gastrodon became very popular this few months in OU. It's not that much surprises it's seen in vgc, but yea, last year it was never seen.
Gastrodon was used heavily when Kyogre and Groundon dominated.
It's FUUUUN!
VGC 2014 was Pachurisu's year.
And 2018 was Gastrodon's year in the spotlight.

Frankly I don't think they ever will, Pachirisu just had a very lucky niche in follow me + nuzzle.

good luck with that... Solrock isn’t that good of a Pokemon (horrendously slow compared to competition Pokemon), and has a lot of weaknesses that many moves and many Pokemon cover.

Not expecting anyone to actually read this, but id highly suggest the video for the championship finals next years to last exactly 1h, so the video length doesnt spoiler the outcome of the battle. Basically a 28 mins video already tells that the match would be over after only 2 games, meaning that after Paul won the first game, it was clear from the beginning that Paul would also win Game 2.
what would they fill in that time that they didnt use for games?
Rod Bag they could just throw in the title screen and let it last for the remaining minutes. no music, no animation, just the title screen being there, would be the simplest way

as soon as i saw the left player’s team, i knew he was gonna lose. like, three ubers? and two of them being commonly used? quite hilarious and not surprising. so it’s already obvious from there that he’s going to have a very bad start, and very bad outcome. also, not all tournaments are able to spend wasted time on editing. it’s very complicated to explain, but basically, they don’t always have the time nor staff nor money (the only reason why people can make these events happen, btw) necessary to waste on such a simple thing.

Fantastic performance lately, Paul lost in World Championships Semi-Finals 2017 and claimed the throne this year. Congratulations, super happy for LatAm finally getting a world champion!

Unfortunately, Paul's victory is hollow due to him borrowing a 3DS and using a hacked team consisting of completely different Pokemon from a new cartridge, most of them Shiny.

@@eduvbs im glad syncronize got buffed: nature of the syncronize Pokemon = same nature for all wild pokemon as long as the syncronize Mon is in the lead slot, fainted or not. No more 50% maybes in getting the nature you need
You can just breed with an everstone to secure it has the right nature and if a shiny hatches you can do hypertraining

They use what helps them win, that's why tapus, intimidators and rain/sand are so common.

I'm not a doubles player but I really like the sportsmanship/general attitude I see in this community compared to the singles scene.
The 2nd Perish song turn where Gengar substituted, Landorus could have used Earthquake to knock out Incineroar without knocking out his own Gengar. Then Snorlax kills landorus but it’s Latias+Gengar vs Salamence+Snorlax. Next turn, double protect to kill Snorlax via Perish song and then it’s Latias vs Salamence which of course Latias can win because of Ice Beam.
Salamance DD's in the double protect turn:
+1 252 Atk Aerilate Mega Salamence Double-Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Latias: 217-256 (140 - 165.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
There was no way out for Emilio
shamanazakura could be. But i dont think Emilios Latias has no hp nor def bulk. i could be wrong tho

Even if we consider Max defense for a neutral nature, after 1 DD MegaMence still OHKO's cleanly with Double Edge.
Latias would need to be Bold and have almost full defense investment to survive, and even then it's a damage roll (Albeit, in Emilio's favor).
I thnk that Latias was Timid, although there's no way to be sure
