HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 24 июн 2018
- I drop test the Surefire G2X with MaxVision head on concrete multiple times and do a beam comparison with the Surefire G2X Defender. I also discuss the features of the light, it's construction, and what I think of it overall.

Surefire tactician
the Raven Concealment ring clip add on makes this very easy to handle and carry. I have some older model G2X and the raven clip is a must have for most work related use.
I bought one in OD green and I love it. Super handy since I work in a bar and general everyday use.
I have carried Surefire flashlights for over 20 years, first as a police officer, and for EDC now that I am retired. I used my lights so much that I would have gone broke if they were not rechargeable. I mainly carry a Surefire Peacekeeper, which I have a small belt holster for. It looks like the light you featured today, except that it has an aluminum body and uses the 18650 rechargeable batteries. I also have a R1 Lawman model, which uses the 18650 battery also, but plugs into a charger (ac or dc) but also has a stick that you can swap out that takes the CR123 batteries. It seems like anymore, Surefire has gone away from the rechargeable batteries. I have been interested in the rechargeable Olight flashlights that you have highlighted. Good review. Love the channel.
I just grabbed one of these to mount and love it so far
I have used mine for about 2 years now. I am a robotic welder and work 3rd shift. I use to inspect welds inside deep cavities. The wide beam exceeded my expectations. Best light I have ever owned. Will buy again.
thanks for the report
I keep the g2x tactical in my car at all times. Been there for several years.
nice
Surefire is doing good with the maxvision stuff. They need to make them with a single output like the other g2x's.
Instablaster
I have the GX2 Pro 600 lumen model but I didn't even know about this Max Vision version. I'm really disappointed that Surefire hasn't adapted this flashlight to take 18650 batteries since it would give a much better battery life plus save a ton of money in the long run. Streamlight has finally started offering some of their CR-123 only flashlights with "dual fuel" CR-123 and18650 capabilities and I suspect that Surefire will eventually do the same. Thanks for the excellent review.
Surefire can take 16650 batteries though. 18650 doesnt fit, but 16650 does. It works without any problem.
My favorite flash light SureFire G2X, nothing comes second close.
Excellent review! Thanks Mike!
I bought 3 SF lights on a sale for family. When I cranked it up it was on low then click again for HI. That's what happens when you don't read the fine print. This was from the SF website too. Oh well, for what I bought them for they will work fine. Just a NO-GO as a weapon light.
with the number of flashlights in your house you would have to have a room dedicated to just batteries. you are bananas about some flashlights.
My Surefire G2X Pro works fine on rechargeable 16650 Lithium ion battery, an 18650 won't fit. I'm sure their MaxVision series will work fine with it also.
Personally I use a KeepPower 16650 and it works great. The 123's serve as back up.
Thank you
Sir you give incredible reviews. I can’t thank you enough! Love the dogs.
Fantastic into music and as always the review is also great!!
Thank you
Hi, we are finding the US reviewers for small flashlight, grow light for indoor plants and
handheld loupe. Tell me if you are interested.
Good review, thanks. 👍👍
Great overview! I just ordered one and would like to use a lanyard ring with it. Any suggestions on where to acquire one for this light? Surefire doesn't have them on their site.
Nice light!
Good review. Great music.

I’m a correction officer and need a solid light for work. So far this light looks like the best choice but would you recommend any other lights? Not sure if I’ll ever really need 800 lumens. I also would like something that I can just drop in a charger rather than dealing with a separate battery charger
I think this would be a great military light. If you’re in urban combat you don’t want to go bright first. Reading a map in a building etc.
I'm wondering if the low/high output can be hacked to high output only like I did with my 6PX Pro.
The Tactical throws the high beam first and then low beam on the second click. I for some reason like the Pro because it throws the low beam first. I found that a lot of the time that the high beam was too much light right off the bat for indoor functions, whether it's not discreet at the moment/giving us away, or blinding my partners and I. 600 SUREFIRE lumen is a lot indoors. Lol
ive got two of those, excellent lights
Thank you
Where are they made?
Which light is the best/ the pro, tactical,or max vision very curious
Awesome Review!!! Surefire is the way to go!!! Thanxs!!!
Just attached 1 of these to a 7” AR9. 👍✔️
... Can you lock out the Streamlight PolyTac , like the Surefire G2x range, though ?.
Hi :)
Can you tell me if the bezel is made of steel,or aluminium ?
Thanks :)
Will these hold up to used as a weapon lights on a carbine rail?
This one is going on my 300blk SBR
Apologies if you mentioned this and I missed it: what height did you drop the light from?
👍🏼‼️
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
*LUMENS MAKE THE HOOD GO CRAZY*
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
*My next buy will be night vision or thermal, though.*
Will that fit in a V70 surefire holster?
Good review!!! 👍🏼 18650 is the way to go!!!
This light wont take 18650 rechargeable batteries, but it WILL take 16650 rechargeable batteries just fine, which is the slightly smaller diameter version of an 18650 battery.

Is G2X MV a neutral white or cool white? Thanks
i did look at the Aviator but damn in my country the price shoots to 700+ SGD???? ... i might try the G2X ... no pocket clip though.
I enjoy your reviews, however, you should really put to the test the myth that "rechargeables shut off suddenly and leave you in the dark". This may have been true when using 2xRCR123's, but with a single LiIon, I think you'll pleasantly surprised. In my experience running a single 18650 or 16650 in lights designed to run on 2xCR123's, the lights have a very long and gradual taper as the voltage drops. See for yourself. Keep up the good work.
I love my two Surefire flashlight.
A 6px pro 600L , and a G2zx 320L.
The best flashlight i got.
Could you tell me about the " bezel " of the g2x Mv, it made of steel, aluminium,or plastic ?
Thanks :)
aluminum
I love my LE 400 lumens, bought my brother a Tactical 600 lumens.
nice
Are there any clip options for the G2X?
Cant have too many flashlights.
Nice video,, thanks
Thank you
My first Surefire light didn't even say Surefire, it had Laser Products. Every time I go to a conference where they are going to be there I bring my old light and they check it after trying to buy it. I carried that light for many years while on duty and it has been placed in retirement. My go to lights is Surefire and you cannot go wrong with Surefire products.

Modded my Solarforce L2M, almost 85% similar to a MaxVision beam with 750 lumens, almost 800.
Elzetta
Great Video! One question.....I bought a "Enjoy CommieFornia" t-shirt. I received the wrong size and I'm hoping you can tell me who the vendor is. I can't remember who I bought it from. Thanks
i think rechargeables are fine nowadays as long as it is a quality cell. for example if a surefire cr123a is a li ion panasonic with a surefire wrapper on it and its good to go...why wouldnt panasonic 18650s be just as good just because it is rechargeable? it is also li ion.
for back up or storage of course ill have a dozen cr123a's on hand for the next 10 years with some in my bag and car to swap out. some lights vary so youll get different runtimes but its usually better.
but then again im not leo or first responder so i can take the risk..and i do. i carry a tactician with a 16650 in it but i do have 2 pairs of surefire cr123a's in my bag. i did have a 16650 go bad after 2 years? so i replaced it for a whopping 10 dollars and use it everyday again. it was in my fury pro, now like i said, my tactician.
the tshirt link is broke...
From all the flashlights you have reviewed, what is your favorite
depends on the use
Mrgunsngear Channel edc for the car, house, dark parking lots etc
Mrgunsngear does the geissele mk14 rail fit on the aero precision m4e1 upper
Screw Juice why polish a turd?
Sierra?
Now the price on SF hp is 140$!
Will this fit a Thyrm Switchback large 2.0?
Planning on buying the FURY-DFT but it will not fit the Thyrm swithcback how about this G2x maxvision?
I don't know
It will fit
Any chance on a review for the new M600DF anytime soon?
Indeed
I'd like to have this light, but the next one I buy has to go on a shotgun. Still, good review. Nice light. Good stuff.
At 5:18, you referred to this as a “Streamlight” FYI
Indeed
Best beam quality from Surefire than the TIR.
nice
Do you like it better than the Elzetta Bravo?
totally different uses IMO
What are the "different uses"? It would be interesting to see how the Surefire MaxVision compares to the Elzetta standard and flood lenses.
I have the G2x pro
Is this american made?
I just picked up a g2x Le for 40.00 from davor.com and a streamlight HL 750 lumen from academy sports for 39.99 was last one they had, both great prices what is the odds of both being 40.00 lol
So that’s the dropzone...
I just don't like polymer in my flash light. Will put up with a little more weight to have all metal.
A on video as all ways.
G2x series vs Elzetta Bravo
G2X Pro vs Elzetta Bravo Hi-Low, more on a competition.
.........I have been burned SO MANY times by Streamlight....nowhere near the same quality as Surefire. Glad I went with SF and never looked back...
That surprises me I always thought stream light was good to go. I'm still more of a surefire fanboy though.
Audemosha Basically the only streamlight that I will ever buy again is some sort of TLR1. I have actually had really good luck with those.
But yeah, streamlight is poop. Not only have I seen my own lights fail, but others at my department as well.
Try sog
It is a nice light but it gets hot really fast.
Indeed
Still prefer G2X Pro 600 lumens
I love you
Came to see the G2 maxvision 800 lumen vs the normal 600 lumen G2. waisted my time looking at an outdated light comparison.
streamlight and surefire needs to step there game up, the chinese flashlights are lapping them by leaps and bounds in technology.
Julio Englasis that is an ignorant statement.
Alamo1836 ???? chinese flashlights have more lumens, more charging options, cost less. tell me again how its ignorant?
Alamo1836 olight fenix nitecore
Julio Englasis olight fa sho makes 30dollar maglites look like lightning bugs in s jar
Alamo1836 i agree the only weapon lights i buy is surefire, but for duty, i have two fenix, which have been going for 8 yrs now. quality is suspect cause i used to buy streamlights but the one i did buy lasted me 2yrs then caput
Well, stop throwing that light on the concrete and it wont get so scratched. Duhhhh !!!
Won't tailstand. Shame.
Been watching your videos for years. Great weapons videos. BUT,Surefire flashlights are way overrated, and overpriced! And you would think they would have a website that actually functions properly, especially since they charge ridiculous prices for their flashlights!!!
You lost me at 3:50... once you said no 18650 no reason to watch any further... no 18650, no purchase... it's really just that simple. Surefire obviously isn't listening... no problem many other makers get it.
16650 works
Works is a relative term... the electronics are not designed for the extra voltage... Needs to be properly designed... to work with an 18650 if they want my $. Your mileage may vary.
fair enough! i like 18650's myself
I was given a sure-fire flashlight by a friend. But this guy talks too much
Well it’s a review...that’s kinda the point
The premium for surefire is to high and customer service sucks. If your a mall ninja its the way to go
One could always just throw it
