Erin Araiza but Selena wasn’t suppose to die. Not everything happens for a reason because I see no valid excuse as to why Selena has to die so young and with so much potential, despite her fame. This wasn’t suppose to be her destiny.
She sang Michael Jackson, Ralph Tresvant, Pebbles, Jodie Watley, Janet Jackson, Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer, etc., from the R&B genre. Well done Selena, very versatile talent. Such a beautiful woman inside and out. 💞
She did one time lol she was at a restaurant eating with her family and someone rudely came up to her and TOLD her to give her an autograph but she told them to wait until she was done eating and asked if they could ask politely and they continued to be rude so she told them no and to go away loool
I’m African American and I love listening to Selena’s songs. I’m taking Spanish classes in my school so I know what she is talking about in her beautiful songs. I love Selena she inspired me and many others. I’m so sad that she had to be gone so soon and thinking about where she would had been now just brings me to so much sadness. Rip Selena you will always be loved 💜💜💜
She had everything: natural beauty and talent, talented family that loved her, a devoted husband that was head-over-heels in love with her (and remains haunted by her ghost to this day), crossover appeal, fashion design career, and a multitude of fans. She had everything but TIME. Yolanda robbed her of even reaching the age of 25, but in death, she achieved a worldwide base of fans from all generations. May her name always echo in the halls of history, from everlasting to everlasting.
Yes when the years got closer to 95 right. I stopped at the concert before her last one. Who knew those were her two last ones. So close, its devestating.

You can just see her growth and improvement through out every age. I can only imagine how amazing she’d be in the 2000s and all the hits she would have created.
She would’ve been at the forefront of Latin pop music and the global explosion it created from the late 90s. I see her 2000s work to be a hybrid of r&b, pop, latin and reggaeton music. Sonically like Camilla Cabello’s ‘Romance’ and ‘Havana’ era. She would have become a major cross-over pop act by 1998-2001
Once she hit about 16/17, she really was always on top of fashion trends and just rocked everything. Especially once she was closer to 20, her confidence was just infectious.
Her voice changed from 1993 to 1994. It became more mature, raspy and stronger. A voice unlike any other. I wish so much that she was always here with us. 😭💜
Her voice changed from 1993 to 1994 lt became more mature and stronger. A voice unlike other. l that she always here with us. 😭💜 Selena Quintana 23 😭😭 🇭🇳🇭🇳
I believe that was because she finally had access to vocal coaches to help her kerp her voice strong and healthy. This was preparing her for her solo career ❤️
YES I’M GLAD I’M NOT THE ONLY WHO NOTICED You can listen how she gains more control. Like in her 1995 astrodome version of como la flor sounds different from the 1992 version. She develops more of a raspiness and tone which makes her stand out, how many people know it’s Selena who’s singing
She's the reason i started loving 80s fashion, i used to think it was so ugly but then i see selena in 80s clothes and she makes it work! Because of her natural beauty and confident personality.
It’s true. It took her years to be where she was at. She started getting big in the begging of 1990. Her family were true hustlers and she deserves all she has 🙂🙂🙂 One of a kind
@@muvafunk i dont think so, it was the vibe at the time and everyone had the same hairstyle. It probably looked pretty normal. It just wasnt what suited her best, she was still a teen experimenting different things after all. Im glad that she found her own style, she had excellent taste.
Damn, at 16 she was already singing and looking like a grown woman. Its crazy how fast her voice improved so much over the years. And she had so many iconic looks but people only remember the purple outfit or the black and silver bustier.
@@mykailamoore9931 I’m 56 years old and I Remember her very well. I even had a few serious , Mexican POPPY Relationships. SELENA, was destined to be a Successful, international Level and Global Music Sensation. She died to early. That wasn’t no GOD,S Will . That Crazy, ASS , Jealous, Stealing, Evil Hearted OLD, Hag , Witch , senselessly took, that Young Lady,s life. Let me Stop ! I’m so dam heated right ! NOW . SHE was So Pretty, and Talented. And she had Good taste in her Fashion too. He had a Boutique. She Sold Garments and Beautiful Assessories . And She had just won her first Grammy Award, in the same year, that she died.
I was only twelve when she passed away and I was so devastated. I’m from Puerto Rico and we absolutely loved her. We listened to to her every day. RIP Selena, we will never forget you.
You’re three years my junior. I’m multiracial, but not Latin. I’m from the southeastern U.S. I never heard of Selena until the last few months of her life. If I could bring one singer back from the dead, there are several I’d rather bring back from the dead than Selena.
The closer it got to the ending of the video the deeper my heart sank. It breaks my heart that she was murdered. A non stop successful journey cut too short. That will forever be heartbreaking 😭
I remember my mom crying the day she died. I was young but I knew how powerful she was through my mom. When the Jlo played her in the movie I watched that tape like 10000 times
I'm a corpus christi native, selena is literally a queen to everybody here and I always say the reason she died so young was because she was an angel too beautiful for this ugly world
This made me cry. A childhood friend and I used to listen to her when we were in high school which was in the very late 90s. My friend has now passed away in a tragic car accident. She was the driver and had 4 passengers. One of the passengers was her 1yr old daughter who is the only survivor. Every time I hear about Selena I think about my friend. She was a few years older than me and I knew her since I was a baby, our families were close friends. I terribly miss her and our times we’ve shared together. Both gone but never forgotten. ❤️
I'm no stranger to death y my son was murdered at aged 12. Life as a Jewish person in the USA is no longer highly enjoyable y personally I've witnessed racism my whole body y I never knew it.
Can we all just please acknowledge at 17:45 when Selena is singing no me queda más Chris gets soooo hype when she hits that note so well you can see him smile so big like yessss that’s my baby!!
My younger brother knew her personally. He was a DJ and played some of her music. He still has one of her posters. She was a beautiful lady and singer.
@@vanessapierce231 I believe he said she was a nice, sweet person. She had a very good talent she was using. I think she wanted my brother to play music every time she came to the club he DJ'd at and other clubs in San Antonio she would perform at.
Modest, caring, charming & so charismatic. A true professional & loved her family very much!! Having those natural looks & beautiful voice was icing on the cake.❤RIP🥰😍🙏
FucK OFF She truly was!! She could sing anything,, from hip hop to pop, baladas, rancheras, Tex mex etc the list goes on! Too bad her time was cut so short
Her voice was so beautiful and natural. Music nowadays doesn't even compare to the slightest. She was murdered by someone she trusted. Her voice could never be duplicated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just by her hair and outfits you know if she was here at the present day she would have been on top of her career not only singing but fashion. Rest in paradise Selena we still love you 🌹💜
We sure do, and you're right. She was unbelievably talented, one of the very top examples of a natural performer and don't get me started on her personality and looks! 😍🥰💗 She was and still is literal perfection!
She will never truly be gone because she left such a legacy. Her voice, her dance moves, her style, that beautiful face, smile, and, spirit!! She will forever be loved and remembered!!
The story of the Quintanilla family is truly incredible and moving. A truly united family that, thanks to the vision of the father and the talents of the children, has traveled all over Texas for years to make their songs known. The simplicity, the love and the union of these people created something that not even the record companies could understand. The talent of each of them made the musical band great. One person's madness destroyed all of this, all the days that family had spent together traveling and sacrificing their freedom. Selena's death is first of all the death of a very young girl, a meaningless death and a gesture of cowardice because she was shot in the back. Even today, 25 years later, it is very difficult to accept this loss and I think no one will ever accept it. Rest in peace Selena.
The video tape was not digital back then. You can tell when they filmed at the Astrodome that someone used film, the quality was better than video tape. ...imo. It was entertaining to see the different trends of fashion in this video, I thought her hair was mostly long as she was growing up, but I see in these clips that she wore the short styles pretty much; the Whitney, the Paula, different iconic figures that were also trendsetters back then. ♥
I remember I was 13 and all the girls came to school crying the day she died in Los Angeles. It was like school was cancelled that day. Crazy smh, she was really cool
Selena and her music will ALWAYS bring me back to my childhood. Being a young Mexican American girl, Selena was EVERYTHING to us. My sisters and I wanted to be her. I still remember the day she passed. I was only 7, and I was devastated. My daughter looks like a little Selena!
i wish her dad kept that same energy of being over protective with yolanda, like he was over board and then he dropped the ball with yolanda because once he found out about the robbery he should had called the cops period.
That's what I have always said. He was so strict and so careful who he let around and what he let her do. It always floored me that he missed that. And to think there is a possibility that evil woman could be walking free in 4 years.
I totally agree!!! But imagine the pain he’s felt since her death. He blames himself and is constantly reminded of it even after all these years. It breaks my heart.
that's precisely what should have been done. Get cops and lawyers onto it, instead of confronting her themselves. This left her with time to get the gun and plan ahead. A cornered animal will act out which is exactly what she did when alone with Selena
There was not a single thing that Selena could NOT do. She was amazing. 💜 I can’t believe she was only 23 years old when her life was taken away. She accomplished so much in such a short timeframe.
John Doe when I try to sing her song Dreaming of you I can't do it witout crying...... We lost such an amazing Tejano queen ...RIP Mexican-American Tejano Queen....JLO did such a great job portraying her in the movie.shes that great that it feels like im watching Selena not JLO...Anything for Selenas
@@chrisgomez1840 yeah I get a knot in my throat too. I tried to make a video of myself covering it on guitar and singing but I couldn't get through it..😔
Selena has an impact on all of us not just her culture. I really wish she was still here today. Everyone loved her and her and Chris would’ve had beautiful children together as well.
I magine selena in her late 40s singing christmas songs with a kids and husband ☹☹☹☹☹ she just started her carrer got so far to meet this monster i cant even say her name ughhhh that devil
Wow! :') even in her younger years, her voice was mature and simply beautiful. What a talented and hardworking angel Selena was, accomplishing so much in her life. Thank you so much for this! ¡Selena siempre vivirá!
I remember since I was a little girl watching a lot of interviews and tributes to Selena Quintanilla on television. I used to naively think that she died, but at least she lived long enough to have matured and acquired some wisdom. I am currently 21 years old, and I realize (I realized since my teens) that she passed away at a very young age and she had so much more to live for and she had so much promising future.
I'm 23 and it hits hard. I knew she was young but I listened to her music since I was 6/7. I'm her age now and she was so so young. She had so much life ahead of her and she acomplished so much by 23. It's bittersweet
An amazing talent taken far too soon. Cant believe i have only just discovered this amazing person. If she was still alive she would be huge. RIP Selena your legacy lives on through your music and your fans
My grandparents buried 2 of their five children, two of my aunts. Hardest thing for me at 11 years old watching my grandparents say good bye to their daughter. She was sick but that didn't make it easier. It's not natural and shouldn't happen. Selena is in good company with my aunts in heaven ❤️❤️❤️
This had me crying....when she saw her first platinum records...she teared up, she knew that instant...her dream lf being a star came true....cut very short.....
I am from Russia and I have also loved Selena❤ for a long time! When I discovered her for myself, I listened to her songs, watched her videos and concert performances and did not even suspect that she had long been dead😢. I love her for her beautiful voice🥰, for her energy😊, smiles🙂, and for her feminine beauty💞! What a pity that the best leave first💫, her star burned so brightly and continues to burn, because it is inside me and everyone who loves and knows her! One love Selena💞
A childhood friend introduced my ears to Selena immediately after her passing. I fell in love with her voice and couldn’t believe that she was dead and I would never get the chance to meet her. Watching these clips makes me feel like I know her and I feel sad all over again. What a beautiful person she was 🖤
Same i think about her constantly i watch her vids every single day and right before i go to sleep soon as i wake up go right to watch her vids again i cant stop thinking about her i miss her with every fiber of my being it makes my blood boil that demon yolanda is still alive and our sweet innocent seli isnt here here anymore every time i watch the scene where she gets shot its not the real her but it just rips my heart out and seeing her run for her life😥😥😥
She was actually fired from several shows and told she could not sing, couldn't hold a tune. It wasn't until she started singing in Spanish that her voice developed into what it was when she passed away.
When I was born she was 17, still blowns my mind. She had amazing music career. Very inspirational. She overcame obstacles with a bunch of doubt being a woman tejano singer killed the music charts. She looked at peace. Thanks for posting this video. Well put together. 👏🏿 RIP 💜🖤🤍🌹
No the difference that these guys were just the originators. Everybody today just copies what they did back then. The music is not as bad as you think, the artist of today remind us of the artist of yesterday
Why do I do this to myself, 🤧. I miss her so much, I’ll never grasp, how a person born to be a star get taken so soon, and killer here is still breathing, literally stabs my heart. However, the fact that a person can touch my heart is pretty powerful. ✨✨✨💕💕. She will live forever her energy is still here. 🥺

She had everything but TIME. Yolanda robbed her of even reaching the age of 25, but in death, she achieved a worldwide base of fans from all generations. She was really born to be a star. She was one with music.
