Excellent work! Could the next video be about how to assemble a house big enough to put this table in? It's the only thing that's missing in an otherwise flawless road to playing snooker in my own home.
Famous Russian joke - You know if your house is big enough is when the most of your guests don't even notice that there is a 12ft Snooker table in front of their eyes. :D Most houses in the US are big enough to accommodate a Snooker table.
I seem to recall these were called E J Riley tables back in the day (when they were built in Accrington). In fact they had a shop in Accrington which sold all types of sporting goods. I didn't realize that the bed was made of a number of sections but it makes sense. Fascinating build and great music.
I'm envious, dude... I hope the table gets a lot of play. Just don't neglect it, man. That would be an unforgettable sin. Keep playing, you lucky bastard :D \m/
There is something incredibly satisfying about watching amateur players play snooker. It makes me feel so much better when I miss to know that other people also miss, everyone isn't Ronnie O'Sullivan making every pot or playing great safeties. Nope, most of us miss once in a while. Great video!
I am looking to build a snooker room, this after I had a dream the other night of sneaking into my local snooker club and having a game of ILLEGAL snooker (lol). I must have reached the age of mid life/pandemic crisis, the shots I played were very pleasurable. Back to Reality. I will have to build the whole thing from scratch as the access to my cottage is through a covered passage to the back of a tall building and my back garden is 1.2 metres above 1st floor level and the only way to get the materials into the garden is over the top via scaffolding.
I suggest not to tighten the bolts in the legs until the slates are on and the table is levelled perfectly. The beams might not be settled properly if the floor and legs are not perfect even. So there could be a gap somewhere between the beams and the legs but the tightened bolts hold everything in place until they get loose with time or someone leans on it while playing and puts more weight on it. Then the table sinks in and is not level anymore and needs re-leveling. Which could be difficult as it might be that the slates 2 and 4 are affected, which you can't reach properly for re-leveling without taking the cushions or even the cloth off. Lots of messy work and time consuming. If you keep those bolts firm but not totally tightened, the table can "sink in" its position under the pressure of the slates before you level it and will stay where it is after it was perfectly leveled. Only reason why it could become not level anymore then, is when the carpet or the matts (to level the table) underneath the legs are squeezed in after some time. But then you can re-level it very easy under the legs with a jack (gently) as usually the slates 2 and 4 are not much affected or will get back in place when the legs are lifted in position again with matts. I used to it the same way as in the video but when I had to install 17 tables for the European Championships in Malta in 4.5 days, I had this idea and it worked 100%. All tables stayed perfectly level throughout the championship and players appreciated it. P.S. please use 4 men for the slates for the sake of your backs... one slate has 180kg... 😓
@@davidfarquharson5530 yes, BUT you should level it already as good as you can before you leave it overnight. Then do only the fine-tuning the next day. I think I'll be able to afford one after I win the lottery the 2nd time!
Great, but the lighting looks like it could be better.
There's nothing like brand Cloth 👍
Great Video but should have kept the soundtrack of the Clapton concert playing in the background....
Dear Santa, can you build a snooker table in my living room Xmas morning for me????
great work ,, i have a question i have an 8 ft snooker table does the 2 pin pocket plates ( brass ) are same size for all snooker table sizes ?
Nice long pot on the one ball. : )
All it took was 13 minutes 17 seconds to build.. I might buy one too xD
Its a beast.... I thought it would have a couple more ribs
Only puddy on the 2 joints? Why not on the others as well?
Thank for sharing my friend ❤
They should iron the table cloth soon after finished their assembled..i wish I could have one nice snooker table in my house someday
Its funny watching you guys playing in full speed
7:08 Pony hair guy watching TV and glasses guy making everything.
8:47 he's playing guitar hero or something, it seems
@@herrpauk I think he was doing hot knives in the kitchen...
i think pony hair guy is the customer
@@CAIDMASTEROFPYROCould be.
Don't know maybe I haven't played on a table of this quality, or maybe it's because it is a snooker table. But I have never seen a table this slow. Beautiful table thow.
It did look dead slow. I wonder if it's because all I've seen are competition tables.
great video but omg it's like being on the phone too the job centre in the uk
Are those 50mm slates ? if they are you made it look remarkably easy. I had my 100yr old Burroughs & Watts table installed and the slates were 50mm - seriously heavy bit of kit !!!
I was curious when I saw how thick they were so I looked it up, they are 45mm or 1.77 inches. The table weighs 1190 lbs.
Did anyone elce slow it down and watch it at normal speed ..
Watched a skilled craftsman build a top quality snooker table whilst classical music played, then just as the christening of said table was about to take place... BLOODY REMITLY ADVERT SHOVES ITS SNOUT IN...SOD OFF.
I will never get REMITLY, now do one.
the only thing that is missing is a source of light in the seeling shadow can affect your aiming
Yes, I'm currently making by own trapezoidal overhead light fixture.
classic music and snooker is perfect thing
Tables a bit slow...😁
Probably cos there is no under table heating to speed the cloth up. Plus it will speed up naturally when used more
@@fstream7602 yeh
I think he was kidding!😂
Nice work but hopefully the room is big enough as the walls by the door may interfere..
That wall by the door is just a tiny bit annoying but only in some rare shots from the yellow cushion to the green pocket. Other walls almost doesn't exist during the game, playing for 9 months already, no issues whatsoever.
@@arthurvlog6259 that's great to hear and glad it's working out. Happy Holidays!
Absolutly gorgeous table, im so jealous :p was the installer from England or is there a US Riley team? Also couldnt imagine many snooker tables around your neck of the woods? Anyone else you know have one?
There's no US team as far as I know. Definitely wasn't at the time of install. I don't know anyone from Phoenix having a private table. But there's a two private snooker clubs in Scottsdale which were invitation only based at least few years ago when I was researching it.
@@arthurvlog6259 Cool, thanks for the reply. My family owned a 1980s Riley Aristrocrat full size refurbed, we were lucky one of the Riley Showrooms is in my town (Dublin Ireland) and only 20 minute drive. From when we ordered the table it was up and running 3 days after. No better feeling then having your own. Congrats man hope you and your family have a 'ton' ;) of enjoyment on it :)
Wow. Riley England.
Just in case if you guys are confused who won, the guy with the glasses won by way lots of points. He shoots better than the other.
Wrong. Matt shoots better - true. But I won pointwise due to his fouls :)
@@arthurvlog6259 ok I’ll be the referee and I’m going to watch your game again at 0.25X and come up with scores. This time I’ll be mentioning full-sleeves vs half-sleeves guys
Awesome job guy’s
Hi. How did you order this table and how long did it take for it to arrive from england to US?
Great job !
That moment when you realize you can install a snooker table but you suck at playing snooker
Its a fun game. You don't need to be good.
@@humansvd3269 its the most frustrating game on this planet!
@@TheTelblackwell Russian billiards is worse.
Heh! I suck at snooker so bad that I'm struggling saving up for, and justifying buying my own cue. My weekly visits to my local club are always a blast though. 😀
Best quality. Good job bro
I reckon it would be clearer to show one part of each essential operation slowly....
No way, excellent job.....
What is the total cost for something like this purchased/delivered/professionally assembled?
13 mins Wow that RED BULL works.
