I’ve watched three of your videos today, and I’m gonna watch three more!
Good stuff! Glad you are enjoying them mate!
I used to live near here. I'd swim to that rock and back almost every day. I love watching your videos, I'm originally from UK so when people enquire about where I live I'd tell them to watch your vids as you capture it better than I ever could. Really miss that part of the world.
Nice mate, would love to live there myself. Cheers for the comment mate.
Are there no sharks ?😂
@@volkert7775 You get a few Bronze Whalers but they don't bother you really unless like Ollie you've just speared a fish then they can get a bit feisty. Seen an Orca in that bay chasing a ray but they're harmless to people. We're lucky here in NZ that shark attacks are extremely rare.
@@hudsonquay wow man what an experiences i live in the netherlands ive seen a mosquito 😂😂 and a pike
Yoh ollie , I watch ever video!!!! They are fire, keep putting in the hard work and it will pay too. Thanks for all the joy!!!
Thanks bro, cheers for the feedback. Will keep producing 🤙
Literally 2 days before you got this big one I speared a 17 lb at the same spot. You must’ve got his old man!
Boom! Nice work bro
Epic brother, that "one last look" is always worth it aye.
Haha totally bro. Often pays off
Nice snapper there. Keen to see a co-lab between yourself and Kerry Flowers, two of my favourite NZ spear fisherman on the tube.
Thanks mate! Will have to get up North and make that happen one day!
Thank you for bringing back memories of spear fishing in the Aegean sea at a wonderful age.
No problem!
Nice one! I saw a massive snapper there a few years ago, just cruising in the shallows. Classic on or off spot huh. Great fish
You really captured that bay in its full beauty and your persistence had its rewards. One of my favourite spots to kayak fish 👌🏽
Cheers mate! Yeah it's a pretty cool piece of coastline!
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better you go and nail a beast. The smile said it all.
Thanks Mark, yep was pretty Stoked!
Good example of trusting your methods and being patient. Great fish mate!
Cheers mate, yep a bit of patience sure pays off sometimes
thats epic Ollie!, love the small tips, needing some fresh snapper
Hi Ollie,
You certainnly nailed that one, more ways than I can describe...great video, great drone footage, fabulous background music....and awesome snapper to take home. Makes you feel alive getting out of bed. Have an awesome week. Can't wait for your next aquatic surprise. Take care. Cheers. Trev
Cheers Trev! Always appreciate your feedback. Have a great week ahead
That is amazing you can catch something that big pretty much straight off the beach. Enjoy!
Yep, we have some great opportunities for spearing in New Zealand. Don't need the big flash boat to get a feed!
Well done OC 👏 it's the cold water that recalibrates you hey, you get out of the water you feel refreshed invigorated and it almost feels like summer again. Thanks for sharing,
Gary.
That's is Gary, lots of benefits the being in the ocean in general and especially cold water!
your videos are keeping me from going insane from having not been out in awhile... thank you lol
Haha that's good to hear!
All those big trips and this is where you nail the PB snap 😂 great work
Yeah funny how it works out like that sometimes!
Gun intro with the shots
Ollie even the gulls were frothing for ya bud YEEEWWWW!!!!! great catch 🙂
Lovely day out, you are so lucky to have these conditions on your doorstep🌊🌊🐟🌊🌊
Very grateful for the ocean life we have here!
@@olliecraig-primalpursuit indeed the land of plenty🙏
First time I've seen a goatfish in one of your vids. Come to Hawaii and we'll get you a kumu, the endemic goatfish. Yummmm.
They used to build sailing ships there in the old days, the cuzzies had a big slaughter up on the beach pre euro times as well, alot of good fish have come out of there over the years, welldone!!!
Interesting! Cheers mate
Patience pays off yet again. Awesome job man
On ya bro... patience perseverance is the key ... awesome guy 👍👍

Those kind of remind me of Tautog fish that we have here on our East coast of the U.S.
Those are one of the very best tasting fish that we get locally .
Great Video , that water is Crystal clear .
Oh cool! Cheers for the comment!
Great fish mate
Another great video

Good work great video and some snapper in the freezer ..
That's it mate! Cheers
That's an awesome snapper!!!!! Well done! When you say it's cold, how cold do you mean? Cold during winter for me is anything from -12 to 8 C. Cheers from Idaho, USA. Love your videos.
Great watch, as always 🙂
Cheers for the feedback 👍
Been there a few times. Nice score, old mate looks like that snap from goat Island haha
We're is this
Great catch, man. That's a dinosaur.
Cheers mate
Awesome vid man. Beautifully edited
Thanks mate
An impressive fish certainly, it's probably swam around there for the last 20 years. I let them go myself and eat the sweeter smaller snapps. That Bay is a special place.
Yes old fish, really didn't think it was that big until I shot it. I actually think the bigger snapper are great eating. Beautiful place. Cheers for the comment

Thanks mate. Will try to incorporate into further vids! Has been great i
Eating so far!
I found a stainless cray noose in one of those crevices a few years ago.. I love swimming up there, but it has tended to be rather barren I thought, good to see some kelp re-establishing there.
That’s a great fish mate 🤙
Most parts still very barren unfortunately
Beautiful snapper mate well done 👍
Cheers Mick 👍
Nice snappers!
teno pai e tama churr that snapper was awesome

It is cold alright , especially when there is a little breeze
Yep. Breeze is the killer!
solid from that spot!
Get lucky sometimes aye!
congrats man, I live in Tasssie. Hope someday we can go spear fishing together!
Sick Man! Would love to come over there one day for some fishing and hunting
Beast, nice bro
Man awesome bro, 👍💯🇹🇹
Cheers Shawn!
Bloody legendary mate. Superb production .. how you going to keep topping those big fish though (like you seem to do every time). How about doing a catch and cook for smoked eel. I've been doing some lately, had some big ones, they're beautiful if they're bled, hung, salted and marinated for a couple days prior to smoking (I didn't even have to get wet lol). Excellent as always anyway mate. Have fun.
Hey nick cheers for the feedback! Yeah, I have definitely been very fortunate to land some amazing fish this year already! Need to get up to the tropics to target some new species (or down south). I've been meaning to go for an eeling mission, used to do a lot as a kid. Will try make that happen soon, smoked eel is delicious!
@@olliecraig-primalpursuit Yeah it is totally when done right. So rich and its $85 a kg if you wanted to buy it. Cheers.
nice the spot bos, hello from Indonesia
that was cool, great content! thanks ollie! music get a bit saming and boring though.
Thanks for the feedback)
Awesome brother love the content. Have you thought of live streaming at all? Might be something to look into
Hey bro. Yes I have. Just need to update my tech gear, not up to scratch
Hey just wondering where you got the flippers from as seabuck don't have them online 🤔 love the video by the way
Work in progress, Stay tuned!
He's a monster cuzzie 🤙
Sure was!
Solid!!
Persistence pays!
Sometimes!
Nice fish bro 👌
Cheers bro
Good fish!
Thanks Daniel!
NICE!!!! 😎
Cheers!
Hey mate what earbuds would you recommend for spearfishing iv got sensitive ears and they get sore pretty quick when trying to equalize
Hey mate I’ve never used them so can’t help you out be there. Popular ones seem to be docs pro plugs and surf ears
Great video, that's one hell of a snapper too. Quick question - after you shot the first fish and you were waiting for the burley to bring in fish and you're above the water talking to the camera with no mask on, how come you aren't worried about sharks coming in for a look? I'd always be conscious of anything coming in! Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! They are predominantly only Bronze Whaler sharks up in the waters where I spear. I'm not worried about them they would only be interested in stealing the fish burley, not me.
Hey man, reason you use mono shooting line as opposed to dyneema right through? Awesome videos by the way!!
I like it for faster reloading. But for targeting big fish out wide near reefs I would reccommend dyneema
Beast!
Sure was!
Sick brus meannn as 🔥🔥🔥
great video man! can i ask a question, when i dunk my gopros the audio is crap afterwards, are you doing anything when you pop up and talk to the camera or have a special cover for the mic? cheers man
Nah mate I just give them a quick shake. What gopro are you using? The later models have much better audio
@@olliecraig-primalpursuit I have few 8s and a 9. I haven’t tried the 9 yet but on the occasion I dunk one on the boat to film and bring it up to tall to it, it can be terrible at times. But yours was sweet as! Great vid too man! It’s a cool spot that one 🤙
@@AdriftFishing not sure if yours in in a housing? Mine is always km the dive suit
@@olliecraig-primalpursuit nah no housing. Maybe that’s the trick
do you use a weightbelt? in this video you didn’t show you having one. if so how do u stay down
Yes I always use a weight belt. Forgot to show that in the video intro with the gear!
enjoying your content. its a new hobby for me, so good learning spear diving etiquette and some tips to hit the snapper
Goood stuff mate. I’m sure you will love the sport!
Nice video Ollie! where you got your gears? ie that open cell gloves
They are from Seabuck. I actually prefer non open cell (I think they have some new ones coming out soon)
Epic vid khuzz. Tumeke👍👍
Cheers bro!
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
Hey man, Amazon catch congrats! I am planning a Spearfishing trip in New Zealand, which areas would you recommend for me to go ? Let me know probably we could do something together
Cheers mate. North Island is best plenty of options. Have a read up of some forums online plenty of information. Can’t go wrong in summer months
