I was introduced to him last night at 11 pm. I watched another video, then I looked at the clock and realized I had been watching for a good while. It was 3:45 am.
Same thing with me, I watched one reaction video, then after about 7 hours I'd watched over 50 of them!!

Maybe you don’t know who is the inspiration and the idol of dimash. She is a Belgian singer called Lara Fabian. And maybe you should listen her singing in live : « je suis malade » to really understand what is a pure emotional storytelling.

Theres something in our biology that makes us crave the leadership of charismatic confident marvels like Dimash in a way thats impossible to resist when they display their dazzling mind boggling dominance like he does here.

Not only has Dimash trained since he was 5 yrs. old, he loved to get on stage with his mother who is also a singer from the time he was a 2 yrs. old....no wonder he's confident. Dimash is a natural born performer and the stage is his 2nd home:-) Another reason to love Dimash is although he's extremely talented and confident, he's NOT arrogant or conceited but very humble and appreciative of his family, friends and fans.
You want story telling, you want to watch "Daybreak" from Bastau or "Autumn Strong" from The Singer. Daybreak is a master course in Stage Presence. Autumn Strong is all about understated beauty. Love the Reaction.

I agree with the others, he's not actually interpreting the lyrics of this song which are kind of sad. He's telling the story of his own awesomeness here lol. But he's a superb storyteller in every other song & invariably moves me to tears. A suggestion I haven't seen yet is Samaltau, the story of the tragedies of 1916. Out of this world 💔

@@lindahake1666 Well, here's the translation... It's a very sad song about despair & loneliness & autumn storms etc. Not really what he's bringing across. I still love it though & I actually love his choices here. You could say he's making light of tragic opera, I like this idea!

I think his Passione New Wave 2019 performance may be interesting for you to react. In that performance there is also a big production taking place around him, and he is somehow acting as a part of this production along side his vocals.

Thank you for your analysis!! If it's story telling you are looking for again, then "Autumn Strong" from Singer 2017 is probably the best song to watch from Dimash. It's about the real life story of a Japanese-born Chinese female singer and it's the first song Dimash learned in Mandarin. It's a beautiful melody and Dimash showcases amazing artistry. Be sure to react to Gloria Wu's version, where she is also giving the backstory in the video and has provided subtitles (search "Gloria Wu Dimash Autumn Strong" and it's the first to pop up).
"Daybreak" from Bastau is also an amazing storytelling song. Again, based on a real story (and quite sad).
In any case, I highly recommend "Ogni Pietra" from his Arnau concert. It's an anthemic operatic song, one of Dimash's best moments in my personal opinion. It's really really powerful, magestic and so vocally demanding!!! I don't think there is anybody right now who could sing the song the way Dimash does.

Totally agree with all 3 of those! I cried the first time I watched Autumn Strong, and that was without the subtitles - it was purely the way Dimash sang it, the emotion & storytelling in his voice, his gestures...and all that having only a week to learn it in a language he didn't know! Janet, in case you didn't know, he was invited onto The Singer as a wildcard, having won competitions back in Kazakhstan - he was 22 and came out as the 1st contestant on the 1st show & sang SOS (the vid you reviewed last time was a later one by 2 or 3 yrs) and just blew everyone away! Just for fun, watch the vid of it & you'll see the reactions :D He won that week's vote and came back next week & did this one & won the vote again (not surprisingly!). Overall at the end of the competition, he came 2nd and so the world domination began!!! I've been Dimashed for a year now and was gutted to find out I'd missed a concert in London by 2 months :( so am hoping so much he comes back...or at least gives us some crumbs by finally releasing a CD!! I love your reactions - please do some more soon! :)

Dimash always has a powerful stage presence, always is in character, always tells the story. But I can recommend one particular song that stands out for me. It's just Dimash, sitting on a stool, before an enormous audience hanging on his every utterance, a piano playing softly, the orchestra quiet in the background, off-stage. His voice and mannerisms are the whole show.

I won't complain if you also review Adagio, All By Myself, Sinful Passion, Ogni Pietra, Passione... or anything at all by Dimash, really. It's fun to see your astonishment as he shows us fresh vocal techniques in almost every song.
Janet-I love your reactions as always. But if you react to more dimash songs from The Singer series, make sure you check Gloria Wu's channel to see if she has the song's backstory. Several Dimash songs have incredible deep and powerful stories that need to be hear to understand why Dimash chose to perform them. The backstory is then followed by The Singer performance. (this was the only song performed by Dimash with no story behind !!!! (In fact there is a story behind: Opera 2 was performed so much better than the original that the author Vitas went to Chinese court to prohibit Dimash performing any of his songs ever again !!! When Dimash performed "Adagio" (China 2017) following arrangement of Lara Fabian - Lara called him and congratulated him!!!!!! there are different species of people in this world !!!!).

Great reaction! This performance was just Dimash having fun, and firing up the audience. This is the only time Dimash sang Opera 2 in public. His performance was so good, Vitas (original artist) threatened to sue Dimash if he ever performed it again. If you want to grade Dimash on feeling, Adagio is an excellent choice for one of his early performances. His English isn't perfect, but his delivery is.

Thank you Janet for getting back to Diumash. PLEASE don't wait so long until you get back to him again. Even if you skip ahead to one of his more recent songs a good one would be Ogni Pietra also known as Olympico that was written by Maestro Igor Krutoy just for Dimash. It won an annual award for 2019 & you can pick between any version except for at the European Olympic ceremony since they only briefly showed him singing.

If you want to see all of Dimash's range, react to Unforgettable Day at Gakku concert. This man can hit a sustained D8 note. I ultra-strongly recommend this. You haven't heard ANYTHING until you hear his D8 whistle.

Great reaction to Dimash from "I am a singer" 2017 episode 2. Dimash was new and still a little nervous. He was not well know so the more you see from him the better it will be. In 2017 his he had to learn English so that was sometimes not perfect. But like you said when performing a song perfect even with emotion in it who cares about that. Beautiful music is all we whant. In Episode 3 he sings "The show must go on" witch is very good and in Episode 4 he sings Äutumn strong" witch is legendary good.
6:43 DEFINITELY a masterpiece and DEFINITELY entertaining!!! And it seems like this was SOOO long ago!!! And he has advanced so much since this performance.

Hell ya! At 22 yrs old then, you just can't teach that kind of attitude. You can feel his love of all kinds of music in everyone of his performances. You know you mentioned something about his movement during the musical break that hit me. I used to do theatrical lighting for rock bands years ago and the more egotistical the performer the worse performance was, it's "Are they looking at me right, how do I look?" and they forgot the damn song. The more I read of what a humble, generous, funny and greatful young man he is you can see he's doing it for the love of music and the feelings it stirs in his audience! BRAVO DIMASH

The piano player in most of Dimash's videos is a renowned composer who now writes for Dimash exclusively with just one exception a Kazakh child Daneliya Tuleshova for whom Dimash stepped out of the World's Best competition 2 years ago when he discovered he was to compete against her. She is just 10 years old when she Performs Stone Cold by Demi Lovato in this video which I recommend you react to. Leave it run into the judges comments for just a further 2 minutes when she sings a second song in Ukrainian to understand why it has almost 67 million views and is exceeded only by the 100 million views she has received for her audition on AGT Fan site for another song. In terms of confidence and talent there isn't another on this planet to hold a torch to her - except her fellow countryman Dimash of course -
You must listen to Dimash "Sinful Passion" Sochi concert and then "Ogni Pietra". They will blow your mind.
I think you would love to react his perfomance of sinful passion, love is like a dream or late autumt. All amazing stage performances aswell as vocal performances.

yes! I had said to a friend of mine, I believe if you were to somehow view and hear a Dimash performance in the middle of a war, you would cease fire and would have to watch and listen. He is like the pied piper!

When you will watch Daybreak from Bastau concert,you will cry,because of dramatic story, what happened in China and what leave little boy alone,he saw his parents dying. They sacrificed their lives for little baby....so so sad,can't listening without tears.....
