KTLA’s coverage of the death of Sam Rubin 5/10/2024

KTLA all day coverage of the death of a LA Legend and Local/National/ and International reporter Sam Rubin died in May 10, 2024. I was stunned myself to hear the news so I automatically started recording a portion of KTLA’s coverage. They talked about his passing the entire day and they were on the air the whole day till the end of there 11pm news. This in a way is a National and international tragedy KTLA treated it that way because Sam was based out of KTLA so this was an a National story and they were in the center of, none of other LA stations did wall-to-wall coverage, but KTLA did and they treated like it was a legendary newsmaker or politician who passed it almost reminded me of there coverage when Kobe Bryant passed but that was a tragedy that affected all of LA and all stations were on that. But this directly affected KTLA and he just happened to be a popular figure since it was their tragedy they went all out for coverage it was like the death of Kobe Bryant in the magnitude that it affected the city but it was a tragedy for their station, so I assume that’s why other LA stations covered it but not in the form of wall-to-wall coverage all afternoon and evening like KTLA did.
