- In July 2018 The Angels performed a special orchestral concert alongside the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and backed by a choral ensemble…. and they'll be doing it again!
Here is a sneak preview of "Marseilles" in some exclusive footage from that Sold Out show in Adelaide. You can view it as a forerunner to repeat performances of this show in April 2019.
Video 9 of 10 in this series shows just how universal "Marseilles" can be as it gains momentum from the addition of an orchestral arrangement along with choral enhancement.
its Beautiful....
Love IT!!! The sound is great!!!! Chears from Portugal
Yes the best
🇵🇹
Chears from... Marseille !!!!!
Cheers
Glad to see so many are hip to this song. I found it while looking for "Take a Long Line". The studio version is always better but the orchestra adds a good background.
This is simply awesome!!1
Outrageously good. If only the concerts they schedule would go in. We have tried 3 times to see the ‘symphony of angels’. Cancelled each time, months in advance
cant promise to behave...as the great BILLY THORPE said...let 'em dance this is my fkn show....
Awsome !
love to be there
please bring this show to mid nth coast............
Sounds great with the singer from Screaming Jets
KILLER
Good to see Gleeso doing the frontman
there is no the "voulez-vous promenade avec moi ce soir" this is a shame !!!!!
A tad Faster ... But I'm sure DOC would have been Impressed 😁
@@Boyhowdy875 Let's dig him up and ask him 😏
Great band, but there’s no replacing Doc Neeson
Dont fuck with excellence. Only Doc up front and piss off the fuckin orchestra. Pure Angels are best.
Back in the 80s, I loved The Angels and in the 90s loved The Screaming Jets, but the Brewster boys should have been looking for a Doc substitute. Unfortunately Dave, it ain't you mate.
You're kidding mate. I am aware of the criticism Dave got from many Aussies, but c'mon, he did a great job filling in for Doc. When it comes to criticising a replacement for a great lead singer, you should refer to Brian Johnson replacing Bon Scott.
@@groovedohg Brian has only been the lead singer of AC/DC for forty years....
@@groovedohg Just as a side note Paul, my sister just sent me the latest edition AC/DC shirt last week after turning sixty. I also still have my AC/DC tshirt from the Back In Black concert at Sydney showground back in 1981. And of course many others including a not too long ago release of a Dirty Deeds shirt, my very first album of Bons back in '76. Still want to tell me about Australian rock history?
@@michaelpilgrim2599 So???????. 40 years...OK. But does that make him a great singer and frontman? Not in my books. Cmon. It was the Back in Black album that made him. Back in Black was the last decent album ACDC did. It's all to do with hype. The Rolling Stones will always sell out mega stadiums even though they are totally embarrassing. People just want to have a part in history and say they saw them in concert to their grand kids. I was a huge obsessive Quo fan in the 70s, but I accepted the fact that after Live Aid they turned into a laughing stock. It happens to so many bands. Money and ego. Final note.... Sometimes totally different replacement singers are a godsend eg Dio from Ozzy. Even though Hagar was a much better singer than Dave Lee Roth, it was the DLR era only that ruled. Same with Bon Scott. Personally, Mark Storace or the Heaven singer would have been a better replacement in my books
@@groovedohg Right.... Where do I start on the reply to this one Paul 🤔 Firstly, music is purely objective. You usually either like a band/singer or you don't. Secondly, I straight ignore 'charity' gigs. They are cobbled together in five minutes, only make the organisers rich and pretty much make any secondary band/singers sound like shit because they are denied the use of the 'main acts' equipment. Check out Quo from 2017 Live At Wacken. Far from a laughing stock mate. Hold You Back is AWESOME!
Gleeson's no Doc Neeson
No, he's his own showman! but he's equally great and about the only frontman I could see ever stepping in for Doc without trying to replace him
Why bother ffs its like whatshisname tryed to get the divinyls gig going without Chrissy Amplett.
No he's not.But he's fkn great .He does a great job .Moreso he really loves the band and everything about Aussie rock.Dave will be a legend for sure he's done shitloads for Oz music
@@mmc7372 exactly bud.Dave does amazing job of replicating a god!
@@Stelly669 100% he is own man and fits like a old glove .
Could do without the interpretive dance and interpretive tongue and semi-Shirl acting out. Song itself came off OK considering you normally don't even bother to do something this loud with an orchestra.
The poor drummer he would have done so much better 🫢🫢🫢
What the fuck is this? Not the Angel City i know.
Why bother? =$$$$$$
Time to retire gracefully
Gleeson is embarrassing.
