Yeah it always annoys me when there's short contracts for routes that can easily use their existing buses until 2030. The K1 and all other RATP MMC routes were all retained for just 3 years. It's such a waste.
Glad to see the 319 kept by Arriva with the EAs for 7 years as well, not just 3 years like the U5 with its E400EVs. I like Arriva’s EAs anyways, best Cities with decent interior tbh, loved seeing them on the 133 as well. I’m happy the 202 is staying with its HTs too unlike the 405 even if it’s just for 3 years.
Agreed. It's good to see old-ish electrics getting retained for a full 7 year contract and it's a shame the HTs will only be on the 202 for 3 years. The 166's result was unsurprising but the pvr is sort of interesting
I think the reason why 319 and U5s tender are different is because U5 was terminated and every terminated then retained route got 3 years except 55 which got 4 years.
I'm thinking about the 166. On its contract, it should be extended to serve Epsom Hospital at all times. That's probably the reason that the 166's PVR was not numbered or unlisted.
@@MostlyBuses1 It's not like they're ENX and ENL issuing a tender with new buses, depends entirely on the scrapyard to be sold. There are viable options of leasing Enviro200 either substantial difference in what others were TC based with new electric.
Fun fact. The vision zero electroliners (ES) and the gb kites (EKL) have been seen at N garage. When 196 and SL6 are going to arriva, they either will useone of thoseelectroliners, or make it a longer wait/use existing buses at the harage without the livery because of the livery not being ready for them. Who knows? Me and you know. Lets see. Whats your thoughts?
Yeah I've seen some ESs and EKLs being stored there. The 196 and SL6 have had the new second generation E400 EVs ordered for them though which is nice to see (hopefully more companies start ordering more of them instead of BD11s). The 196 will probably start off with hybrids and who knows for the SL6, it could use hybrids or spare electrics (which I think is unlikely).
@MostlyBuses1 yeah. I wish arriva orders more EAs for arriva to put it on more routes. But there's only a PVR of 22 RAs in London. That's so less. All for the 319. Not even other routes unfortunately. And I agree with you too.
@MostlyBuses1 yeah. Seriously they added less EAs and Hats for arriva. They should have more. And yes I'm also sure and I agree with you 100% all the time.
yh croydon is known for their poor maintenance, just all arriva garages in and around the croydon area are, some of those poor e200s are carrying YEARS of filth
@@cooldude12-q9b yeah I think it's one of two routes that has regular short workings (except for school journeys on normal routes). Hopefully the unknown PVR means they're increasing service to Epsom
New GAL Wright StreetDeck Electroliner EVs almost full first vehicle may be entered London buses 22/N22, 99, 171, 172, 269 and 401 with WSD24 or TBC. I’d recommend 88, 131, 188 and 230.
Who thinks the sl4 should stop at North Greenwich instead of bypassing under the bus station as planned to take relief off the 108 especially when it comes to events at the o2 arena
@MostlyBuses1 Because the fact tfl decided to make the sl4 go non stop between sun in the sands roundabout and leamouth without stopping at North Greenwich is a stupid decision. The 129 extension is good but it won't solve the overcrowding issue between Blackheath and Blackwall tunnel especially on event days, Both the 108 and the 129 will still be overcrowded and thus it will defeat the purpose of this bus change. Also I think the sl4 should be rerouted to run via Lewisham by running alongside the 108 route and then follow the a20 down to lee Station and Grove Park
Yeah I know. I think they'll do a special short term contract on the 248 so that whoever gets it will keep the New Routemasters until they're 15 (a bit like the 87 and 67's 4 and 2 year contracts).
@MostlyBuses1 yeah we got to wait and see what will happen. I think arriva will retain the 149 because it's their baby lool and the PVR is quite high . I dont think GAL have space in NP
@@MostlyBuses1 On a factual decision that was a pretty normal scene, sometimes LT is highly unlikely to ever been very focused at the 2-5 year contract then they wouldn’t have matched or if they continue to setup proper include a short term contract in 2028.
GAL will have space in NP once the 67 is lost and they already do with the 76 being lost too. NP’s main concern is their driver shortage which has plagued them for over 3 years by moving the 153 and 214 to RA in recent years.
I think its more down to the issues with the LTs... GY doesn't really like them, and would probably want to replace them with existing HVs so that the garage would share 1 big common fleet, especially with the 347 being withdrawn, and all routes retained with HVs (except 375).
Great news regarding the 166 getting new electric buses. The current fleet really struggles on the hills on the Surrey section of the route. I believe TfL & Surrey County Council will probably be working out funding. I really hope a Sunday and evening service is introduced betweem Epsom & Banstead
Yeah it's nice that it's getting electrics but I will miss the current fleet of diesels. I think they are working to get a Sunday service to Epsom Hospital which is why the peak vehicle requirement is unknown
@MostlyBuses1 It's my local bus, I'd really love it if they did. Will be keeping my eyes out. I've noticed some more RTI boards have popped up on the Epsom section. I reckon that could be future proofing for a more regular service. Also a stop has recently had its tile replaced with a "166" tile that doesn't have "Monday to Saturday" underneath it anymore. And I agree. It will be bittersweet when their withdrawn.
@jamiebrennan4899 ooh, that's very nice to see. I'm guessing the information screens are the Surrey ones? I think the 166 tile could just be an error by whoever makes them. When the 470 was rerouted in March there was a stop in Sutton that didn't mention the Monday - Saturday service for some reason.
@@MostlyBuses1 Yes, I believe they are the Surrey ones. Strangely enough put up in not particuarly busy stops just outside Epsom Highstreet. And you maybe right to be honest.
