I don't know if the rifling will actually give the darts spin, but if it were to, then the darts would fire straighter. Rifling on an actual gun barrel works because the bullet fits much tighter in the barrel, and the pressure from the explosion at the base of the round pushes it through the barrel.
I use an old dremel my grandfather gave me before he passed away. It seems to be the same type as yours, so I do believe you can use yours. It's not the tools that truly matter, but the worker's ability to use them.
because the AR (air restrictor) limits the amount of force that is delivered, keeping the internals from slamming into each other when it is dry fired. without them, unless a dart is in the gun, there is nothing to supress the force, and the internals bash into each other, which will break them after awhile. note that removing the ARs and firing with a dart in will still eventually break the gun, but nowhere near as soon. and while the AR helps, dry firing with the AR intact will bring range
+MysteriousBaconKing it is actualy better side ways because 1) it doesnt get in the way of priming the blaster 2) the springs in the clips are pretty weak, so feeding sideways will help
Rifling in a barrel only works with high velocity projectiles. You can't realistically put a spin on a textured surface like a foam dart using plastic ridges and an air plunger delivery system. It's probably there for aesthetic purposes.
The retaliator spring is stronger than the rampage's, so, used that with a maverick or strongarm spring. I didn't use the splat's because my catch was about to break. P.S. doesn't it become hard to prime the blaster?

I saw your modifications and all that , but it's my one and only rampage what means that I would be sad if something bad happens to it... My question is , should I modify it later , when I am more experienced , older and already tried it ,or should I do it now ? Thank for answering ( if you answer ) .... Also , have you seen the blaster stock ( from the modulus ) ? You know , it has a Jolt range ... Hey Drac, in a video a while back you said that nobody had replicated your radeioactive (or how ever you spell it) mavericks. So i did replicate them, I couldnt do the LED's because i dont have a radio shack around but, i did replcate them.
Vortex is way easier to mod, don't even need to change the spring. They actually give you three notches to hook to torsion spring and it comes with medium setting out of the factory.
I have a rampage and i warn you keep your darts in exellent condition or it will jam every time i have to load it slowly and look down the barrel to check every time i prime it
My rampage is super reliable. Just grease your internals and maintain it well and the gun should work fine. Every gun i own works like a dream because of how I care them.
frankguerrie I recommend you get an orange modworks kit for you favorite gun. Its like steroids for your gun and it won't shrink your gun's balls. Also, it comes with silicone grease which what I'd recommend. Don't use silicone spray or wd40 to grease.

@LordDraconical Hmm maybe you should upgrade your Deathdealer with the Massacre kit? If your using the stage 1 kit. I say stick with it till it lasts and move onto the Rampage. Your HVZ videos are definitely the most entertaining ones and your end of the year doomwar, I think everyone would love to see the nerf vampire in action. I need to upgrade or exchange my camera in order to upload videos.
It's not just nerf. Rifling would be useless in airsoft and paintball, too. In real guns, the barrel is too small for the bullet. When you fire, the gunpowder creates an explosion. This explosion heats the bullet and it "melts" into the rifling grooves, forcing it to spin out. This concept doesn't work for compressed air blasters. People have experimented with rifling on the actual dart, but since the weight is inconsistent and the velocity is low, it doesn't have a noticeable effect.
At :54 is it possible to mod the Retaliator grip (useless on said gun) and add it onto the Rampage? I like that grip for, well, the grip, over the Rampage's stock, plastic grip. I'm asking this because my hands sweat up a lot and I lose some grip on my slides / bolts.
@silvermavrik I modded a maverick that makes streamlines scream (A.R removed, spring streched with 3 pennys between the spring and the rest), it hit 50 feet last time I measured.

Real rifles are built to much tighter specifications = the bullets have a larger diameter than the rifling ridges in the barrel. When fired, the rifling actually cuts grooves into the metal jacket of the slug when it engages the barrel. The "rifling" on these barrels is, in all probability, not going to induce any spin in the darts at all, which are moving far too slowly to benefit anyway. It's like putting a nitrous injection system on a bicycle.
Drac do you think with the Elite blasters having a direct plunger tube that modders will put in an angel breech and stefan mod the clips so these blasters can be used in the NIC?

No. It's metal for a reason. It won't break if you give it a heavier spring.

I'd like to see someone make the clip go DOWN not sideways, it makes 18 dart stick round mags more practical. Actually, I am planning on doing one :D

Rampage is more complex as compared to maybe a nite finder or strongarm

Me and I am going to double stack a recon spring with a retailator spring and the retrofit a recon with retailator internals.
i learned that if you cut down on the tube where it meats the new dart tooth door it will push the dart in depper yet getting a better seal

Put a drill to it and drill it out or get a pick and hammer lightly until you break the plastic and get needle nose pliers as remove

When I fire mine, I hear a sound like a spring snapping back into place. Is this because the catch isn't secure enough or is it the main spring?
A Nerf Modders favourite/most used tools:
1. Dremmel
2.Needle nose pliers
3.Hot glue gun
4. Epoxy putty
5.Screwdriver!

because the plunger, with the air restrictor removed, will slam into the tube with more force causing it to wear down faster.

Just got mine. That orange jam door opposite the drum feed was the first thing to go. This thing jams way too much to have that thing on!
What should I purchase? A rampage or a retaliator? I am not sure which one performs better consistently. Please give me some feed back
you can put more pvc pipe for longer barrer and melt retaliator in front grip and now you got grenade luncher under your gun

i modded my darts by removing the rubber cap and replacing it with a thumb tack and then added staples to the main tube to compensate for weight

All the barrels are rifled, whether Elite or not.

The barrel adds to accuracy but decreases range, so if you take cut off the barrel, you'd only increase the range, not accuracy.

You can get the springs at orange mod works or get them in a old blaster that doesn't work ore you hate it and its a shitey blaster
