These two are great. Extremely competitive, big plays. The future of VGC is legit. I'm 2 matches in and I'm cheering for Simone, that first match.... But Justin is killing it too. Good luck, Trainers. Whoever wins, you both had a great showing
Even though I live in Canada, I wanted to watch this match in person, so I tried teaching my dog Surf and then stood on him when we got to the edge of the shore - we both drowned. R.I.P.
I think she has a lot of assistance in prepping for competition. When thanking people she thanked her "coach". She is very skilled for her age, sure, but having a coach helps be able to focus when in competition. The other kid was nervous as heck and very fidgety while she sat there calm and collected.
@@Kariahel but Justin has a huge record of winning in Junior VGC Championship throughout the years, so it is still a huge thing for Simone to be a first time competitive trainer to win against him
@@codename-pi True, but nerves can make it really difficult. The fact she beat himthe first round probably shook him a little bit. Learning how to keep your nerves in check can really help make a huge difference. Past experience can be a big help, but Justin was seriously nervous. She seemed ready to take a nap. That is why she was able to predict what she did, she didn't panic.
Massive respect indeed, he took that loss like a real man! That's honestly really hard to do, hopefully he comes back as a stronger contender next year. Awesome job to the both of them!
Slely Slels I like venasaur! It’s bulky and you can do a lot of stuff with it! Leech seed toxic synthesis and engery ball I guess or some stronger special grass move paired with drought ninetails to get rid of its weaknesses. Idk I’m learning competitive and just thinking with what I know so far and I think that pairing and set sounds good idk
The current generation grew up with gen 3, and the new generation’s all about gen 5. Then there’s these kids who are starting with gen 8, who could beat the majority of all of em.
And a kid as well! Usually people always talk about how pokemon vgc is impossible to get into cause there are a lot of veteran adults who have “decades of experience” but i find that completely incorrect. Pokemon is still a game and limited it is. Regardless of how experienced one person is it still doesn’t change the fact that as long as you get to know the game you’re playing then you’re ready to get into competitive.
I love seeing how like. these kids are using strategic Pokemon but also just their favorite pokemon. Its so very sweet, I wish more people did this in competitive scenes.
I remember when I was that age I thought I had like 200IQ whenever I switched in on a ground type move. Or using super effective moves. Meanwhile both these kids are doing doubles and using actual strategies
I am Singaporean but I just have this to say: yeah it matters who won and lost but these kids are clearly geniuses and I am glad Pokemon gave them the platform to express and hone themselves.
Justin is a great player and has enough points to go to worlds 3 times over. He will continue to do great I am sure. I am happy for Simone! A fantastic start for a new star!
It's so cool still seeing children enjoy Pokemon so long after the original games. Pokemon Blue, Crystal/Silver will always be my childhood Gameboy games.
It's mostly a coinflip: since Tyranitar outspeeds Rhyperior here and had a huge boost in Attack, Tyranitar can KO Rhyperior with Crunch with 100% accuracy. That's why what Justin did was to Trick Room with Dusclops and Protect Rhyperior. If Tyranitar attacked into the Protect, Simone would have lost that one. BUT, as you described, if Justin didn't Protect, then he would have won the game (...95% chance) as Rhyperior would then KO Tyranitar.
Zekira Drake that’s fair. Maybe it was me not paying attention but I figured he was packing will-o-wisp on the dusclops and could get him with that if Rhyperior went down
That's a good assumption, though WoW on Dusclops has been rare lately because of all the moves it wants to use. Another option probably that Justin had was to Ally Switch + Attack, which is another 50/50 on its own. If Simone targets the wrong slot in that scenario, Justin wins.
As i was watching this final, i notice that this kid Justin shake his hands every time he gets happy or excited, and judging just by looking i think he suffer from ADHD, shake the hands are a involuntary impulse, i know because i suffer from the same thing, some people here are saying that he acts cocky when gets something right but i really don't think that's the case, when you are a children you don't have notion of this things even if someone say to you, you can only learn to control the impulses when you are mature enough, poor kid, i just hope he doesn't get bullied.
Congrats Simone! I remember I battled her in the side events at last year's World Tournament and I was shocked at how insanely good she was! I had a feeling that if she were to compete, she would do really splendid! And here we are, seeing her become champion in the Oceania VGC Junior Division!
These juniors make my minuscule competitive spirit look puny... I need to practice Also seeing Simone demolish Justin in the first round was definitely entertaining- and the comeback the next round was incredible- aaand then them deciding "haha no" and destroying Justin.

@@bunny-mo8ch imagine still losing to a rock type gym using fire type when you already have overleveled pokemon cause you fought too many trainers on your way up and you pokemon either has already evolved or is high enough in terms of level to easily beat the first gym xD but still tho i do agree with your opinion about losing to rock type gym with a fire type pokemon
@@brenzete6092 Bruh yeah torchik can get double kick but it can still get rolled like a blunt by a rock tomb
These two are great. Extremely competitive, big plays. The future of VGC is legit.
I'm 2 matches in and I'm cheering for Simone, that first match....
But Justin is killing it too.
Good luck, Trainers.
Whoever wins, you both had a great showing
Wow, what a final match. That was so hype.
Now if only the .music was different. It would've been perfect
Of course she'd use that god damn Moonlight Butterfly. Those things are as savage as her.
Matías Montane it was choice scarf sleep powder ._. scary girl
@@Pkmn20 Its pretty normal set for a butterfree, why is everbody making such a fuss?
Even though I live in Canada, I wanted to watch this match in person, so I tried teaching my dog Surf and then stood on him when we got to the edge of the shore - we both drowned. R.I.P.
What a pity
Good job rusty
shady T Chrome I tried it with my Zubat. He doesn’t wake up anymore...
I love watching Junior Division Finals because they bring more Pokémon we don't see in other divisions.
11:47 that looks like Simone saying "I'mma destroy this man's whole career"
This has got to be the most biggest brain or the luckiest girl I've ever seen my life.
She told Cybertron in the winners interview that she predicted the Rhyperior to Protect.
Exactly, and she isnt lying for grabbing merit bc she probably doesnt even know what this means.
Her interview answers were adorable!
You've gotta give respect to justin though he has very good sportsmanship and is always hyped up
Massive respect indeed, he took that loss like a real man! That's honestly really hard to do, hopefully he comes back as a stronger contender next year.
Awesome job to the both of them!
Oh yah
But he was creeping me out with that he kept moving his hands
But I understand I twitch my eyes
So he might twitch his arms and hands
Serpil Vorner might be some type of stimming
That's funny because the last finals he did, he lost and went on a tantrum on live TV
@@Serperi0r
Who tf cares he is a kid. Atleast he learned his mistake tho
This was an awesome match! They both read each other’s strats and adjusted incredibly well. So cool to see this kind of stuff in such young trainers.
The fact that Simone named her character PinkiePie is so adorable aaaa
i aspire to be like her
Legend has it he’s still trying to get the trick room off
Kids these days not using charizard
Me: Ah finally, they grew up
They didn't grow up with Charizard to begin with
With all those choice scarf or focus sash Excadrill around, it would be stupid to use a Charizard now
@@azurecrow7055 I just wrote that comment cause It annoys me that how fckin overrated charizard is
I mean why does nobody like Venasaur?
┐(´д`)┌
Slely Slels I like venasaur! It’s bulky and you can do a lot of stuff with it! Leech seed toxic synthesis and engery ball I guess or some stronger special grass move paired with drought ninetails to get rid of its weaknesses. Idk I’m learning competitive and just thinking with what I know so far and I think that pairing and set sounds good idk
The current generation grew up with gen 3, and the new generation’s all about gen 5.
Then there’s these kids who are starting with gen 8, who could beat the majority of all of em.
Geeze, I was 7 when I started playing Pokemon. She's already out there being there best there ever was
Perfect example of "when you celebrate too early" 😂😂
Waterfall kills rhyperior: OOH THATS ALOT OF DAMAGE
This is an adorable match.
This match was hype gratz to Simone she played miraculously and she’s so cute ^___^

Charaf eddine Zabakh not that way you dork cute as in how adults call other young children like family members do to a young family member
She is absolutely adorable.

Proud to see such a new female player kickin some butt, keep it up, I’ll be rooting for you Simone!
Well Il be rooting for both they have a good future for this both deserves de best
I love seeing how like. these kids are using strategic Pokemon but also just their favorite pokemon. Its so very sweet, I wish more people did this in competitive scenes.
13:05 she's looking at him like "the pressure is getting into him, good".
29:58 is what you came for.
I remember when I was that age I thought I had like 200IQ whenever I switched in on a ground type move. Or using super effective moves. Meanwhile both these kids are doing doubles and using actual strategies
Youngster Joey: Finally a worthy opponent !!!, our battle will be legendary!!!
I can imagine her tyranitar vs his top percentage rattata
What is the name of the game bro

I am Singaporean but I just have this to say: yeah it matters who won and lost but these kids are clearly geniuses and I am glad Pokemon gave them the platform to express and hone themselves.
Justin after winning: *goin crazy*
Simone: okeh ._.
1 vs 2 and being able to read that protect... girl!! I would have already given up... Well done Simone. So proud of you! You go girl!!
This is one of the best VGC matches ever!
I think this could be the best match in Juniors ever
Definitely one of the best and it's Junior one and no charizard.
And her IGN was PinkiePie
Justin is a great player and has enough points to go to worlds 3 times over. He will continue to do great I am sure.
I am happy for Simone! A fantastic start for a new star!
It's so cool still seeing children enjoy Pokemon so long after the original games. Pokemon Blue, Crystal/Silver will always be my childhood Gameboy games.
“Larger than life” - This caster any time someone dynamaxed this whole event lol
Tyrannitar has always been one of my favorite Pokemon, so I am very happy that the new Champion had it on her team. I salute you, Champion.
I like how the announcers were talking about the Butterfree potentially having a sash game 2 when Dusclops frisked it game 1 and found a scarf...
They r females what do u expect
@@rickiestevens2655 the person who won is a female so i dont know what this comment is implying lmao
Oooo, that hurt to watch him protect with Rhyperior instead of just doubling into the Tyranitar... would’ve won that easily. Oh well, great games.
I was expecting a ally switch
It's mostly a coinflip: since Tyranitar outspeeds Rhyperior here and had a huge boost in Attack, Tyranitar can KO Rhyperior with Crunch with 100% accuracy. That's why what Justin did was to Trick Room with Dusclops and Protect Rhyperior. If Tyranitar attacked into the Protect, Simone would have lost that one.
BUT, as you described, if Justin didn't Protect, then he would have won the game (...95% chance) as Rhyperior would then KO Tyranitar.
Maybe Dusclops couldn't do it so he had to protect Rhyperior?
Zekira Drake that’s fair. Maybe it was me not paying attention but I figured he was packing will-o-wisp on the dusclops and could get him with that if Rhyperior went down
That's a good assumption, though WoW on Dusclops has been rare lately because of all the moves it wants to use.
Another option probably that Justin had was to Ally Switch + Attack, which is another 50/50 on its own. If Simone targets the wrong slot in that scenario, Justin wins.
When these kids were born was their parents like ur gonna become a profesional pokemon trainer
I bet at least one did.
Interesting, so basically childhood involuntary impulse can be can be controlled as you grew older?
There you go with the Dx Machinegun
I actually tought he was cocky thanks for the explaining
i have adhd and im perfectly fine xd
I shake my hands because they get sweaty sometimes, he might have been doing good the same he was under a lot of pressure
Congrats Simone! I remember I battled her in the side events at last year's World Tournament and I was shocked at how insanely good she was! I had a feeling that if she were to compete, she would do really splendid! And here we are, seeing her become champion in the Oceania VGC Junior Division!
Insomnia and it’s all over for her.
@@businessman4269 and electric terrain-
I really liked sword and shield vgc since the lack of legendary pokemon and the use of mons you rarely see in these tournament
These juniors make my minuscule competitive spirit look puny... I need to practice
Also seeing Simone demolish Justin in the first round was definitely entertaining- and the comeback the next round was incredible- aaand then them deciding "haha no" and destroying Justin.
Try getting a 6 IV ( optional ) no guard ( if it has it ) sp. Def nature tp trained in def and special def and speed guillotine durant however i doubt that exists
