I love how the Doctor denies any involvement in the Dalek's creation before voluntarily giving away the plunger
😂
It's always the doctor - such a troublemaker
The Daleks are inevitable, the Doctor didn’t need want to be close to the details. Timey wimey
Well in all fairness, he says, "The time lines and the cannon are rupturing" meaning this isn't meant to be taken seriously. It's just a joke.
Probably would have been more unstoppable with the claw
David Tennant is the reason I started watching Doctor Who. Love to see him back, if only for a brief time.
David Tennant is the reason I learned to love the return after the OG series had ended for some time.
I started with Rose and was hooked in 10 minutes...that was 8 years ago..
Same here, I can't stop both laugh and cry ❤
David Tennant was my doctor whoever. The other seasons never had the same flair. So I really enjoy when he gets to step in for shorts.
@@geronimo5537 x2
This wouldn't work without the portrayal of Davros being played absolutely straight and intimidating, but that makes the jokes land well without it feeling inappropriate.
Agreed; plus how cool is it that this is a pre-accident Davros, but thanks to Julian Bleach's performance, he's still instantly recognisable, he's absolutely the same character, even in this slightly tongue-in-cheek context?
@EdSigma As soon as he starts talking it's like "ooh, that's Davros"
That’s funny because I felt it didn’t work very well at all, felt a bit too much like MCU ‘humour’ :/
@@EdSigma I thought it was cool to see a ''pre-accident Davros'' until Russell T Davies said that it wasn't.
This is meant to be The iconic Davros we know but they didn't go with his usual design because Russell, in his deluded wisdom, seems to think audiences look at a character like Davros and somehow associate disability with evil. which is ridiculous.
Apparently This Davros will be the one used going forward which is just silly for a character that based the Daleks on himself. war-torn and confined to a chair in the midst of a war seemingly without end. They only came to fruition because their creator was already part Dalek suffering from radiation and confined to life support system.
If Russell ever did a Star Wars he would not use Vader because according to Russell. ''people would see Vader and see Asthmatics as evil'' lol
My apologies for the long read friend . Just had to get it out.
@@sketch_0193He didn't say it wasn't "pre accident" Davros. It very clearly is.
The point he was making was that he didn't put Davros in a wheelchair for this because it would feel weird to have him at the genesis of it as a cripple. It would further solidify the character as the very trope he was pointing out.
Now, do I fully agree with him? Not really. I think it's silly to say that's why it was actually done. It's obvious that he just wanted to sound good to modern audiences, like every person behind a big project does.
Fantastic to see Julian Bleach reprising Davros, that man is an incredible actor 😍
indeed
Yes he is brilliant
prefer him as the nightmare man from sja
He was excellent in that too
@@routeone4790The silent film ghost in Torchwood as well
"It's funny, 60 minutes ago I was this really brilliant woman, and now i've got this old face back again" brilliant line
Well, as *Liberation of the Daleks* is the canonical comic set in between The Star Beast (or, in this short) and The Power of the Doctor, and it seems that the Fourteenth Doctor has spend one hour being active in this comic ... it explains what "has taken 60 minutes".
Just like 13 said "half an hour ago I was a white-haired scotsman", because she had been falling for almost 30 minutes out of her TARDIS - and a few minutes interacting with Yaz, Graham and Ryan and that electrical robotic alien-thingy before saying this very sentence.
"...but nobody liked her, so this face is back!"
@@inspector2363 Well, I suppose, you MIGHT be ... somewhat correct ...
@inspector2363 bit harsh. Next mystery is how he got his old face back
@@inspector2363she had some pretty terrible writing to work with. She was really unlucky
I do love the idea of davros debating what to call the daleks and rejecting some names. Like it had to have happened at some point so its just funny to have it on screen
I agree because I am a qualified lesbian
"The timelines of canon are rupturing" is a delightful bit of dialog.
The first face the 14th doctor sees and its literally a employee of his arch enemies. This bodes well
he had the whole 1 hour adventure in the 14 issues of the Doctor Who Magazine in a Dalek theme-park before (and there is a Sycorax encounter in the 2024 yearbook too - prbably after THIS?). Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet - and Mr Cast-a-villain didn't challenge this intruder of their secret weapon factory, because he claimed to be "a friend"😉
Great to hear Peter Miles as Nyder calling Davros away! Julian Bleach's makeup is really reminiscent of Michael Wisher's Davros mask from 'Genesis...'. Lots of callbacks to the classic series for the fans!
What make-up? that's what Julian bleach looks like.
There's no way you just looked at a man's real face and thought "that's special make-up" 💀💀💀
well he obviously has makeup on but not prosthetics lol
Peter Miles passed away in 2018. Is this archive footage from Big Finish or somewhere, or an impersonator, I wonder?
It's Nicholas Briggs doing the Nyder impression
I love how Doctor calls the first person he sees in the room as his new friend😂😂
This is brilliant! The man who portrayed Davros could not have done that better, amazing!
I mean he literally is the actor who plays davros…
@lyle_waddell yes but Davros had a lot of makeup, so much so it was basically a mask. But he looks like the Michael Wisher Davros as he would have looked before his disfigurement. I thought later actors didn't look quite right, but he does
He’s played Davao’s thought out the new era.
@@stompingfreak8980 He looks like the original Davros, Michael Wisher. But also, he is so good even without the makeup. I was previously unaware of the actor who played him in New who. But he's so much like the one from Genesis of the Daleks
He is davros 😂😂
THE DOCTOR IS BACK!!! The world is healing, my skin is clear, my crops are watered.
And then there all that peace on earth thing.
@@cherylrobinson-atwood8052Don't spoil it ...
The Earth is un-scorched my water is clean!
This Doctor feels like Ten with a splash of Crowley on top.
The angry glance the Dalek gave that dude.
Literally was gonna have a TV excutioner style claw before the dr came in.
I love how David acts so much like Jodie's Doctor up until the "sorry, I am so so sorry" then it slowly sinks back to classic 10
I noticed that too! That post-regeneration chaos~
It's like his trigger phrase.
@@randombencounter263 and when he goes "WELL..."
oh my god I totally missed that, thanks!!
I can picture Jodie saying the first half of the lines 😁
Mawaan Rizwan is sooo good!
Short story, great cast!
Well done, team.
Somehow, somewhere there is a props crew member saying, “Yep. That’s how it happened.” And toasting the screen with a pint. 😂
Well, of course Davros would like the plunger. Fewer moving parts so less can go wrong, easier to mass produce, gives a more balanced silhouette …
I love David Tennant as the doctor. I’m glad he is back. ❤🥰
the suspense before "I like it" had me worried for the assistant.
love it, David Tennant is back!
I just really love how the TARDIS just phases into the room while in movement. A really impactful effect!
It was great seeing David Tennant back and it was scary as we see an early Davros but funny ,too.
Love this!! David is brilliant as ever! Gosh how I've missed him!!
I just didn't realise that Davros is being played by Julian Leach here This is a brilliant video and worth the wait. Brilliant.
or Julian Bleach, conflicting media reports lol
I'm already dying inside.....from both, the comedy of him being him and also the sadness that I'll have to watch him die again
And he didn't die. Chuffed.
@@matthewprice2626 I know!! So great!! That was the most satisfying end I've seen!
I like that he's learned it's better to say "friend" instead of "mate"
nice Nyder cameo
Love that David tennant is back playing the role he was born to play!
Julian Bleach sounds like he’d make a good palpatine
I’m happy and excited that David Tennant is back as the 14th Doctor

@@HazarTulum??
@@adscott27 thank you for proving my point
@@HazarTulum nah
@HazarTulum still confused as to what your point even is?
Damn the classic dalek still holds up
I can't really understand how RTD can think of Davros being in a Wheelchair being offensive because he's a villain. This is utterly nonsense. In fact it's the opposite of that. Hey look! Even in the scifi world of Doctor Who there is a person who still uses a wheelchair. He might be evil but this only shows the range of people suffering from that in real life! I know literally no one who's in a wheelchair and felt that Davros is offensive to them. Changing that would be offensive! I mean it's ok if Davros finally uses the technology to give himself legs again, but I find it somewhat brilliant of the writers, that he is stuck with the moving technology of the Daleks. it binds him to his creatures and shows that not all is fixable with technology. Don't change that because for some misplaced feelings that this might be wrong in some ways. It isn't. The same way as heroes can be people with wheelchairs, villans can be, too!
aww the scottish doctors are my favourites
This is great. Canon and comedy. Wonderful!
And this kids is why you don’t fly the Tardis indoors, you’ll only end up creating the Daleks
😂
In the meantime what has happened to Davros?! I'm aware of the occasional need for change but to recreate a character completely because of fears of upsetting people with Disabilities? The battle scarred look and life support was part of the character
This wasn't a character design change, this is meant to be a Davros set before his mutation.
@bigbruh299 it's the reasons behind it many people aren't too happy about
He wasn't always in the chair? This is clearly set at/near the origin of the daleks... hence the lack of mutation
@bigbruh299 this isn't a complaint, just calling something out for what it is.
@@bigbruh299 I'm not American, I'm British just for future reference
So if the Doctor named the Daleks, and he learned the Daleks name from them, who truly named the Daleks, who wrote Beethoven's 5th
That's exactly what I was thinking! The bootstrap paradox
This is canon you cannot convince me otherwise
It's Bolllocks
Loved it. Allons-y!
The way the dalek looks at the plunger then at the guy 😂😂😂
Priceless! God how I love these.
David Tennant was the best Dr in my mind
The Doctor is finally back! It’s been so long
This mini special was great! Felt like Doctor Who
It has just taken me 48years to realise that dalek is an anagram of Kaled. Doh 😂
bruh how?
lmao
Doctor who is backkkkkk
davros !s insane i wish never saved him
ALLONS Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Julian Bleach is completely top notch
0:08 Choir singing the same chords as Gangster's Paradise for a second there.
love him so much
Love it.
ALL HAIL THE KLADES
The best bit of ret-conning ever. 😂😂😂 I'm so stoked for these upcoming specials!
Love David Tennant it’s like 2006 again
The music fits it perfectly. Has a chaotic vibe to it for sure.
"And an egg whisk, just in case you may want to whip a quick omelette...."
Oh my Goodness!!! I sat in one of these creepy robots as a kid..square wooden seat and peddles ….still terrify me like this though !! 😂❤
Aw, Davros gets to be a regular Kaled while building the Daleks. I believe, before 12's involvement, Davros was already chairbound at this point in the original timeline. Given that he ends up in a chair anyway... at some point... I guess he gets to experience legs for a couple more decades.
RTD says Davros cannot be disfigured in his dalek machine anymore because it casts disabled people as evil. You cant make this stuff up.
😂😂 DT is the best!! I’m so glad he’s back. It’s been my dream for him to come back, and another dream for Donna and him to reconnect!!
We need an episode how Davros came in that chair.
man proceeds you use nearly all his living cells coz he like it, i wish i had his determination
About time
13: Half and Hour ago I was a white haired scotsman
14: 60 Mins Ago I was a Woman!!
Because the Doctor was busy 60 minutes being active in *Liberation of the Daleks* , I assume 🤭
Just like Thirteen was falling for approx. 30 Minutes
What's he talking about?
@@16shogunelitegreen 13 said this to Yaz and Ryan in The Woman Who Fell To Earth!!
And again with the bootstrap paradox😂
I must admit I always felt that there should be a story where the doctor goes back to a time before Davros was disabled in an attempt to persuade him to create the daleks as compassionate creatures. But somehow ends up causing his injuries and accelerating the development of the daleks. Of course the doctor would have to be using a false name perhaps after newly regenerating and not being sure who he is
IT undermines genesis of the daleks though as davros invented them in that story and was in a life support system then
@@Futura2500 in some ways yes but Davros was working on the problem before genesis and had already developed the travel machine casing. So trying to influence him before he actually developed the idea of the daleks being creatures governed by hate in favour of them being humane would not be an out of sequence story
Instant chills omg omg OMG!
AAAH it's Mawaan! I could NOT recognize him with the beard and slick hair and no nailpolish! Love it!
ty was buggin me
Thank you! I thought that’s who it was but I wasn’t sure!
Davros is one of the best fictional Nazis, very accurate portrayal.
and all of a sudden life was good again
Deny it all you want, I’m saying it’s canon. 😂
young Davros gives me evil Victor Meldrew vibes
Absolutely fantastic ❤❤
Julian Bleach does the perfect voice for Davros.
I'm hoping sketch is a backdoor pilot to a Thal-Kaled war spin-off
❤🎉🎉❤🎉❤❤❤
Brilliant⭐
Brilliant ❤🎉
Everyone - "David Tennant is back!"
Me - "Why does the doctor have a plunger just inside his door?"
The Tardis has a loo.
Well, according to 11, there's a pool in the Tardis so a toilet isn't out of the question😅
True, but I have a home with a toilet, but I don't keep my plunger by the front door, it's in the laundry room.
It's an interesting idea for a mini episode. It's a shame they play it for laughs.
That was class . Well done BBC , quintessential Dr Who . Please keep it that way .
Nice!

“60 minutes ago i was this really brilliant woman” 😭😭😭😭😭😭
1:57 thats Nyders voice, he was in Genesis of the Daleks
I feel Miguel was carefully observing off camera.
so funny😁
Cool
This felt very 11th doctor love it
God I wish Tennant could stick around longer.
That's not doctor who. Watch his run if you want him so bad. W Christmas W Gatwa.
If you know the classics then you know Genesis of the Daleks
I just searched Raymond Cusick sink plunger and got the result Shop Raymond Cusick Sink Plunger. I'm not joking!
Controversial opinion, Julian Bleech is the best actor to play davros
The Past Davros!
Woof, imagine if he never showed up
Daleks would’ve had a different name and a scary claw
Claw is probably a tease for the future
Well I don't know what I was expecting when I heard about this but it wasn't this. I kind of love it 😂 sure it's more comedic than doctor who normally is but I love seeing David again (he's my fave of new who) and while they change the reasoning for the design of the daleks as a one off I'm alright with it. It's just fun
Absolute genius. Every second of this is a joy.
Is Davros the guy who played the nightmare man in the Sarah Jane adventures they sound the exact same
Yep 👍
he also played davros throughout the new series
I love that, despite the fact they are in the middle of a genocidal war of attrition, the Kaleds have a branding department. Please have a spinoff about the MadMen of the Kaled-Thal War.
