Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on RUclips, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on RUclips. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on RUclips, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

I wish they had been filming Daltrey in the studio when he was singing the vocals for this song. It must have been incredible to see, with all the passion he puts into the vocals on Love Reign O'er Me. Another great vocal performance by Roger on the Quadrophenia album is on "Sea and Sand".

So many people do! Have you guys heard the cover Eddie Vedder put out on YT with Daltry's blessing? Eddie Vedder lives Thw Who and has always names them as his biggest influence. He sang this for Roger at his birthday party. I love Eddie like most people but was skeptical at a redo of such a perfect classic. Of course Eddie knocked it out of the park! At times I really thought it was Roger! If you all haven't heard it yet, you really should make a point to!

The Who have so many great songs, but my favorite era remains their earlier live performances. I was during a time when youthful passion collided with musical talent, creating a raw and powerful sound that was unmatched. Check out My Generation from Live at Leeds, a 15 minute medley of one banging riff after another.

I'll never forget the night I saw The Who in Chicago (with Robert Plant as the opening act) when they played "Love Reign O'er Me" twice! They performed it the first time and the band got a bit lost towards the end of the song. Roger Daltrey was pissed off about it and said "We're going to play this all night if we have to, to get it right". They performed it a 2nd time and absolutely nailed it. The crowd gave them a long standing ovation because LROM is always a fan favorite.

    The Who is one of the Top Bands ever. Everyone was beyond just talented. Seeing them play live in the early 1970s left you stunned;
it was magical. No opening act, 3 hours on stage of Sonic Power, a Tsunami of music. Time and Space didn't exist.

First of all, there are no love birds. NONE! ZERO!
Next, there is no more perfect line of lyrics than, "The night is hot and black as ink." Single syllable words that hit the beat like a glove.
And of course, you got the rest. Those big fat piano chords and the way Pete makes such an uplifting yet mournful sound. How did he do that?
    Just masterful!

Hopefully you'll react to the entire Quadrophenia album. Many consider "Who's Next" as the greatest album by The Who, but to me Quadrophenia is the one. It is spectacular. There is also a Quadrophenia movie. Sting plays the part of the Ace Face (and a bellboy) in the movie.

The Who are one of my favorite band. The band started in the early 60's along with The Beatles...had a very different sound than the Beatles, and have become Iconic and legendary with their songs as the theme music to the CSI Crime Series. I saw them last year in concert and they were unbelievably AMAZING!!! Peter Townsend still doing his iconic guitar riffs and Roger Daltry vocals are as strong as they were in the 60's......Incredible concert. . Good reaction. Also The Who performed with 12 piece orchestra...very nice!!!! And they performed this song!!!! Amazing!!!!

Arguably the finest album closer ever. The entire album, QUADROPHENIA, is an absolute masterpiece and arguably The Who's and Townshend's finest work. To listen to the entire album in one sitting is both exhilarating and emotionally exhausting at the same time. This band were so far ahead of the game it's not funny. Greatest band of all time. When you consider originality, influence, musicianship, body of work and last but not least, their incredible ability to play live. Put that all together and they sit at the very top of the mountain.

The first ever from anybody rock opera was Tommy by the Who. The album Tommy came first. Years later Tommy the movie came out. Super popular. Listen to the album as a long reaction. Then watch the movie full of music stars and movie stars and the Who in starring roles. Acting with all songs for dialogue. Then do Quadrophenia, it was on vinal and 8 track.

The first time I saw the Who they were promoting "Quadrophenia. They had speakers set up around the arena which made Rogers vocals sound like they were coming from the ceiling . Such a great night it was. It was also Lynyrd Skynyrd's first major tour, as they were the opening act. I enjoy your show, I hope you keep it going!

I remember that when I saw the movie I was quite familiar with The Who but not ever over impressed, in general. I was a huge film buff at the time and a massive Sting and Police fan, so I went to see it as soon as it arrived in Dublin, where I lived. I walked right out of the cinema and into a record store and bought the soundtrack album only because of this song and it`s still my favorite Who song of all time. Roger Daltrey is one of a kind.

    This one was Mom's favorite.
Quadrophenia as a whole is worth diving into. (Tommy would be the first rock opera, and Who's Next is mostly remnants of what was supposed to be the second one; Quadrophenia is built on what they learned from those two projects.)
For a good 'Pete on vocals' track, try "The Song Is Over" (I think it's the best thing on Who's Next, but the whole album's so good I can't fault people for ranking them differently). Pete sings the verses, Roger does the chorus.

  • @bpfromowc

This is a brilliant song (from Quadrophenia). The natural follow-up to it is a song called “I’ve Had Enough” (the final song on the album). It heavily samples “love Reign O’er Me” on the record. It’s also brilliant.
    Thanks 🙏🏻
