    That’s one of my favorite warlock subclasses! I like how it combines well with aasimar both thematics and mechanics. The celestial relavation with the radiant soul ability works great together. Celestial relavation adds radiant damage to your spells and radiant soul adds more damage when spells deals radiant damage.

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  Год назад +1

      When they put these perfect species ideas out there and take there time they give you this awesome circumstance to build this character that is cohesive. The aasimar celestial warlock not only works in all the mechanical facets, but you can role play it a bunch of different ways and it works. Fallen pact of the blade evil aligned? Yes please, chaotic neutral radiant soul pact of the chain !! All viable, all work, all so different. That’s a well designed class in my opinion.

    I’m playing one at my Monday game
    A couple sessions ago our Star Druid and I chained guiding bolted the same target
    It was glorious
    I’m growing to love this sub class
    Thanks for this video
    Side note 3 out of 5 of our party at least the main party have healing
    The rogue has a healing kits and the healer feat
    The Druid has healing
    And my warlock has healing light
    This makes it hard for our dm to TPK the party or to kill any of our characters outright

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  Год назад +2

      Duel guiding bolts is some serious threats. It’s a cool thing to have almost everyone be able to heal. It dose ease pressure of classes that tend to be dedicated healers. So you could see some more offensive clerics and the such, which is nice.

    I've just recently chosen this as a multiclass. Two levels fighter and now everything gets put into celestial warlock. It's lots of fun so far. I flavoured it as having an overly zealous/black and white "inner voice" that presents himself as the God of war, trying to make my Aasimar slaying all the "bad people". She's still fighting his influence, but we'll see... 😅

    Playing a Barbarian Zealot/Celestial Warlock in Vecna Eve of Ruin. The rage is when someone hurts her or those she cares for. And she stopped fighting the "rage" and allows it to take over and it gave her more power "warlock" so its pretty cool concept and is working pretty well.

      How are you handling the offset of concentration spells and all other spell casting. Considering how the split would be wouldn’t you mostly deal your damage from your attacks? And then use spells for utility?

    Oddly enough, I'm playing this subclass in a 5E Spelljammer game where the patron isnt a deity, but rather a lesser Solar of a deity.
    In this case, the PC is a Custom Lineage (Half-Winged Tiefling, Half-Githyanki) character with the Golgari Agent background who came across a weird spellbook belonging to a lesser Solar of Wee Jas (from the world of Greyhawk).
    Even though he's from the world of Ravnica, he feels little connection to the world and instead leaves it behind in order to return the book to its rightful owner. But in the process of doing so, becomes confronted by an impending evil of extinction level event proportions: the arrival of Nicol Bolas himself (from the MTG universe).

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  11 месяцев назад

      I like that concept. It grounds your character, makes them like a reluctant hero. Your really well set in your own world which is cool even though your character has a disassociation with it. Correct me if I am wrong but dosent the mtg universe sit like in-between worlds? Like it’s a plane of existence but it’s really more of a pocket world consisting of like just ravnica and some lands around it? I might be wrong though

    • @simondiamond9628
      @simondiamond9628 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheSinisterheroes, Ravnica doesn't necessarily sit in its own pocket dimension per sé. Within the context of Spelljammer, worlds like Ravnica tend to be treated as their own planet in space, thereby allowing Spelljamming vessels to travel there whenever they want to.
      Within the context of MTG worlds specifically, I've seen some DM's connect GGtR to MOoT and SCoC, via the alternate Planeswalking rule found in PS: AKH (Plane Shift: Amonkhet) Module, which allows players to travel dimensionally to other MTG supported worlds like Theros & Strixhaven.

    • @TheSinisterheroes

    Brand new to D&D, so sorry if this is a common question. I want to make a warlock whose patron is either Pelor, or who could be mistaken by the warlock as Pelor. Are Prime Deities allowed to be warlock patrons, or should I be looking at solars, planetars, or something else?

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  10 дней назад

      Anything with a sizable amount of power could work as a patron. If you’re very creative you could always forge your own patron out of just whatever inspires you. Anything can work. For celestial pacts anything within the realm of holy entities good aligned soldiers, usually celestials are lawful good. The main idea for me is why did your warlock reach out, and why would this entity answer.
      I usually use Prime deities but again you don’t need to. I like it because usually there’s a lot of lore behind them so I can make a warlock that reflects some of those traits.
      If you’re going with someone impersonating another deity definitely use a trickster type entity or deity.
      What species/race were you thinking of?

    • @bettinahuntenburg488
      @bettinahuntenburg488 10 дней назад +1

      @@TheSinisterheroes thanks! I was thinking Pact of the Tome because the character’s background is a studious acolyte of the Dawnfather until her temple is attacked. During the attack, she prays for the ability to defend the helpless people there and promises to live her life in service to whatever entity helps her now. Something answers the prayer (maybe Pelor, maybe not, but she thinks it is), and suddenly she has warlock cantrips to fight back with. But when the temple leaders don’t believe Pelor would empower a warlock, she’s exiled from the temple and joins an adventuring party.

      That’s such a great idea for a character. I love it. You can really take an idea like the Tiefling, tie it to such an iconic movie, and yet still make it feel new. It’s a great set up where you can set a precedent for how she experienced how the world sees Tieflings. Being in a temple as that kind of being, how do people see them? With a sense of sadness or disappointment, or do they just forgive for the sake of the temple?

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  Год назад +2

      Hmmm. That’s a little tricky.
      Ok so maybe if you went variant human or custom lineage, and take mobile, or grab schooling grasp so you can escape melee right, then you could use repelling blast to keep pushing things away, you could use your spells for armor of Agatha’s to boost you hp, with out having armor proficiency beyond light your a little strapped for ac, but you can overcome that with high mobility and ways to keep your self ranged.
      Your survivability has to be redefined from being able to soak up hits, and to being able to out last your enemy

      Then you sir have just created a wonderful character dynamic. The duality of choice and morality. Is there a desire for power? How would one follow this path? Did the character want to change? Or did the character learn that deep down that’s what they wanted along the way, and this is the right path. With out even considering species backgrounds or motivations your character is so interesting.
