My advices can be no longer valid as last time I played it was an old version (no upgrades, no genomes and such, trading was weird), but what I learned is you really dont need to loot completely everything until late game when even basic items become VERY expensive (Im talking over 5000 for just a bulb), just take the packs of items or the absolutely needed stuff. Second - since you dont really need to loot hard just check those terminals for safe and fast route (feel free to charge them with your batteries), its completely normal to arrive on the last floor half empty. Getting missions done gives good relation with a faction which will benefit you more than tons of loot and dead operative right in the end (weight is really important for hit evasion chance). Third one (you probably know it but ones you start giving advices it gets hard to stop) - if passage is blocked by acid/venom/fire you can quickly chop someone for heart and throw it to replace those liquids (yes, I just called fire a liquid) with just blood. Fourth - try those small rounds, they are quet fun actually (especially the nakhjir dmr) Fifth - use run and gun, it works great with shotguns and melee. Switch to running, get around the corner, shoot and go back in one turn. And the last one - pick your favorite faction(s) (i usually go for 2 max) as soon as possible. Also get those damn poppies - morphine is fun and you get naloxone like everywhere to remove addiction (I didnt even bother taking one from the start)
Sorry for such a scroll to read. This game actually gets hard and I really had a need to ease someones life learning useful details. And remember kids - loosing is fun in this game (or not, but you will die a lot anyway)

GO FRANK GO.
You should create a new save and instead of playing, you just fast forward until the factions advance their tech so you can see which unlocks what
