  • After being at school for a week, I take a visit to see what is new in the shop. The Hagie STS10 got brought down from winter storage into the heated shop to be serviced, the White 6180 planter got put back together, and the Massey Ferguson 4880 received some finishing repairs. The John Deere 4840, the planter tractor, had a GPS guidance system installed in it as well as a row-shutoff module. We are excited to see how much this technology will help boost the efficiency of our farm.
We wanted to get the Freightliner semi brought home, cleaned up, and hooked onto the sprayer tanks. The Freightliner had a dead battery, so we ran a few errand while it was on the battery charger. I power-washed the grain trailer and brought it back over to the main farm. After having troubles with the trailer jacks, we tucked the trailer away in the big machine shed.
I stayed up way later than I should have helping my friend change the oil in his car, as well as flush the transmission fluid in his car. It was quite the learning process for both of us. Since I was up super late, I decided to clean the shop before I went to bed. I ended up staying in the shop until 3:00 a.m. and then I passed out. Dad will give you a recap about what happened!
Dad gives out life advice, as well as advice for longevity. I finally woke up and got the sprayer cab cleaned out, sent the 4880 over to the farm to hook up to the reel disc, the shop cleaned up, the planter unfolded and inspected. I also finally got the snowmobiles loaded and put in their summer vacation home as well!

I was raised by my Grandmother on her horse farm. I was her sole caregiver when she was going through cancer. She past in 2016. It was great to hear Daddy Cornstar's words. Very inspiring. I am so sorry to hear the news about Grandpa Cornstar.

Cole you are the hardest working guy i know of. Most guys your age are burning both ends playing video games! Instead you are actually living life, keeping things clean and continuing a legacy that your great grandparents started! So impressed with your work ethic and diligence.

I'm 60 years old and I remember farming with my pop til he passed in 95. Rode beside him in the combine and on the tractors from a very young age. Learned a lot about farming, life and trusting God. He loved the Lord and always gave Him thanks. I am a lucky man to have been blessed with a pop like my pop. I miss him a lot

I though my father hung the moon. What a wonderful man he was and I'm kind of lost to be honest. I even lost my 20+ years old cat in between my parents. Thank God for my husband, son and DIL.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad and the boys grandpa. I'm glad you got to spend time with him like you did instead of having to worry about the farm. My Dad was a teacher after he retired from playing for the LA Dodgers. He had to drive 60 miles 1 way everyday for 43 years so my mom, brother and myself could have more opportunities for school and sports. He retired and 5 months later his appendix and leaked into his stomach cavity for 3 days until he realized it wasn't a kidney stone and got very lucky he didn't die it took 3 years to get him home and back on his feet to be able to take care of himself at home while my mom worked. 3 months after he finally was able to do stuff he found out he had stage 4 stomach cancer. I moved my family to there house so I could take care of him so my mom could keep working. About 2 months before he found out about his cancer my youngest son was born with a whole in his heart and instead of surgery the doctor wanted to see if it was going to fix it self but he wasn't allowed to cry because the hole would fill his lungs with blood. So between taking care of my Dad 24/7 and having to keep a close eye on my son it was the hardest and longest 4 months of my life with minimal sleep. My Dad got to see his grand kids everyday which helped him alot. My Dad started to get really bad very quickly at the end there and somehow he didn't die on my Mom's birthday and died at 12:01 am the next day. I learned from my parents growing up that you never leave the house upset with your loved ones because you never know if you will ever get to see them again or talk to them again. If they fought the night before about something it was done and over with by the next more no matter what. My mom would wake up with my dad every single day at 4:00 am to make his lunch and walk him out to the car for 43 years even though she didn't have to be up until 6:00 am to get ready for work. Taking care of my dad when he was so sick was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life but I'm so glad that it was my mom and I doing it at home and not a some hospice care center.

We never want are loved one's to go through something like this and it's really hard to deal with but watching my Dad's pain get so bad that nothing seemed to help him near the end of his life that I was crushed when he died but happy that he wasn't in the extreme pain anymore. I didn't want to lose him but it hurt me more to watch him suffer from the pain he was going through.

Only had it in one year before we upgraded tractors to an 8130 and also upgraded from waas to rtk so we could do more jobs instead of contracting it out. Was used mainly for tillage and some wheat planting as we didn’t have a cotton planter at the time, our crops are wheat and cotton, and did great.

@@ColeTheCornstar well...with two 16 row planters and 50ft field cultivators...doesn't take long...but yes, seems super quick this year. You will love auto-steer... expensive...but makes things so much easier. We have it on everything. I can Remember field cultivating and it would be dusty and the light is just right and you can't even see the angle that you're trying to go by with auto steer you just push a button and it does it for you. Straight as an arrow. Gives you time to watch RUclips videos also 😂

Good video, Cole and Dad. I lost my father from a massive hear attack at 36, he was 57. Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic cancer January 2008 and she passed May 2009. She was only expected to live 6 months...maybe. She actually took herself to Chemo 95% of the time by herself. Only got sick the first 2 visits. Did very well until the last month...but we were able to keep her 98% pain free. It sucks, though. I was with a friend at 16 who drown. I couldn't get him out the water. I held on to him long after he was gone...I let him go, got out the water, broke into a house, called the sheriff first, called home second. That was in 1976...there are not many days, especially if it's a difficult one, that I don't think about it. You never know what you will be asked to endure. You never get over loss, you learn how to live with it. Dad Cornstar, I understand. I usually saw my parents every day...I lived beside them in my Mom's parents home. She lived with me for 7 years before her death. I am glad I was given that gift...she gave me advice...not orders.

@@ColeTheCornstar After what your Dad said, I simply wanted to say that bad crap happens. There really are not words to describe things...I have 2 aunts left...my last "great" aunt passed a few months ago..stomach cancer. She was 94...and took care of herself for the most part. I made it to VA for Christmas...and spent several hours with her...had a light lunch...her Devine deviled eggs and fruitcake. It was 700 miles one way. OMG, I thought I was gonna die. Cole...it us just life...which can sometimes push you to the limit. I think you are a great guy...and you have a great support system...your Dad and brother.

When you're driving the beast down the road always keep an eye on your mirrors lol obviously you aren't driving down busy roads but there's always some asshole that comes out of no where that isn't paying attention to the road. I drive semi for a living and anytime I take little roads that's where I always get the ppl not paying attention to my blinkers. Stay safe out there and keep bringing us new content. And glad your dad shared about his dad. Shows that you and your family are close and aren't just making videos to become famous. I lost my best friends dad february of 2017 then my grandpa to cancer in march of 2017 and then my uncle to cancer in april of 2017 and sadly lost my father in august of 2017. A strong close family is the best family.
