He's our son, but I have a whole other business/social media account that's just me so I often say "my kids, my son, my daughter" on that one so people don't think I'm crazy and referring to myself as "we". Not shiplap. You're using tongue and groove or t&g for short. Shiplap has rabbets cut into each edge and the bottom edge of one board covers the top edge of the board below it. Thank you for mailing it correctly, through the tongue giving you a wall w/o nail holes. Looking good. You guys must be getting more excited each day! Great job plugging away even when you don't feel like doing it! Keep up the great work!
So, not to nitpick, but the material on the wall actually IS shiplap. It has the rabbets on the top and bottom. For our ceiling, we will be using T&G so we will get to have experience using both products.

@@OneFootOfftheGrid that’s a tough question. I would probably say the electrical episodes were my favorites thus far. I’m also a huge animal lover so anything with the dogs, chickens and ducks are great. I’m a woodworker so I am looking forward to seeing the finish carpentry work later!
Bet you cant wait to have a proper spacious shower 🚿 🥳 Can't you save that water in the bath to water your garden? Shame to let it go to waste. Maybe design something to save your grey water for gardening in the future 👍
We can't wait for a full size shower. It will be even better when we get to use the master shower. We didn't setup our septic to be able to divert gray water from black water. It's a great idea though.. We are planning to do a rain water capture off of our roof though, so we can always use that water for the garden.
For this company they ship all their cabins with the shiplap interior if you have exterior insulation like we did. I bet you could opt to leave it out though and finish the interior with sheetrock.
It gives it more of a log cabin look on the inside. Plus, it seems a little more diy friendly. We don't have to learn the skill of dry wall which seems to be a little more complicated.
