I like that you explain it and discuss the songs and cultural references with them. Sometimes words and culture do not translate when it is just written down. I think the verbal analysis is better.

"Whatever he is about to sing, he has already done it with his guitar" I like their pure wisdom.... especially Abdul Aziz Rind... it is always the same, you think because he is old and didn´t live a technologically advanced life, he can´t grasp and understand the most things shown to him, but he mostly has a dead on analysis and a perspective of pure life wisdom, I always look forward to his take on things.

He is remembering his friend ESPECIALLY when he is playing. This compliments the quote "his guitar alone shows how much he misses his friend". Truly perceptive and shows how music is the universal language! I love these videos and everyone's honest reactions.

I didn't knew about the album but I do follow Zakk on insta and he for some reason puts an interesting post every Friday, I think it's about Dime.

Fun fact: The bullseye design is a signature to Zakk. The guitar he was playing was designed by Dimebag.
He should have pointed out that the guitar Zakk played was his passed friend's guitar. I think they would have had some interesting interpretations to that.
I was about to mention Dimebag myself. He was a legend.
The bullseye is also a nod to randy Rhoads who also passed.
I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure he mentioned it was the first one of the production line from the dime razor series.

I can't help but tear up every time I hear this song. It's just so sad that Dimebag was in his happy place and should have been his safest place, and then some delusional psychopath just ends his life. Such a sad story. It makes my heart heavy.

Is very sad how Dimebag (rip) met his end. His brother Vinnie Paul (rip) played drums alongside him. Imagine how he felt watching his brother shot point blank several times In the head. Heart breaking. Dimebag was the best kindest friendly bloke. and best guitarist ever in my book.
I remember where I was when I heard. In my car driving to work. I had to pull over for a minute. Days later, I remember still not fully believing it, like it was some sort of dream.
The way Muharam so actively listens to every performance of every type always makes me smile. His animated hands always look like he wants to jump into the song and participate in the playing.

As a person who was standing about 10ft away when Dime was shot on stage I must say that it warms my heart that this song has made it this far into our time. Whoever the producer or director is I thank you for keeping this around and introducing it to people who would never hear it otherwise

Okay, now that they’ve seen this tribute to Dime, let them listen to “Cemetery Gates” by Pantera so they can experience the magic that is Dime.
"Cemetery Gates" is great, but I was also thinking that "Hollow" might be an even better song from Pantera. Both great songs, though, capturing the pain and grief of losing those closest to us.

Excellent choice! After Dimebag was killed, a lot of bands wrote tribute songs, but this performance is outstanding. I'm glad the reactors were able to see this one.
Isn't it amazing that we can hear pain and emotion through music regardless of languages spoken. Mind boggling.

One of my favorite things about this channel, besides all y'all's beautiful faces and insightful commentary, is that I get exposed to music I've never heard of either.
It's great they got to see Zack live do a longer version but I truly believe they could have gotten a better perspective on the friendship of Zack and Dime from the original vid on here . It gets a little bit deeper into there friendship and shows pictures of Dimebag the lost friend . Just my opinion on this , so maybe you could show them the other video . It hits the hart deep 😢💔 . We as dimebags fans miss him dearly 😢 . Maybe show the gentleman a video by Pantera so they can see who Dimebag was and see him playing in his band . It MIT give them some insight to things . Playing the guitar behind the head and with his mouth, is a tribute to the greatest guitar legend in Hard Rock and Metal.
"Jimi Hendrix" is why modern rock and metal exists, but he was another lost soul who lived fast and died young due to drug abuse.
Jimi was experimental and tried every sound possible with the guitar, including playing it while it was on fire, and while damaging it.
Before Jimi Hendrix there were few types of guitar pedals or live effects, but he had people make new things to try, and was able to use sounds that others could not think of.
Bands like Pink Floyd took these new live sounds to another level in their early music.
Goes back to Chuck Berry.
Jimi Hendrix was ok. He drowned in his own vomit.
I credit metal to black sabbath and led Zeppelin. Hendrix created the guitar buzz and is responsible for the vox wah pedal, but he's is blues driven. I don't associate Hendrix to metal in anyway other than he inspired other guitarist.
@@hydrosapien5947 I get what you mean as I'm not a big Hendrix fan, but he raised the bar of what can be done for those later bands, who then made the formative sound of heavy metal (which is also a sound that Deep Purple and Jethro Tull are part of).
The Yardbirds sound changed into Led Zeppellin after realising you can be wild, and the painter inside Jimmy Page was free to express everything via the guitar.
Motorhead embody the essence of heavy metal, but that stems from Lemmy touring with Hendrix as road crew.
Lemmy's most fave band was the Beatles, and if you pay attention you notice almost all Motorhead rhythms are basic blues rock-n-roll but overdriven to hell.
@@TheDoctorFlay yeah. The Yardbirds changed name to led Zeppelin as no original member left by then. Jeff Beck is good. Agree Hendrix changed how guitar was viewed. Ed Vanhalen (rip) took it to the next level. Built own guitar, wired own pickups and had to make many of his effects without pedals as very poor. But I'm sure you already know this. Randy Rhoads (rip) is pretty damn awesome too.
All the greats are taken way before their time. Even Stevie Ray Vaughan (rip).

When you were talking about showing emotion and pain, the first song that came to my mind was some of the later versions of Corey Taylor performing Snuff. There are videos of him absolutely breaking down on stage and being unable to finish and the audience carrying him through all for what the song has become.
I know that's a great song, but last time most of our reactors specifically said something about the guitars not showing any signs that it was a sad song or didn't reflect if it's about missing someone. So I just had to show them this anyhow. Correy Taylor's Snuff is really amazing and I will be showing that to them in future as well. Stay tuned!

I just remembered (and I don't know how I forgot) but Pantera's "Cemetery Gates" (the album version for the most effect especially from the guitar) is another one where the guitar is showing emotion and would be fitting as a follow up. Though after watching your videos, it's probably already on your list.
Trybals, have you considered the idea of showing unplugged or acoustic performances of rock songs. It would be a unique way to experience songs the way the songwriters wrote them. Sometimes the acoustic setting shows a different emotion compared to electric. Just a suggestion.

Mohammad's interpretation in saying "my relationship with that person is stronger than death" is profound, and I agree wholeheartedly. Abdul and Mohammad are the most wisest people I've ever seen. Honestly, my Phd college professors feel nothing compared to Mohammad. Love all of them, but those Mohammad is really good with looking at things. I just love how he noticed and analyzed the microphone chained towards the skull.

A guitar solo that makes you wanna cry. That is a man connected with his instrument, and the uncle explaining how he is expressing how he is hurt just solidifies the way I always felt about the solo's on this version, and the album version!

One of them (Mohammad I think) said something so profound, about how the skulls chained to the mic stand represent how Zakk is still connected to Dimebag and that connection is stronger than death, and oh! My heart!

I was thinking of suggesting you show them some Pantera songs and then I remembered Dimebag's tragic death and how you could explain it to them.

It's been a good while since Dime passed, but I still get emotional about it. This song came out right before one of my good Friends passed (my ex husband's best friend) and we drove back from his funeral in CA and when we hit the border coming back in to CO, we pulled over and played In This River and cried our eyes out. Music definitely narrates life.
You have no clue how much this means to me. Thank you. The guy who was killed on stage was the guy who inspired me to dedicate my life to music & I was supposed to be at that show. I love how they can see through the noise unlike most here in the states. Much love to you all.
These videos are the perfect example of how music is the true universal language. As he spoke so well about the guitar saying the intent of the song without him even speaking- this is true of all music. Dimebag Darrell's death destroyed thousands of people. The collective loss and grief is still felt by the fans at having such an awesome musician and someone who could capture people's intangible emotions and situations, torn away from them.
It affected one man the deepest, hardest and strongest - Zakk Wylde. They truly were brothers in strings and we feel it the most with this song.
Dimebag played and wrote iconic songs that resonated deep in people's souls at times in their lives, where they most needed him to speak through his strings (myself included), and, on some level, we still do.
He will never be forgotten and it will never be forgiven.
This song, and particularly this rendition and performance, always cuts me up, it also amazes me and makes me smile at Zakk's incredible skills. It's an incredibly strange emotion to have while watching something so heart rendingly sad be performed so elitely.
I thank you for covering this in a reaction video with these incredibly astute and wise gentlemen. On some level we all wish we could have such a simple and immediate incitefulness! Our music culture may be alien to them, their culture may be alien to us here in the west - but from what I've seen of these gentlemen, they're metal to the core, and that makes us one and the same. United by the one thing that knows no language barrier - heavy metal.

Everyone was speechless for that solo and Elder knew his pain. My mom played Zakk Wylde for me when I was a kid. She passed when I was 16 but if she could see beautiful cultures from all across the lords kingdom enjoying music she loved would of brought her to tears. Keep partying hard with Dime Ma
This goes to show that empathy surpasses all barriers. This is a music style that is alien to them, in a language they dont understand, by an artist that grew up in a world utterly different than theirs. Yet, they understand his pain only too well.
I enjoy this channel so very much. This lovely group of people is very heartwarming to me. Their perspectives are so enlightening have so much wisdom. I have seen BLS twice in concert and when this song is played, the vibe of the whole venue changes. I do hope that Zakk will see this video one day.

This is my first Tribal Person reaction video to one of my favorite songs. I am blown away with their perspective of this song and it is so much deeper than I have imagined it. when the one guy makes the connection with the chain and skull microphone to Dime bag Darrel it made me do a double take.

Darryl (Dimebag) was not only one of the most prolific of musicians of his era, he always had a way of making everyone around him feel welcome and treated everyone like he already knew you as a friend.

What a beautiful and emotive video! I lost a friend recently (not to death but to toxic, abusive treatment) and even though I have a lot of anger about the situation right now, there’s a ton of sadness and pain right underneath it. I really felt for the singer, he must be going through so much. The gentlemen’s reactions were fascinating and insightful, as always!

I was working at a book store in 2000 at the register, when I look up, and right there is Zakk Wylde with his family. I was just about dumbstruck, and he realized it, and ended up being about as cool as you could possibly be. It was later in the evening and not really busy, so he took a few minutes to talk to me, and even autographed his sales receipt and gave it to me.
I'd love to see them react to some Ramones, Stone Temple Pilots, or something kooky like DEVO!

Also want to add that this song is very timely for me. My cousin was recently killed and his burial was on saturday, about half year ago I lost my uncle and about year ago I buried my dad.
Music is one of my ways to channel and deal with emotions. When I took care of my dad who was ill with cancer, I regularly put on music and went running and then I'd just run and cry until my soul was dull and face puffed. One of the songs I listened to was The Legend of Mother Swan by The Hu. It is a song about mother swan who sacrifices her life when taking care of her chicks and protecting them from cold. It had very profound meaning for me: My parents always took care of me and would have sacrificed themselves for me, and now the roles had turned and I would care for them even if it would kill me. Another one was Guardian by Alanis Morrisette (I just read that it reflects how she changed when becoming mother, how she became guardian angel to her child). Morrisette sings "I'll be your keeper for life as your guardian. I'll be your warrior of care, your first warden," and I, my siblings and mom were literally this to my dad. Always ready, day and night to come and take care of him. We would sacrifice everything and be on his side until the end. And we did. This is the profound meaning of parent/child relationship: the cycle of care.
Today I hold my dear lost ones in my heart. I have gentle and painful memories I need to work on. I need to find the strength in me to not push the pain away but let it come and be until I am ready to lift my head again. So I am thankful for this music, as it tells my soul "it's ok, let it come".

The style in wich Zakk Wylde plays is in the very unique style that Dimebag Darrel played.
