    The problem with the faders in Ableton already existed with Spacelab. Thanks for the tip 👍 Should also work in Spacelab. Otherwise, great video as always 👍

    Great Video, thanx a lot! Besides head tracking, what does Virtuoso bring to the table that the Atmos Composer does not provide with respect to binaural rendering?

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  6 месяцев назад +1

      Very good question! There are additional options in terms of speaker layouts it can handle. And it can use custom HRTF. It depends a bit what you do. If Atmos is all you do and headtracking is not important to you then the DAC is sufficient.

    The only thing that dictates whether a technology is a 'fad' is whether it can be made convenient for the consumer or not.
    With atmos already being forced into so much hardware and Apple now refusing to list non-atmos songs I think it might stay for a while. The only major barrier is that it is a proprietary licence from Dolby, not open source so let's see.

    Hello, It Works fine in Binaural or multichannel with Mac, but with PC, I don't understand how to monitor sound directly in my output soundcard (in external output menu on DAComposer, it propose only a pair of speakers), or by Hdmi with a Av Recepter same problem.

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  6 месяцев назад

      The DAC should see the multichannel output device. If it doesn’t you might need to go into the device settings in Windows.

      @@michaelgwagner I do, I've also install the dolby access and try the exemple video for dolby atmos home theater, Dolby Atmos works fine. But DAC send just stereo or binaural. If it comes from Windows setup, I don't know where is my problem.

      I would suggest to reach out to Fiedler Audio. They might have a solution to your multichannel device not showing up in the DAC.

    How do you suggest to render an Atmos MP4 in windows to be able to send test mixes to client?

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  Год назад +1

      I’m only aware of two ways how to do that. You can either use the latest version of the Dolby Atmos Renderer, which now includes the Windows standalone. Or you can use Amazon’s AWS Mediaconvert. If you plan to do it on a regular basis, it probably makes sense to shell out the money for the Dolby Atmos Renderer, even though its Windows use is limited to rerendering and creating those mp4.

    Any wireless options for headtracking?

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  Год назад

      On a Mac you can use the Waves headtracker together with NXOsc. Or you could use Logic with Airpods. On Windows there aren’t really good wireless options.

    Thank you, Mr.Wagner. Currently I am having difficulty ordering the head tracker. For some reason, my country(South Korea) was not in the list on the order form's shipping list. I sent an e-mail help. Is there other options for the headtracker? // Got the reply. They are adding South Korea to the list.

      @@michaelgwagner As soon as I was processing the order, the response was that it went out of stock. So I could not order... Is there an alternate product I can use? The problem I’m finding using it with logic is that if you have beams on the channels and a beam on a vocal bus for example they bus will go out of synch. Do you know of a fix Michael?

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  Год назад

      You are not the first one to bring that up. I have not yet tried it with Logic.

    • @fiedler-audio
      @fiedler-audio Год назад +2

      Hi Danny, we have investigated a bit and there seems to be a bug on Logic side where something with latency compensation went south. More precisely, each buffer comes with a position information to where on the timeline this audio buffer belongs. That works well for normal audio tracks and instrument tracks but it is not not working well on aux tracks. We will continue to investigate to see if there is a viable workaround.

    Anyone else having difficulties getting this to work? When I select ReaRoute ASIO (x64) as External Output in the Composer, it takes a couple seconds to load the driver (longer than other drivers) and then the Composer prompts "Error Accessing Audio Device. Error Text: Device didn't start correctly". Ableton won't play anymore and changing the driver to none or any other doesn't bring Ableton back. It needs to be restarted, but hangs on closing.

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  Год назад

      You probably have ReaRoute selected as the Ableton output. You can’t select it for both.

      @@michaelgwagner thank you for your quick reply! No, my Ableton output is set to my sound card (RME Multiface II), as well as in Reaper. Everything runs smoothly until I set the External Output of the composer to ReaRoute.

    Great video. i downloaded the latest version of Atmos Composer but rearoute asio is still not showing up as an output option. I'm working in reaper alone. Do I have to have Virtuoso in a separate project or can it be in the same project that Composer is in? Thanks

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  Год назад +1

      You don’t need rearoute if you are already in reaper. Just put the composer on a 16 channel bus and put virtuoso right after it.

    here's the issue I'm running into.
    I need to be able to blow adm wavs into full sessions. I want to be able to recieve atmos mixes from the sound designer and dialogue mixer/editor and add them to the music mix for the final dub mix.
    Any ideas on how I can get this done?
    I prefer to work in reaper if I can and I'm on PC
    I know it can be done with protools session data and a mac. I'm hoping for other ways.

      Nuendo and DaVinci Resolve can do that, too. Both in Windows as well as on a Mac.

    Hey! I hope this is not too much off topic. Can the ReaRoute in Windows be used the similar way as Loopback app is being used in Mac ? For example If I have a 7.1.4 setup at home on Mac you can use Loopback app to route the audio to your 7.1.4 setup and actually listen do Dolby Atmos music or movies. On Windows however I have not yet found the Loopback app equiavalent. Can ReaRoute be it ?

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  Год назад

      Rearoute can only be used to route into Reaper. In that sense it is not the same. The closest you can get to a Loopback app on Windows is via Jack routing.
