What city for 600-700usd? Is it still cheap?
@Anomaly66666, There is no set cost of living for everyone. The fact that one person can live on a certain amount does not mean that another person can live on that amount. The only way to know what your expenses would be is to go there and pick where you are going to live, eat, drink, and entertain yourself and add it all up. Hi Iam in Thailand been here since March stuck here like you, things are good and am happy, but I have a girlfriend in Cambodia and have found company here in the meantime so itโs a tricky situation, there must be many people in the same situation due to the virus especially travellers like myself!

paul g It is open but you need a COVID check 72 hours before and health insurance $50,000 but the borders are closed, and at the moment if I left Thailand it is almost impossible to get back into

I have been to Philippines few times, and every time I was going to local places not like Jolibee, decent portion of pancit, banana turon cost me 65-75 peso, compare to 105-128 in Jolibee or Chowking
That is true all over the world. Plus you can manage quality better.
Yes. Things are a little better in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. But you may need to fly to Saigon or Bangkok for some things.

I wonder if you 2 are still in the Philippines and if you are both OK. This virus scare seems to be going on and on. Here in Chiang Mai many businesses have closed leaving many vacant buildings along Nemminhemmin Road. One wonders if that area will ever make a come back. Downtown Chiang Mai in the old city there are more tourist businesses still open but many are gone. The local businesses are mostly open and darn glad to have customers. My girlfriend and I are very glad we decided to stay here as the country went into lock down. She has 2 full time photography jobs and I have my rock polishing equipment here and our newly rebuild swimming pool. Best wishes to both of you!

As an American who would like to relocate to Southeast Asia - thanks, in large part, to your videos - I have a question I'm hoping you can answer. If one country opens its borders to Americans, and I were to go there for three months (or however long the visa allows), would I then be able to cross the border to another country that's still closed off to flights from America? Or would I be kept out because I have an American passport, and then be left with no choice but to return to the U.S.?
If and when you can go to Cambodia (when they lift the Coronavirus restrictions) and get a visa, you will be able to renew your visa over and over without having to do a border run. I lived there for nine years.
Nobody really knows Becingu. Things are changing too fast. We are in the Philippines but have been here since March 2020 (borders closed now). However, I think that I could go to a few embassies here in the Philippines and I bet a few countries would buy this argument. "We have been here in Philippines for 6 months. We should be treated only as dangerous as any other Filipino living here the last six months rather than be treated as an American." But nobody knows for sure.
