Ah, Hp Lovecraft My oldest literary addiction. your calm, soft voice is a great match for the story. I've noticed that Lovecraft has a very different feel when a woman is reading it. the way he wrote made it easy to for mental pictures. I imagine some of his work is rather difficult to narrate. Te archaic word use and word flow have to be tough to get right. You did an amazing job. Please do more of his work.
Creeparoni Excellent I await the culmination of your efforts with breathless anticipation :) I know a lot of people who love horror but are put off by the way Lovecraft writes. It is odd that Lovecraft was not writing for the highly educated, but the average reader. The writing style and word use that stumps modern readers was easily readable by people of the time.
Ahh! Lovecraft! Thank you for this beautiful rendition of a timeless classic. His words are always pure poetry, whether they are written as prose or poetry. He is the inspiration to so many. It's unfortunate that he didn't live to see his work appreciated. Though he did not live long, he did achieve a kind of immortality through his work. I would love to hear you read more Lovecraft. You have a wonderful voice for it, as well. Btw, I love the music box outro! Something about music boxes conveys a creepy vibe without being too overstated, though it is unmistakable in its implication. Sort of like a porcelain doll, in a way, though not exactly in the same way. (I hope that I am able to get across what I mean.) Anyway, have a great day and a great weekend. Take care and be well. 😁
+Rachel V K I'm so glad you enjoyed this, it was actually super hard for me to decide which story to do because they're all written so beautifully. The language is a bit hypnotic for me, everything is described in a way that paints a detailed picture. I don't know that I have words to describe the feeling. This story struck me because he's right, the moon's light is transformative in both captivating and disturbing ways. I promise more Lovecraft in the future
+Creeparoni Great! I look forward to your reading more Lovecraft! Yes, hypnotic, that is a wonderful way to describe his sublime prose. Listening can put me in a bit of a trance. I can imagine that reading it would be something akin to that. Or perhaps even more intense.
fucking amazing. your voice, the way you say everything, its just all amazing,i found your channel from the tobit series and immediately loved this.you are one of my favorite people to listen too.
+MechaGaming I just started the Tobit series, myself. Btw, funny thing, I looked up Tobit to see if there was any more information re this legend. I came across a Book of Tobit and so I started reading about it. It was something completely different! I had started reading a summary of a book of the Bible! So, now I know that there is also a book of Tobit in the Bible! They don't appear to have any connection. As far as I know, at least. But the name "Tobit" is so obscure. I wonder if the original author had any knowledge of the Biblical story and used any of that lore in the fictional story. From what I know of both, that seems highly unlikely. But stranger things have happened.
Your voice is perfect for these ❤ ... I am a fan of lovecraft he was a man beyond his time just wish there was a way I could speak with him ... ( Beside Ouija board) maybe something that most likey won't harm me lol
Still-the most beautiful heartbreaking reading of this haunted poem. J'adore tellement.❤️
