"La Flor" was not of this world. Her legacy spawned J-Lo. Even Selena Gomez was named after La Flor. I miss her! 😭😭

I’ve been waiting for this one! I grew up listening to her music! It is so sad that her life got cut so short and not to mention her and her husband never got to have the life they wanted 😢

Everything was going great until the comparison with JLo started. Yes, JLo has been successful in the industry, but not necessarily as a great singer or actress. The thing with JLo is that she knows how to make business. In the Latino community, JLo isn't highly respected or considered a great singer. To most of Latin America, she's just a famous person who knows how to stay relevant.
Selena's case was very different. She was known for her powerful vocals, incredible dancing skills, bubbly personality, humbleness, and even her fashion designs. By the age of 22, Selena had already won a Grammy and countless Latino awards. If we were to compare Selena to today's artists in terms of fame and success, a fair comparison would be someone like Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, or possibly Madonna.
Selena was admired for her singing, dancing, and overall artistic abilities, while JLo's success is more rooted in business ventures and staying in the public eye.

100% accurate assessment. J-Lo actually owes her career to Selena. If Selena had not died, she would not have won the part of the movie, and we probably would not have heard of her to the capacity she is now. But J-Lo became what Selena was supposed to be. Just a less talented version.

I totally agree! I think comparison isn't necessary, specially with Selena and JLo. Completely different styles and the would have both shined in their own ways. They did the same with Aaliyah in an earlier episode. Rihanna isn't Aaliyah. Completely different. Once, Selena was compared to Gloria Estefan and again, they don't compare.

I would say more like Cher than maddona. She's too classy to be compared to maddona.

I think her singing career would have continued throughout the world, performing concerts in different countries, a mega star than she was before. Her stardom would've been similar to J Lo and Beyonce.

I agree to an extent, but I believe that she would have slowed down to focus on raising any children she would have had if she was still alive.

J-Lo actually became the person Selena was supposed to be. J-Lo literally became the new Selena. Beyonce actually met "La Flor" as a kid and said she inspired her

I wished her Dad and Mom allowed the Doctor to give Selena a Blood Transfusion which would have saved her life. Their religious beliefs didnt allow for it for some reason. I will never understand that. 😢 ❤
