@ 3:00 - 3:48 the appluase was for chris the fans knew how much chris loved selena and the audience respected that chris and selena loved each other more than love itself
The applause from 3:00-3:48 was for Chris, and Chris alone: not her parents, not her siblings, but him. When he spoke, the applause grew louder and people gave him a standing ovation. Abraham's and AB's attempts to belittle and diminish his role in Selena's life, is only a reflection of their own insecurity. He was the only man who held the key to Selena's heart, and I believe the audience understood that.
That family isn't perfect like everyone think is and I really strongly believe Yolanda didn't act alone and some how got the rap of it. Abraham even told Selena his own daughter that she's worth more than Alive and that he didn't want her to cross over to English and stay with her Spanish roots. Chris knows and is a threat. I'm surprised he's not dead yet. I know for a fact that they were pisst when he came out with that book. Look it up. Hollywood is demonic as hell.
The pain…the pain in Chris’ voice man….in his body language, just everything here shows he terribly misses her. The applause and standing ovation for him is well deserved.🙏🏽🙏🏽
This was before the public knew that they were trying to push Chris to the side. It wasn't until Chris tried to make that TV series based on his book that things started to really get out. It really started with the book, but it was the attempt to make the TV series, that things really got out of hand. At this time, everything seemed fine. I think the applause was for everyone.
It’s sad that Chris had to go through losing Selena, to the family (mostly Abraham) shaming him and trying to push him away “behind closed doors”, though now EVERYONE knows, I say mostly Abraham because I feel like he told them lies about Chris to the point where people are saying that A.B and Suzette have turned on him, it also says in Chris’ book that everyone didn’t dare argue with Abraham (except Selena) because they were “scared of his anger”, this is only how I feel everything happened, and I don’t expect EVERYONE to agree with me.
I think what makes Selena story so sad and so emotional is the fact that Selena was a person who was not only super talented, but the fact that when you watch her interviews and bloopers and home videos of her on the internet, she was like an Angel. You see an innocent minded person who cared about people, wouldn’t hurt a fly, was goofy, bubbly loved to joke and just tried to be the best that SHE could be and not the best in existence. She was naturally happy. Her humility as a person is what makes this story so sad for me.
I've never cried so much over someone I never met. The way she touched so many people with her music, her voice, and just herself in general will never happen again. No other artist will ever measure up to who she was and who she could have been. I'm currently reading "to Selena with love" by Chris Perez and it truly makes you feel like you knew her. Like she was your close friend that was stolen from you. Life is so unfair sometimes. We miss you Selena 🤍

Wow .. The standing ovation for CHRIS was beautiful!! And it obviously upset Suzette..Rather than supporting Chris's support by her fans, she put her head down!?! , and She continues after by telling "Like I was saying". .. pretty sad. It's clear now, that Suzette WAS most likely jealous of her sister, but now can have the attention by speaking FOR Selena. The family was so insecure by Selena's love for Chris, and vise versa. He will ALWAYS be a part of not only Selena's legacy, but also a part of her today. Chris NEVER was about money. By Selena's father suing Chris not long after her passing, shows who was about money. Congratulations to Chris for all his success over the years. Selena is VERY proud of him. RIP beautiful Selena! I know you are waiting patiently for your husband to go home to you. 🙏🏻💕🕊️
That's not how I saw it.. seemed to me like she was crying because she was emotional about the standing ovation and the fact that her sister was gone from this world she wasn't upset towards Chris at all

As a 2nd generation Italian American, I can recall hearing Dreaming of You when I was 13 years old. And instantly falling in love with that voice, the melody and lyrics. I remember begging my mom for the CD and she bought it for me. That’s when I discovered Selena and fell in love with her. And today, as an almost 41 year old, who isn’t fluent in Spanish, I have many of her songs on my playlist like Como la Flor, La Carcacha, Amor Prohibido, Si Una Vez, Baila Esta Cumbia, and so many more on many playlist. And when those songs come on, I crank the volume and know every single Spanish lyric and sing them at the top of my lungs. Her music transcends the boundaries of language. You hear a Selena song, you’re singing that Selena song. And her infectious personality and how she adored her fans and people in general, speaks volumes about the person Selena was. Her music will continue to live on forever and she will have fans new and old until the end of time. We love and miss you, Selena. 🫶🏼❤️
I was 19 years old when she passed and I was working at musicland and played her album all the time I miss and love her. I am not Latino but I am grateful for her.
Yes, I agree that Selena is a down to earth person, and so her entire family, and Cris Perez too. Humble and kind. Always at the heart of everyone. Her legacy will never be forgotten. A good example of true and pure soul. Rest in peace my dear Selena.
Damn, I cried 🥹 I don't think I've ever seen a musical artist so loved! Never. Sure Michael, Whitney, and Elvis were all wonderful, but Selena's fan base has always been genuinely in love with her music. Absolutely genuine!
Not even tryna make this a competition at all I love Selena but her fanbase was not bigger than none of those artist you just named. I do believe that after her death her fanbase has broaden within cultures but I don’t know if an artist will ever be as big as Michael or his fanbase lol.
The moment Chris spoke and waved it that applause 👏 went louder and louder 💙💙 xo Ofa atu Chris i wish they made a series and movie of Him and Selena. That I would watch because one our partners are the only ones who sees our ups n downs behind closed doors
We shall help to make Selena's beautiful memories shine. Congratulations to a beautiful shining star. May she be crying with overwhelming happiness in heaven.
I love Selena So Much.. from the first time I seen her Tribute Movie with Jlo I fell in love immediately. Her beauty her warmth her smile.. I cried so bad at the end as if she was my sister.. I have most of her songs in my playlist and somehow I know them word for word and I don’t understand Spanish at all lol.. she made an impact on me & I went crazy watching videos of her and her life. I just had to know who she was,, not jlo or the series.. I had to see her as herself. It still hurts but I know she was an amazing beautiful person & she left her mark in this world❤️
Selena was such a humble and caring person. She was not only a singer performer she had a big heart, which you don’t find everyday. I remember the exact day the tragedy happened and it was so tragic that she was taken from us at such an early age. I have a lot of her cds and listen to them often. What a loss to the music world a female voice and performer like no other!! I miss you Selena❤️
Selena was an amazing singer. Her whispery tones and strong belts were phenomenal. Knowing she cared about people says a lot about her character. She deserves her success even though she’s not with us. Her family saw that value and made the effort to keep her legacy alive. I would’ve loved to see her in concert though.
Selena really is as spectacular (if not more) as any of the biggest music stars on the planet. Her combination of personality and talent is second to none. That's my genuine, objective take on wonderful Selena. With no exaggerations.
I still can’t get over the fact that Selena is not here I was only 6 when she passed away but still she is a big influence in my life til this day I still listening to Sel I even have my daughter listening to Sel I may not know Spanish that well but Selena was the first person that got my into the Latin culture… I wish she NEVER meet that chic (YOCACA) she took the most beautiful talented sweetest human being from us all because she was tapped and jealous… Selena we miss you and Love you 💕💕
The way the crowd stood up for Chris just shows how much love and respect he gets, even til this day. I had the honor of waiting on him at Chachos in San Antonio. Also asked for a picture on my old skool flip phone that I dont have anymore. :( But still have that memory and how nice he was for letting me and having his daughter take it
This is the best tribute for Selena. She has touched the lives of her fans. Black, white, Latino, Spanish & etc., we continue to listen to her music 🎶 for all of these years. 💖💖💖
Gosh, Suzette at the end… she broke my heart. It is true, it’s so important to remember she was a person, not just an artist, and she had what appears to be a beautiful heart.
I need to say something about the way Chris is carrying himself even after what he’s gone through with losing his wife and Selena having trouble getting the family to accept them as a couple and Chris as person he held it together. That audience showed him major love. Yes they cheered for her siblings and parents but majority of those cheers went to him because they knew how much she loved him. She loved him so her fans love him all in the same! That gives me goosebumps! 💕🥹
I still think the Quintanilla Family didn’t give And still don’t give the right respect and admiration he deserves. I feel his pain his sorry He’s very sweet and humble and Selena Quintanilla Perez ♥️♥️♥️ knew that And more!!

Omg!! Im so glad the movie came out for i can get to know Selena & her family & her Chris. Prayers to her fans & her family!😢😢😢
😭😭😭💔 Selena should still be here. It’s been almost 30 years since her life was taken from all who loved her. She deserved all the success. Siempre Selena!
Her family is messed up with Chris Selena would of been so hurt knowing what her father and family did to him. Left him out like a dog like if he was nothing to them. Chris was more than a guitarist that’ was the love of her life❤ and she doesn’t deserve that
@@64nessa im not sure how accurate this is but this was a google search. i'd still look it up better if u want. "In 2016, Quintanilla Jr. filed a lawsuit against Perez for trying to produce a TV series based on his memoir To Selena, With Love. The lawsuit claimed that the show would violate an agreement Perez signed that awarded the family sole rights to Selena's image and likeness." He signed over the rights during mourning, soon as his wife passed. I think its fair that he passed the rights but i dont think its fair that that family sues the moment he wants to write a book or make something about his memories with her.

Yes I agree 100 percent. Chris is a bad ass guitarist friend husband that's why Selena loved him and still loves him until they meet again ❤❤
I was 19 years old when she passed and I was working at musicland and played her album all the time I miss and love her. I am not Latino but I am grateful for her.
So bittersweet. She may be gone from this earth , but SELENA is EVERYWHERE !
Yes, I agree that Selena is a down to earth person, and so her entire family, and Cris Perez too. Humble and kind. Always at the heart of everyone. Her legacy will never be forgotten. A good example of true and pure soul.
Rest in peace my dear Selena.
The mom saying "I Love y'all" broke me
There will never be another Selena!
Ese Chris como tiene CARİSMA CON EL PUBLİCO FUE AL QUE MAS LE APLAUDİERON
Selena, you will always be so famous. ❤
❤❤❤❤
Selena, The Best!! Yesterday , today and forever❤
Or that of Elvis
The moment Chris spoke and waved it that applause 👏 went louder and louder 💙💙 xo Ofa atu Chris i wish they made a series and movie of Him and Selena. That I would watch because one our partners are the only ones who sees our ups n downs behind closed doors
He was going to but I guess her dad sued him. You can find that on Google I believe
It still hurts but I know she was an amazing beautiful person & she left her mark in this world❤️
Un amor como el de Selena & Chris. 😍
She was also a role model aswell
I just wanna cry.....why???!!!! Why you are not here our Queen???😭😭😭
She was such a beautiful soul, amazing and talented artist, Love you Selena ❤your American Croatian fan that still adores you🙏❤️🇺🇸🇭🇷
I got chills. Selena was present in spirit at the award show. You can feel it through everyone.💖🏆🎤🎶
I still can’t get over the fact that Selena is not here I was only 6 when she passed away but still she is a big influence in my life til this day I still listening to Sel I even have my daughter listening to Sel I may not know Spanish that well but Selena was the first person that got my into the Latin culture…
I wish she NEVER meet that chic (YOCACA) she took the most beautiful talented sweetest human being from us all because she was tapped and jealous…
Selena we miss you and Love you 💕💕
Selena was and still is SO LOVED ❤🎶😇🕊️
She continues to inspire me 😭
Amen! I know when Jesus comes they will see Selena and this time it will be forever.
QUE MOMENTO MAS FUERTE PARA SUZETTE Y CHRIS. LAS LAGRIMAS ERAN INEVITABLES!!
QUE TRISTEZA POR DIOS!!
DIOS PADRE LES SIGA DANDO FORTALEZA
Selena is a legend ❤
RIP Selena 💔
I wish Selena was still with us 🙏🏽
Gosh, Suzette at the end… she broke my heart. It is true, it’s so important to remember she was a person, not just an artist, and she had what appears to be a beautiful heart.
It hurts to know that she not here with us, I wasn’t even born when she died and I just love her and her music. I miss her.
Beautiful ❤️ rest in peace Salena 🕊️✨🙏 you will always be remember
Is it possible to be in denial for 25+ years? I still can't believe she is gone, not only that but how tragic her death was, she was only 23.😞
I need to say something about the way Chris is carrying himself even after what he’s gone through with losing his wife and Selena having trouble getting the family to accept them as a couple and Chris as person he held it together. That audience showed him major love. Yes they cheered for her siblings and parents but majority of those cheers went to him because they knew how much she loved him. She loved him so her fans love him all in the same! That gives me goosebumps! 💕🥹
Still here 2024 Que vive Selena forever!!! Queen of tejano 🎉 siempre
Selena didn't die, she's alive in our hearts and minds. Her beautiful Spirit, smile will live among us
I still think the Quintanilla Family didn’t give And still don’t give the right respect and admiration he deserves.
I feel his pain his sorry
He’s very sweet and humble and Selena Quintanilla Perez ♥️♥️♥️ knew that And more!!
Thank you for allowing the world to be part of such a wonderful remarkable evening that have passed...
This still gets to me with the crying. So incredibly sad but happy for the time she did have. May God continue to Bless her family.
Just to see very important people in our history as the audience is amazing! Selena forever ❤
Omg!! I just watching this now in 2024. I just have no words! But my prayers r sending to her family & Chris. Omg! Sadly im 42 years old & this video must've came in about 97 & i was a teenager. Omg!! Im so glad the movie came out for i can get to know Selena & her family & her Chris. Prayers to her fans & her family!😢😢😢
Suzette always treated Chris like a brother, with love...
Chris was more than a guitarist that’ was the love of her life❤ and she doesn’t deserve that
I totally agree they are scum bags they did Chris dirty
😳 what did they do to him?
I think they sued him for trying to do a documentsry aside from that its probably something they wont reveal unless im missing something @64nessa
I remember seeing this live.
Very emotional 💕😭
I Love ❤️ ❤You Selena Gone But Not Forgotten 😢😢
