Great video, thanks for sharing. 👍
Mid 80's, the perfect mix of W and Z class trams, take me home to old Melbourne town ⚡
CNR Mills and Danks Street, Middle Park. And Darling Street, South Yarra! Ponochios Pizza Toorak Road!
The old tram sound ❤️

Cool footage Gezza👍. Sons & Daughters eps are on 72 in the afternoon lately ive noticed
I didn't realise that Sons & Daughters was actually filmed in Melbourne as well. I thought it was only filmed in Sydney.
Found out recently both Kurt👍
@Gezza1967 Very interesting that a TV show in Australia can be filmed in both cities.
Melbourne was ok in the 80s now its unliveable.only the people on the radio say melbourne is the most liveable city in the world. What a joke
I recognised a few and i was born in the 90's
Any footage of Essendon and surrounding areas?
Northcote? St.kilda? Prahran ? South Yarra?
