  • Welcome back everyone to another episode of the Honeymoon Diaries series!
We’re leaving the beautiful city of Kyoto and heading south to the vibrant and underrated Fukuoka! 🌸 If you’re planning a trip to Japan, don’t sleep on Fukuoka-it’s a city full of surprises, from peaceful temples to quirky shopping spots and incredible city views. We spent a few days exploring all the hidden gems this city has to offer, and we’re excited to take you along with us!
Our first stop is the CoCo Curry near our hotel-because what’s a trip to Japan without indulging in this perfect bowl of comfort food? 🍛 We went for our favorite combo: mild curry with veggies and fluffy eggs, drizzled with a bit of honey for that sweet kick. We’re already dreading the day we won’t have CoCo Curry in Austria!
Next, we dive into Don Quijote Nakasu, and let me tell you, it’s like stepping into a chaotic wonderland. 🛍️ Imagine five floors of random, quirky items you never knew you needed-from funky gadgets and souvenirs to snacks you can’t find anywhere else. It’s like a treasure hunt! If you’ve never been to Don Quijote, this vlog gives you a peek into one of Japan’s craziest shopping experiences.
After that whirlwind, we slow things down with a visit to the Tochoji Temple. This hidden gem is located right in the heart of Fukuoka but still feels like a peaceful escape from the city hustle. Inside, we were blown away by one of Japan’s largest seated Buddha statues-it’s absolutely massive and awe-inspiring. It’s surprising more people don’t talk about this place!
Then, we make our way to Nanzoin Temple, and this is where Fukuoka truly stole the show. Nanzoin is home to one of the world’s largest reclining Buddha statues, and seeing it in person was incredible. 🧘 The temple grounds are serene and surprisingly uncrowded, giving us time to really soak in the atmosphere. This was hands-down one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we’ve visited in Japan.
Of course, no trip to Fukuoka is complete without a visit to Hakata Station. 🚉 But as we’ve learned, train stations in Japan are more than just places to catch your train-they’re like mini shopping malls with everything from food stalls to souvenir shops. We wandered around the station, grabbed some last-minute goodies, and realized just how much we’re going to miss the convenience of places like this when we head home.
Finally, we ended the day with the best views of the Fukuoka skyline. 🌇 Watching the sunset over the city was bittersweet-seeing Fukuoka from above reminded us of how special this place is, but it also marked the end of our time in Japan. We’re definitely going to miss this city!
But don’t worry-the adventure isn’t over yet! Next, we’re heading to Seoul for the final leg of our honeymoon, and we can’t wait to share that with you too.
See you next time in the next episode of our Honeymoon Diaries!!!
