I have played with the idea that there is a culture of BioThaumaturges who use their nails as surgical instruments since they have full control of their nails. They secreted coagulants and anesthetic from them. They were always ready to perform surgery. The setting fizzled out.
Not a bad idea, this power can definitely induce nightmare fuel because mutilation is a primal fear of humans… so having a doctor with this power would be a unique spin… we normally see assasssins, beast-men, or Animal themed beings with this power.
