Not a single person who truly knows tennis would seriously say the #1 woman, whoever she was, could beat a male pro ranked in the top 600. Hell, she wouldn’t be able to beat most top Division 1 male players. Pro level males just serve too hard, hit too hard, and move too fast. It’s not sexist, it’s biology.
as a woman, it upsets me when ppl can’t accept this, bc to me it’s a logical conclusion based purely on biology the male body is faster, stronger, and taller than the female body because of GENETICS - so the best man/men will always beat the best women in sports, NOT because women don’t work hard enough or are inferior or something, but because men were literally born with the necessary biological makeup to do it all better so because of the science, to me there should be no shame in admitting that men are better at athletics based competitions no one is criticizing the dove for being slower than the eagle - it’s to be expected yet people still admire the way both birds fly in my opinion, it takes away from all of a female athlete’s hard work when she/others try to compare her to males it’s apples to oranges, and the categories are separate so that competition is actually fair and enjoyable for both sexes
also, another reason it’s easy for me to admit that men are better at this type of thing is bc there are so many unique things about the female body too! sure, no matter how good a woman is at sports, she’ll probably never beat men at it - but no matter how good a man is at sports, he’ll never be able to grow another human inside of him and give birth each body has different strengths and weaknesses, and i think that’s beautiful :)
@@hannaht1976 thank you . It’s so rare seeing women nowadays stop being biased and look at certain situations as it should. And there’s a lot of thing women are way better than men at. Serena Williams was probably surprised by her loss to a man ranked so low. She even admitted they purposely chose someone that low b/c they thought he'd been easy to beat and it'd be a lopsided win for her. She was very shocked that he crushed her and readily admitted that men - even less talented men - have a HUGE advantage over women in sports. The worst part about the MacEnroe comment was that he got so much hate for it but Serena agreed with him. It’s a good publicity stunt but no one who actually plays tennis would ever say that the women and men are equal. Don’t believe me, look at Serena’s interview about it.
I think it’s the wording that was controversial. Williams said womens tennis and mens tennis were different sports. McEnroe said mens tennis is the better sport. If women were on the same level as men athletically then we would not existed or not be like we know, if women were strong as men, then we would have less men, women wold be at least 1.2 times the size of a man, because women would consume most of the nutrients to be able to compete against other females in strength and also be ready to give birth, but we evolved so men compete agaisnt other male to be able to provide nutrients to the women so they could carry the males genes. So you should be gratefull that we are not a matriarchy species.
I will always enjoy the fact that the Williams sisters claimed they'd beat any man outside the top 200, and a guy outside the top 200, after 2 beers, crushes both of them.

Bobby Riggs did not return shots very hard against Margaret Court either. King was younger, quicker and a harder hitter than Court. King took advantage of Riggs weak returns while Court didn't. We'll never know a precise number anyway, but the notion that hundreds of male players are better than the top female player is no mistery for anyone that follows tennis even at a casual level The interviewer tried to bait him into a loaded question, and he just gave a direct, honest answer... if you want to talk about rude, how about Serena's tweet reply that followed this interview?
@miyahtallulah Apologizing for saying something true is not about anything ethical. As much as some would love the gender critical spin, no amount of wishful thinking is going to slow down the average ATP serve or ground stroke to those of a WTA player. The fact that top male athletes have a big power advantage doesn't take anything away from Serena's amazing career, or from women in general. Suggesting otherwise is just embarrassing. The only person who should apologize is the reporter for insulting our intelligence by pushing a bunk narrative.
While this topic has nothing to do with who is 'superior', in this narrow context there are many well documented metrics regarding physical performance of the average man vs the average woman. When it comes to certain physical traits (Strength, speed, endurance, etc) there is one category that stands out above all others, which is the 'violence of action' category. Whether it be a football sled test, body slam, punch force, or rugby smash men exceed women by over double on average - an absolutely massive difference. While tennis is a less physical sport than many others this factor alone matters in tennis in terms of serve speeds where women are about 80% the speed of men, a massive difference. Combine this with greater speed and agility moving about the court and you end up with two different games at top levels. It's just silly to debate this when we have hard data behind it.
There is another reason why top men perform better than top women in tennis, and why they would even if they had no physical advantage over women. It is because many more men than women enter tennis competitions. So the field is much deeper on the men's side. A similar situation explains why the top male chess players are much stronger than the top female players.

Hell, she wouldn’t be able to beat most top Division 1 male players. Pro level males just serve too hard, hit too hard, and move too fast. It’s not sexist, it’s biology.

@hnel435 Lol it didn't take long for SJWs to appear. Whether you accept it or not, nature is sexist so deal with it.
as a woman, it upsets me when ppl can’t accept this, bc to me it’s a logical conclusion based purely on biology
the male body is faster, stronger, and taller than the female body because of GENETICS - so the best man/men will always beat the best women in sports, NOT because women don’t work hard enough or are inferior or something, but because men were literally born with the necessary biological makeup to do it all better
so because of the science, to me there should be no shame in admitting that men are better at athletics based competitions
no one is criticizing the dove for being slower than the eagle - it’s to be expected
yet people still admire the way both birds fly
in my opinion, it takes away from all of a female athlete’s hard work when she/others try to compare her to males
it’s apples to oranges, and the categories are separate so that competition is actually fair and enjoyable for both sexes
also, another reason it’s easy for me to admit that men are better at this type of thing is bc there are so many unique things about the female body too! sure, no matter how good a woman is at sports, she’ll probably never beat men at it - but no matter how good a man is at sports, he’ll never be able to grow another human inside of him and give birth
each body has different strengths and weaknesses, and i think that’s beautiful :)

You're using "literally" out of context (most people don't catch that).
Bobby Riggs did not return shots very hard against Margaret Court either. King was younger, quicker and a harder hitter than Court. King took advantage of Riggs weak returns while Court didn't. There is speculation that Riggs, a big gambler, threw the King match so the mob would cancel his betting debts.
Riggs was more at the entrepreneurial stage by then. Winning actually wasn't important. The figures from the match were the only things that mattered, and Bobby did quite well. When people say that a female athlete in ANY sport should be considered the “best in the world” and not just the best FEMALE athlete in her particular sport, they are being ridiculous.
Yeah, for the Olympics, for example, the male's javelin has a minimum to even compete. But the woman's record throw is not as far as the male's minimum-to-compete. It's completely ridiculous.
Yeah it’s not like you hate woman when you say this, just a fact. Now they even want woman serving as special forces etc, even though they would have to change the requirements for that. They try to create equality but they don’t accept the real difference.
To my knowledge, the only sports that women can actually compete against men are endurance events.
@@auron1987 long distance swimming is the only one I remember, man’s dense bone and higher weight is actually a disadvantage.
@@vamsikrishna3855 not even close. The longest Olympic swimming event is the marathon swim which is 10km. For women is over 2 hours of swimming. The woman that finished first winning the gold medal would have finished dead last in the men's race.
"Have you ever wondered whether the best male boxer could beat the best female boxer?"
"No: next question."
"Have you ever wondered if the best female 100-meter runner could beat the best male 100-meter runner?"
"No. Do you have any more silly questions?"
If this is actually real (which I'm hoping),
Sauce?
Imagine this being explored in the UFC
I mean, I would love to see Amanda Nunes fight a man. She has the best chance by FAR out of any woman, but I do think it wouldn't be a true fight due to the fact that whoever she fights wouldn't want to be permanently labelled "the man paid to hit a woman"
@@cubkul She would get slapped bruh
@@spyox2215 I don't doubt that in a real fight. I feel like in the real world, whatever man they get to fight her would be hesitant to even agree to it, let alone go all out due to the fact that that will almost CERTAINLY be their legacy forever.
Isn’t there a MMA fighter who is trans mtf that is out there cracking female skulls?
@@cubkul Mayweather's fight against Logan Paul was labeled as a legalized bank robbery. Amanda or any girl fighting against any top10 mma guy would be a legalized murder.
your editing is dope
imagine defeating an elderly dude in tennis and celebrating like you won the US open
Imagine being able to compete when even this would have been a radical idea decades back.
AND she knew how he was gonna play
Imagine winning a game that could very well decide the wages of you and your colleagues for the rest of your careers, against a man player who handily beat the best female Australian player.
@@Shalopa9 it would have 0.000 effect on their wages. If Serana Williams beat Nadal or federer today, that might have an impact. Beating an already retired player in his fifties!!! has 0 effect since it's already pathetic you almost lost and some already were beaten
Hmmmmm if only there could be some other reason she celebrated???? I guess we will never know (unless you actually pay attention to the video but you have clearly shown that is too hard of a task for you)
You forgot one. Ryan Sweeting vs. Maria Sharapova. Ryan Sweeting was a nationally ranked top junior player at the time and Sharapova was the #1 player in the world. Ryan beat her quite easily as a junior.
Ryan sweeting was married to Kaley cuoco, which is a win as well.
@@joeceru1107 yup
Make that two. While in high school my friend and I dominated our high school's state champions girlsvolleyball team 3 games in a row when we challenged them to a little exhibition game while they were practicing one night after school. How'd we do it you may ask yourself, because we're awesome, that's how. Carry on.
Not even suprised
The fact that this is even an argument shows how insane the world has gotten
Exploring ideas to change the old ways isn't insanity, that's how human society goes forward.
@@Suimega Yeah... this is tennis, not politics. "The old ways" are the only adequate ones here, because human biology doesn't change very much.
You explore ideas where there is room to explore. Its a fact know since male and female exist that the male gender is physically stronger.
Everyone who thinks Serena could beat a top tennis male pro is a person who isn’t involved or watches sport of any kind.
@@thad1296 Sure, but I'm not one to blame that kind of attitude as hard as you do. Such debates are why we could grow as a culture.
As soon as you change the rules for one side, court size for only one side, and competitor’s age significantly, it ceases to be “a battle of the sexes”.
Yeah, true, but "Battle of the Set-ups" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
They literally changed the rules in her favor and she got crushed 😂
And most people don't even realize how big the advantage is when your given the doubles court to hit the ball.
@@marvinmurakami8828 wow she had the doubles court too? Lol, as if that wasn't enough of an admittance already.
Plus i think in Navratilova vs conors the woman had 2 serves vs 1 for connors.
I hope it was mentioned in their convo.
WH OWA STHE 19 YEAR OLD HE SAID WRONG SCRPIT

@@jacquesjtheripper5922 Right. But I believe it was only half of the doubles sidelines.
John McEnroe is savage. Got to love his honesty.
When being honest is considered savage
@@QSGWorldwide These days, it is. And highly courageous, too.
"Cause if she played against men she would be ranked 705" lmao
I think he was too generous tbh.
@@totetoresano So do many experts.
I bet rank 1000 she would be honestly he’s was generous
Tennis Tournament Structure once outside of top 300 in tennis you are classed as an amateur and not taken seriously to even attempt to qualify for a professional tournament you need to be in the top 300 in your country the same as every country around the world then rank 300th out of them all comes down to amateur tournaments won or placed you could be ranked 705th and only ever played tennis once in your life.
fair game a 29 year old woman that trains every day against a 55 year old man thats not picked up a tennis racquet for 20 years totally out of shape and was drunk when he walked out on the court
To be fair, although ranked >200, Braasch had a very successful tennis career and I think a lot of people don’t realize that, a 200th ranked male player can hang with a
"I can beat anyone ranked below #200!"
Really? That's your brag?
SHe thought she is rational, or maybe her manager told her to cool down with her audacity just before statement. Well, it was still hillarious to see drunk guy making afternoon leisure out of outplaying two pro players
Lucky to beat any male on the pro circuit or challenger circuit either.
🤣
Weird flex indeed
it's male vs female, what don't you get? you literally watched a video about how unequal this is and somehow you missed everything? next you're gonna ridicule female sprinters because they're slower than Usain Bolt
John’s not being rude he’s probably right and meant no harm
No probably about it.
He's right and being rude
@@MakkyNZ see that's not true. Without skipping a beat he said Serena is the best female player of all time. But after that he just stated a fact. Truth might be hard to digest, like that female anchor, but nonetheless it is true.
@@ishaangupta4125 He didn't state a fact. It was just his assessment and opinion. Although he is likely right, it's not fact. And that's why it's rude.
@@MakkyNZ I don't understand the logic... if you admit he's likely right, it means that his assesment is, at least on a rough scale, reasonable, so what makes the remark rude? saying "top 500" instead of "top 700" would be more kind?
We'll never know a precise number anyway, but the notion that hundreds of male players are better than the top female player is no mistery for anyone that follows tennis even at a casual level
The interviewer tried to bait him into a loaded question, and he just gave a direct, honest answer... if you want to talk about rude, how about Serena's tweet reply that followed this interview?
I love how someone who knows nothing about tennis, and is just a talking head, tried to make Johnny Mac apologize. We need more Johnny macs tofay
The good thing is he didn’t apologize.
@Black Flex6 Facts don’t care about feelings. 😂 😂
@miyahtallulah I love the man for that ! He had no reason to apologise - he was simply telling the truth.
The only person who should apologize is the reporter for insulting our intelligence by pushing a bunk narrative.
agree
I've heard from a reliable source that the tennis balls on the WTA have a different weight compared to the ATP. So it basically is a "different game".
