I carried this as my light of choice for almost two years. The clip is an easy fix, the raven concealment pocket clip and thyrm switchback both fit it easily, you're spending some extra money, but I consider it a worthy investment. Output wise, it doesn't have as much throw as I'd like, I've found streetlights to be a constant issue when carrying, particularly if I'm between battery changes. I recently moved away from them in favor of a HLX usb because a) I wanted more output, and b) I was tired of burning money on cr123s.
Actually lower outputs with bright lux rating like Surefire G2X LE are better, low output but when you compare it to other 1000 lumens light they are just almost similar, Surefire's computation is a bit underrated, they are not all about lumens, they are into the lux rating and that means the runtime is longer compare to higher output lights. G2X LE vs G2X MV, MV's output is double the LE's output, but I'll still go for LE for the balanced beam and runtime.
@@LeftyGuns1911 You can use one piece rechargeable Li-Ion 16650, alternative for two cr123a 👍 but expect the output will not be 100%. But you will have better runtimes.
Good review, dude. I was hesitant to mount it to my rifle after reading arfcom keyboard commando reviews about the inner spring construction and lack of recoil dampening, but as usual they were unfounded opinions. It survived our 2 rifle classes just fine 750 rounds later with lots of sand. One big disadvantage I'd like to note is the fact the tail cap doesn't allow only one constant momentary setting, meaning when I press it each time I want it to be momentary only without staying on AND I want the full 400 lumens every time. After learning low light stuff this is big to me and the fact I can't mod the tail cap out of this bothers me.
jacob manalang doesn't it still have a press/click tail cap? Looking for press (momentary) only, no click. I talked to Lone star patriot and he recommended a couple rail products to me that would fix it for rifle applications. Still looking for a handheld solution since the tail cap can't be modded and the cheap Chinese ones for sale are junk.
the tactical model is press for momentary, twist the tailcap for constant on. elzetta is highly recommended as well but they are expensive also. the streamlight railmount lights are programmable and very popular. comes with a pressure switch or tailcap. modes are high only, high/strobe, or high/low/strobe. you can get it in single cell or 2 cell. great value. full click of the tailcap would be constant on
Congrats on the purchase! These seem to fluctuate quite a bit since I've seen them as low as ~$45 but that's still a fair price for the quality of the light.
As of late 2018, I got an 800 lm G2x for about $40. This model presents low first, then high, so "negligent discharges" aren't as big a deal. And, you forgot to mention the difference in color rendition between the Surefire and Streamlight models demonstrated. The warmer temp of the Surefire is more natural, shows more color (thus more detail) and IMHO outperforms cool lights of the same power.
Been with me 16 years and counting been to hell and back with me if you know you know America you buy the thumb holder with clip you look like a olight person lmao
Just from the video I can see that the streamlight is a lot brighter.

Do you have a link for the clip. I've been wanting to get one for my g2x.
Great review because I'm looking at purchasing both of them
Awesome brother, I'm glad it was helpful.
Can you quickly use momentary off and on and the flashlight will stay on high lumens or not?

Would you recommend this FL? Considering that it has a disposable cr123a battery..performance wise what can you say? Value for money? Thanks

YourFilipino TV I’d better stock cr123a batts for better output.. do you know long it last for a cr123a in a normal use?
@@LeftyGuns1911 Possible at least 2 weeks I think?
Also the 800l max vision has a greenish tint like most of the newer SF models. The older ones doesnt.
Not sure if the specs of the light have been upgraded since this video was uploaded, but Surefire advertises this light at 600 lumens
That's correct, it has. Even at 600 lumens and the amount of battery it consumes, I'd recommend looking at other options.
Negligent discharge?
LOL!

Friend I have the version of 320 lumens, I am thinking of buying this will be that I will notice a lot of difference
No from 320 to 400 lumens is almost not recognizable with a human eye. The newer 600l version will make a difference.
$56.80 (with coupon), on opticsplanet, ordered one today.

Rechargeable?
There's no onboard recharging capability but rechargeable CR123 batteries are an option.
16650 from keeppower or orbtronic work well in this light. i use a nitecore intellicharger
