I Took My New 6'1 PG to The Rec with Randoms in NBA 2K24! Rec Gameplay + Build Tutorial

- The first build I dropped for NBA 2K24 was a 6'1 PG that had elite playmaking and finishing ability. It was a great perimeter shooter as well, but it's expertise was inside the arc scoring. The build was a ton of fun and extremely effective when playing with a squad, but with randoms and bad spacing it got a bit uncomfortable. Because I find myself playing solos more than squads, I decided to remake the build specifically for solo rec. Since scoring in the paint and mid range shot creation (for a 6'1 guard) requires proper spacing...I decided to eliminate that issue by making this builds main source of offense scoring from deep. I also wanted to see how Blinders HOF, Hyperdrive HOF, and the dribble styles that come with 92+ SWB would affect my gameplay, and so far I'm impressed!

ESPECIALLY the smaller you are I'm on my 6'4 fading and it looks wide open and I'm getting 33% contested by the big literally walking in my direction no hand up he's not even near me
I love both of my 6’4 builds but after making 5 builds at 6’6 it’s the way to go. While I miss the curry base and Kyrie dribble it’s worth the trade off of being slower but with that tmac jumper the contest is noticeably less 👌🏼
yeah I agree I have a 6'4 and 6'3 even though they're fun I never feel comfortable taking a mid range fade even though I have 90 middy just seems like a waste hunting threes the whole time I messed up my first 6'6 PG only has a 78 speed with ball but it still feels so much better than my 6'4 and 6'3@@WealthTopTen
Great video, I have almost exclusively played random rec in 2k24 because of being a working dad I have not had time to network and find a group to run with and when I do our schedules dont link up. Now in season 4 I think I enjoy random rec more than any other game mode because of the variance in what can happen. There are so many outcomes based on the team you are dealt that it helps you get good at different things. I was ashamed of my win % in earlier seasons with how good I thought I was but 40 games into season 4 with a 75% win in random rec averaging 27 a game I am definitely a better player and defender because of this game mode. Yes it can absolutely make me rage because of the stuff you highlight in the videos but I just turn the game off and come back to it another day. Your videos have helped a lot with understanding the flows of rec and my mid range game has gotten so much better since following your channel. I was a one trick pony that only would play sg not confident in running the team but my best build in season 4 is a pg averaging 29ppg and 6ast with 2.5 steals so I appreciate you and keep grinding.

Aye Dime, was curious if you could do a video on the hop jumpers this year, I know they a lil more complicated and less effective than last year (feel that way). Feel pretty limited this year compared to last.

He is speaking facts as exclusively a rec pg I have made 15 pg builds and the first 12 were all high playmaking. The last three I focused on increasing my offensive attributes to be able to be more offensive forward as opposed to playmaking forward and I’m having more fun and getting more wins as of late 👌🏼

Dime, that was the right play to shoot the open 3. If you did the pass on the cut, then y'all would be down 3. It came down to you shooting 2 free throws to tie the game for OT. The last 2 years being PG has been so irritating that I went back to SF. Unfortunately, I still end up running point 😓. It's so rare to run into reliable players offensively and defensively while playing 2k. Overall, we should be ashamed as a community for the lack of skill shown by the majority of our players. Love the content Dime, but it’s impressive you’re playing builds like this in random rec. I go in there with a high ball handle build hit a crossover and behind the back to get the ball down the court first possesion and I’ll get a TO called on me 😂 I been on off ball scoring builds ever since. When the PG sells they start throwing to me to run the offense anyways 😂

I think you could've passed the ball to the big on the cut, however a wide open 3 is the best option there. You don't want someone stealing the pass or if you lob it he messes up the lob

In 2k22 I made a SG build and 2k put me at the point almost all the time. I loved doing it and tried to be a playmaker/pass first. I looked at guard builds on 23 and 24 and i not made one. The builder is to restrictive as i like balanced builds. I need to be able to shoot, finish, rebound if needed, and shot contest and at guard i could not come up with a build that was decent enough at all of that. I need to be able to do whatever i need to to win because random Rec is well, random.
So I'm stuck with small forward builds. And for some reason 2k loves to play me at power forward because ppl make offense heavy small forwards so i play 4 because i have a high rebound /block rating. Only thing about that is i can play my rolle and sit corner all game but as soon as i touch the ball to playymake mfs come in my space allowing their man to double with bad spacing. I get on the mic and ask for space damn near every game.
It's not so bad if we are winning and guys are making theur shots. But randoms be getting locked at all the other spots and won't think about letting somebody else make a play. Like they have in their minds that I'm the guard i have to make every play even if im not maiing them.

I usually just go to the streetball courts and max a few badges then go to The Rec. I play a lot of MyCareer early in the year though…just to get used to the game.

5:21 I don’t think this was bad decision. If you do throw the pass though it’s a possible turnover if the Center’s man got steal. Plus you hit the shot so can’t complain. Even if you miss Center has a free board and points. As a big, if I get missed and you hit the shot no problems. As long as we score I’m cool with it. Fire vid 🔥

exactly bigs need to remember their job isn't to score most of these bigs have no post moves and can't even create their own shot anyway it's to get second chance offence, get stops, grab rebounds and set screens I shoot damn near 80% from 3 on my big but I go games where I get missed all the time and only get 2-3 shots up but I know just me being on the court is forcing their big out the paint I get on my big to defend it's a plus when I drop 20+ points

As A PG in random rec I avg 20 and 12 I remember I had 22 Pts 15 assists & this one dude got mad at me for one time I ain’t pass it to him like he wasn’t shooting like shii and I usually like to pass but some Mfs expect u to be perfect or do some they can’t do

if you miss hes there but if you passed and it gave him a bad catch animation he wouldve had a chance of stuffing it or if they forget about you meaning they double him and gets the board youre out on the 3 for a chance to shoot again. Good shot fam 💯

Told him he’s getting the ball on every possession going forward and said get a bucket since you said you’re a bucket and everyone else is trash. Started complaining about being force fed the ball. I'm not sure...but I wanted to get Hyperdrive HOF and I think you need a 90 speed and or accel for it.
Was in 3v3 no squad the other day. Had 0 pts and 4 assist, making the right passes & we blowing the other team out. I get the ball, Go into a triple threat & green a 3. The SG say “ u missed me cutting middle “. I say “bro when u went up on 2 ppl and got ur layup punched into the stands no one said anything, no one complained ab being missed, I been making the right pass all game & now I wanna get a bucket ur tellin me I missed u” & he said I was doing to much lol. It's not that they don't know how to cover the screen, they are just lazy. I ran with two guys today, and had to teach them how to guard it. Just play sides force the screen guy to shoot over both of us. Or make the picker make a play.

There’s no reason to try to make a play. I have multiple defenders running at me, what if I throw the pass and it gives me a bad animation and it gets tipped…or I throw an interception. It’s just not worth it with how flukey 2K can be.

Yeah playing PG in Random Rec is fools errand most of the time. If you pass they ONLY want you to pass and dont forget the dudes that wanna play PG after you dished out 5 assists already and get ripped or turn the ball over. Or they get mad when you feeding the guy thats hitting and not them..I literally played it cool one game just passing and then finally i had enough and had to drop 15 pts in the 4th quarter and hit the game winner to win the game because once i showed i CAN infact score and the reason we are struggling is because of you idiots with exception of the one guy who was doing his thing and who might i add gave me the assist and trusted me to take the last shot.(shouts to him) for the w.. i mad this PG build and my experience has been so wack that i dont even play on it anymore because of randoms.. only in 2k..😅
