I think it was your videos that introduced me to Space Station, and I started with 14 due to it not being an unapproachable process to get it, and now it's come full circle where you are the one bumbling around 14 while I know how things work.

@JediMasterYoda66 To be fair, SS13 has much more players, and the content significantly outweighs ss14, also movement can be hard to use for ss13 players. Game has extreme potential in the future however, since it runs much better. At the moment, ss13 beats it for content, the controls simply take a few games to get used to for ss13.

I love Space Station 14 man. Such a great game, such a great community. It isn't anywhere near as fully featured at 13 yet, but it has made tremendous strides in the short time that it's been out and the changelogs just keep rolling in. Starting as a passenger with no responsibilities is great for initially feeling out the game. Would recommend reading the guidebook a bit though so you have a better chance to defend yourself from critters/nuclear operatives/syndicate agents/unfunny clowns though.

@@agustron2479 If you have a problem with them, you can just not go on their servers. Game is completely open source, they can't control or force anyone to do anything of of the servers they run. They don't control the entire game.
@@gravynavy516 the contrast with 13: x5 better optimization, sounds and graphics arent crusty af so easier to understand the screen, MUCH better chat. 14 is behind in content and mechanical depth but as long as you are not a space wizard, you will barely notice it on regular mode (crew station)
I have been around the ss13 space for a long time. 14 needs more time in the oven but its cool that you get to see some tg style code. There are a lot of different codebases beside goon, I always suggest exploring them!
You'd be surprised to learn how playable SS14 actually is nowadays, it's nowhere close to 13 but their progress is absolutely nothing to scoff at either. It's at a point that it's honestly pretty hard to tell there's features missing unless you played SS13 and that's exactly their fanbase, people who doesn't care about SS13. I'd love seeing CHARBORG play on Monke tho.

my favorite experience with ss14 has got to be when me and my fellow botanist both went insane after our room alone lost power. We literally set up our botany outside in the hall so our plants wouldn't die
@CHRBRG i would recommend switching the chat layout to separated, the next time you play, helps a lot with keeping track of whats going on in the chat and radio 👍👍 also just looks better imo

Last vent moster hell round I had was all xenos, I was a chemist so I decided to quadruple out biomass reclaimer setup, we still had a massive corpse pile problem the air became full of ammonia and the janitor could not even begin to clean all the acid blood. We had to have atmos overhaul the room air system. We had a ninja emag in, he backed off after seeing the corpse and acid pile... One heck of a round, sec was having more fun than us.

14 is a remake with less content, but a lot less janky. 13s code sucked and required a lot but 14 requires a toaster and an internet connection.
