My husband has one of these Victorian Crazy Quilts, with the fun embroidery 🪡🧵 on the seams, that his grandma made. This is just precious! I love how fast and easy it becomes with the templates. Those need to go on my wishlist. Thank you for demonstrating and explaining so well. I appreciate it, you build such confidence in us. God be with you till we meet again.😊🍀🤟💖🙏🦓✂️🌞Liz in Northern California
It would also be a fun look to do the centre star in one colour, then the surrounding pieces in another and the corners in a third colour. Beautiful quilt. Thanks from Canada.
Yes - I saw this done with the center star in same color-very pretty. Also other designs on pkg. I ordered mine from Amazon $15.96. Just sent for it. Has tons of options
I am going to use all of those decorative stitches on my machine that have been there for years (more like decades) that have never been used. Thanks for the inspiration.
Such a beautiful quilt! I love how bright it is! And love the idea of different stitches. Thank you so much for the love you put in all your work, just for us! May the Lord bless you!
Jenny my grandma made me one ,she was 80 years young and wore the big thick glass , she had cataracts. It hangs on on liver room wall . I’m very proud of this quilt . My grandma told me to bring her scrap and she would make me a quilt . It took her a year..all by hand
What a nice story! ✂️i💜Wish youtube would enable texting capabilities so you could post a picture of your special quilt in the comments. I and probably others would love to see and appreciate your treasured quilt from your loved one🌞.
I am so happy to see a tutorial for this template set. Bought them a few years ago and intimidated on using them. Thanks Jenny for making so much easier to follow. Can't wait to use up scraps and my decorative stitches too,
I have done 3 quilts like this and what I did to vary the fabric was to take the five stacks and on A stack leave it, on B stack take one from the top and put it on the bottom, C take 2 from the top and move them to the bottom, D 3 from top to bottom and E, 4 from the top to the bottom. Then just take the top piece from each pile and sew them together. I also chain pieced each of the sets then put them together... no fuss no guessing. They turned out awesome! Love all your tutorials!
What a cool and cute couch quilt this would make. Ty for continuing to share. You are always such a pleasant and fun person to listen and learn from. God bless all
Gorgeous thank you ! by the way. The fancy stitches in the many days ago gone by was also a kind of resume for a seamstress looking for work. . Love this quilt
I have always loved the vintage crazy quilts since I learned to embroidery before quilting. Completing true (but updated) crazy quilt is on my bucket list!
I love all of your tutorials and have enjoyed them for a long time. Particularly now, though, during this "Stay Home, Stay Safe" lockdown, I want to say that your videos are a Godsend to me. Thank you, and please keep posting. ❤
I LOVE crazy quilts and this one is beautiful! I just bought a new sewing machine and haven't had a chance to try out most of the stitches, so now's my chance. Thanks MSQC!!
Love this quilt and the colors are just scrumptious! I would have liked to see closeups of the fancy stitching, and even a little action doing it on the machine.
I thought this was going to be a tutorial for the periwinkle template, that's what MY brain saw 😄 Love this! I love playing with the decorative stitches on my machine, so I will definitely give this a go. 💛💛
Marilyn Morris, Texas, Just received these templates and I'm so excited to use them, thank you so much for simplifying the steps and explaining it so well ! I can't wait to try them! I can see Sooo Many possibilities! Love your tutorials!
Janet Brandes, Haha, that actually happened to me! My mom loaned me a video she got with her Janome machine on how to make a crazy patch vest. It was cut in a similar way, without the templates. I cut all the pieces out of satins, velvets, and brocade. Put them in a plastic box with some notions and forgot about it till I moved about 17 years later! I think I gave them away! I think I was so overwhelmed (we quilters have a way of accumulating projects, & I moved into a tiny apartment). The clothes I was making the vest to go with no longer fit. I don’t know why it never occurred to me to make a wall hanging out of it! (Actually, I think it was more like about 8 years! Got my decades mixed up, lol 😂)
I’ve been eyeing those templates for a while now. I guess I’m going to be getting them sooner rather than later! Lol. As always, thank for the tutorials!
Just order them today, and i must say i'm impressed with your idea of it. But now i have 3 sets of these crazy quilt templates so thinking i could do some real designing with them, can't wait.
I have had the template for the crazy eight but couldn't visualize how it would look. This is just great and I will put it on my list to make. Thanks Jenny.
Another AWESOME quilt tutorial! Jenny & MSQC....you are absolutely amazing. I normally don't like Primary Colors like this...but I think this is so pretty....so colorful. Color and enjoyment is JUST exactly WHAT we all NEED right now. This could be just as pretty with light colors and a white or soft yellow!! So, you didn't mention the width of the black fabric that surrounds the other colors....???? Can't wait to get started on this !
Jenny love your tutorial every week but today... this is so cool!... I saw the star right away.. and I can picture a patriotic quit with stars in the middle!... guess what I'm making? Thanks again
Jenny right after you cut the templates out rotate the fabric from the 1st template move 1 piece to the bottom, from 2nd template move 2 pieces to the bottom and so one. Then all the fabrics are already mismatched.
Love this and the fabrics together also are super.. What a great way to make a modern crazy quilt...stay safe thanks for your Friday videos, wouldn't miss them;)) waves from afar Julierose
Thank you; as always it is a delight to watch you. I saw one of these blocks made into a quilt on the Fbk QAYG group and liked it, but I wanted to see how to do it before I invested in the templates. BTW how about a tutorial for how to make a giant thimble pincushion (as seen to the left of your machine). I'd love to make one in a small flower pot (since I don't have a giant thimble) and then I'd make a whole bunch for all my sewing friends.
I love that you are here for us - but, please, be safe & if you all can - please please self quarantine- we are such a mess here in NY - it looks like this virus is just spreading out. If you need to lock it up for a time & can, please do - we want you long term. Love you, Missouri Star.
Take the 5 stacks of fabric and line them up, then move the top fabric in stack 2 to the bottom, the top 2 fabrics in stack 3 to the bottom, the top 3 fabrics in stack 4 to the bottom, then bring the bottom fabric in stack 5 to the top. This ensures that all the fabrics will be different. And if you want make the blocks different, do the same thing, but move an additional fabric in each stack. This was how I was taught when I made stack ‘n whack quilts.
This would make a great quilt-as-you-go project. You quilt each block separately. Then cut one inch wide black washing and connect the blocks. For the outside blocks, you could add the 2-3 inch border to each block and quilt.
Pat Dahme , Gotta love those spell checkers. When we want them they are a help, but most of the time they end up changing the words and meaning of what we’re trying to say. Frustrating!
You have five cuts on each cake. Mark each cut 1 - 2. On 1 take top and move to the bottom. On 2 take top 2 and move to bottom. Three top to bottom and four top to bottom and five leave. You will have no matches.

Awww, such a sweet quilt from a sweet soul. So good to keep seeing your smiling face in this trying time. Stay safe & sane😘
We're so glad you enjoyed it, Martha! Stay safe and stay healthy!
Just what I needed: a little bit of Jenny.
Jenny, I love all the different stitches over the seams!!!
It would also be a fun look to do the centre star in one colour, then the surrounding pieces in another and the corners in a third colour. Beautiful quilt. Thanks from Canada.

Missouri Quilt Star’s hometown is on my wish list! Enjoy watching Many thanks for all of your visual tutorials!
Really enjoyed this video. Also that you encourage people to play with their machine! Hope all are well at your place. Stay safe.
Not planning to quilt, but had to drop by and note how pretty is todays's design.
I usually struggle with scrappy and odd shapes, but this is beautiful.
Also love what you've done with your hair.
Jenny my grandma made me one ,she was 80 years young and wore the big thick glass , she had cataracts. It hangs on on liver room wall . I’m very proud of this quilt . My grandma told me to bring her scrap and she would make me a quilt . It took her a year..all by hand
Tommye Taylor blessed memories to last forever.

What a difference those different stitches make to the overall character of the quilt - it turns it right into a darling!

This is a well timed tutorial, because we all have a little time that we never saw coming. Thank you Jenny.
Nicqui LARTIGUE yup, time for fancy stitching! 🙂
WOW....what a great idea...thank you Jenny
What a cool and cute couch quilt this would make. Ty for continuing to share. You are always such a pleasant and fun person to listen and learn from. God bless all
What a wonderful idea. No thinking quilt
Love this one! I bought a pack of the bright colors because they were so pretty. Now I know what to do with them. Thanks Jenny!
LOL the 'gif' of jenny and misty on the confirmation order. Made me smile.
Thanks Jenny for keeping us all stitching at this trying time.
Thank you Jenny! I have always looked forward to your Friday video but now I really need them. Thanks for what you always do but especially now.
Gorgeous thank you ! by the way. The fancy stitches in the many days ago gone by was also a kind of resume for a seamstress looking for work. . Love this quilt
Love this !! I’ve just bought the scrappy 6”. The 8” are next on my wish list. Love watching you Jenny here in the UK 😍

Great tutorial... Have used this template for years... Does more than just crazy quilts...
This would be a great stash buster!
Thank you - I just got this set of templates and now I’m ready to tackle that Kaffe Fassett layer cake!
I LOVE crazy quilts and this one is beautiful! I just bought a new sewing machine and haven't had a chance to try out most of the stitches, so now's my chance. Thanks MSQC!!
Could you do a video of all your 18th century quilts? I’d love to see them all close up. Thank you for sharing this video and quilt!
Thanks for all your videos!!
Thanks for this fun idea. I made one of my own and it look great!
love it can't wait till my temples come in so cute thank you Jenny

Love this quilt and the colors are just scrumptious! I would have liked to see closeups of the fancy stitching, and even a little action doing it on the machine.

Thank you Jenny!
Another great tutorial! I love the bright colors and the stitching makes it pop!!
I thought this was going to be a tutorial for the periwinkle template, that's what MY brain saw 😄 Love this! I love playing with the decorative stitches on my machine, so I will definitely give this a go. 💛💛

Love this quilt! Really enjoy those intense colors. I can imagine this quilt on the bed of a child. Thanks for sharing.
This block looks so cool!
Crazy quilt for a crazy time! I’ve always loved crazy quilts. I’m going to go buy the supplies now!
Love this quilt fast and easy. Ordering today
This is fantastic and looks like so much fun!
I can see this quilt in a single colorway, with the star in a different color. Thank you Jenny. But I love the bright colors.
My brain went immediately to narrow black sashings around each piece for a stained glass look! 😍
Jen Elks I bet you can totally make it look like that by using a tight black zigzag instead of decorative stitches.
@@heather196 even better, less work!
Yeah, such a good idea!
Thanks. These templates are fabulous. Fast and easy to sew together.
Thanks Jenny love crazy patch designs. Great for bags.
Love the look of the cra,y quilt.
Oh my... a rotating cutting mat! Christmas list!!
GMTE Girl, I have one and love it. You can also order a pressing mat to go on top.
Marilyn Morris, Texas, Just received these templates and I'm so excited to use them, thank you so much for simplifying the steps and explaining it so well ! I can't wait to try them! I can see Sooo Many possibilities! Love your tutorials!
Love this, another great quilt.. and very timely with lockdown, we all have extra time now
Just beautiful! Can you imagine finding these pieces in a tote a year after you cut them out? What the heck was I going to do with these?
Haha! That's a very good point, Janet! This project will definitely need a label!
(Actually, I think it was more like about 8 years! Got my decades mixed up, lol 😂)
That's a beautiful quilt! Love how u set it in stars. You are so good, love watching your videos😃

Oooh, I love this one!
Just bought these templates. Love that star.
Love this!
Love it 😍
Thank you! Yes, I love this one. Got the video link from your new website after doing the quiz. :) :)
I love a crazy quilt. I had a book about it for Christmas. right now, I'm making crazy hexagons (as you go template) with silk ribbon embroidery
Another AWESOME quilt tutorial! Jenny & MSQC....you are absolutely amazing. I normally don't like Primary Colors like this...but I think this is so pretty....so colorful.

This could be just as pretty with light colors and a white or soft yellow!!
So, you didn't mention the width of the black fabric that surrounds the other colors....????
Can't wait to get started on this !
If you cut a 1” strip and sew with 1/4” seams, you'll get a 1/2” sashing that lays perfectly flat.
The sashing was made with 1-1/2" strips. Hope this helps!
Jenny love your tutorial every week but today... this is so cool!... I saw the star right away.. and I can picture a patriotic quit with stars in the middle!... guess what I'm making? Thanks again
This gives it such a stained glass look that I wonder how it would look with black thread for the decorative stitches.
Jenny right after you cut the templates out rotate the fabric from the 1st template move 1 piece to the bottom, from 2nd template move 2 pieces to the bottom and so one. Then all the fabrics are already mismatched.
Barbara Baker Then you have five scrappy scrabbled blocks with the same colors organized in a ready to sew manner...very cool.
Hi and thanks a lot! This is so cool! I’d love to give it a try some day! 🌸🌸
This would make a GREAT quilt as you go project!!❤️
I'm thinking tula pink😁 fabrics
OMG Jenny it looks like trying to do a jigsaw puzzle blind! It has completely flamoxed me! But the quilt looks amazing.

I'd love to try this and do the stars in colors, but all the other pieces be in different tones, like off white and ecru, eggshell, Etc.
I’ve been collecting satin brocades to make a crazy quilt. This would make it so much easier.
Thank you for sharing ❤️💗

love watching your videos im a newbie and still trying to match a half square triangle 🤔

"Sashing", not "washing".

LOVELY JENNY FROM PAKISTAN
But I am learning a lot from you and am trying some of the tutorials along with watching you.
Maravilhoso blok
I love all of the tools designed by Karen Montgomery of The Quilt Company. This set is so much fun and she also has pattern books to go with them.
Thanks for the tutorial. I would just like to ask if the machine stitching is done before you put the quilt under the long arm quilter?
The decorative stitching was done before it was long-armed. Thanks for asking!
