I visit every year living not far from here. I have a love for Blackpool. My gf and i always have a good time. Had a good Chinese at a restaurant you passed by on the tram.
I went back to Blackpool in 2018 for first time since I left in 1961 when we lived on Beaufort Avenue off Red Bank Road in Bispham. Then I was 14, now I'm heading towards 80. In 2018 I came on a coach trip and stayed in the Elgin Hotel. Yes, its clientele are mainly old folk, but it looked after us well. I did buy a 3 day tram pass and did the run from Cabin up to Fleetwood and back to Starr Gate and finally back to Cabin. Your video brought it all back. Thank you so much.
I went back to backpool in 2018 for the first time since I left backpool walk on the wild side blackpool England GB great britain 🇬🇧 national anthem god save the king charles coronation on Saturday 6th of March 2023
Only just got round to watching this video the return leg of the journey. Really enjoyed both videos very informative and interesting essential viewing for anyone thinking of visiting the town later on like myself. Thanks Stephen 👍😉
I lived in Fleetwood for 31 years and I moved to Germany early this year. So glad I found your channel as I'm a little homesick and missing Fleetwood and the Fylde. Subscribed! Thanks for the vids! :)
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always i love going on the tram there is so much to look at you really don't realise how how big blackpool is amazing have a great day xx
The walk down by the bird observatory near Rosall point is really nice….in my experience there are never many people about in Fleetwood which coupled with the free parking on the front is a big plus in my book.
Enjoyed this one as well its surprising how much art deco architecture is on Blackpool prom ❤ I wouldn't mind living in Cleveleys or Anchorsholme it looks lovely up there 😀
We have stayed at the Norbreck Castle last year twice and found it perfectly fine, with no problems. It is nothing fancy, though the food is good and like everything you get what you pay for. Looking forward to our stay at The Cliffs in July this year.
Stephen, we stayed at the Norbreck a few times and wasn't too bad but we paid for better rooms. It was better in the nineties when we had an exhibition there, we have tried many hotels throughout the last four years and keep coming back to the Imperial every time.
I love Fleetwood I love the Cadbury shop and getting a chocolate bar , I also come to Fleetwood for the very good pavers shoe shop been going there for years for shoes and next and the works for new jigsaws
Stephen, just how old is this video? I am seeing New Hackett and St Chad’s Hotels and I was watching them being pulled down (from your videos). I see Clevelys being upmarket rather like Metro-Land in the 1930s (semi-detached houses in pleasant settings) and to some extent Fleetwood (though the buildings are older).
Good to see the New Hackett's and St Chad's hotels a year before they were demolished. There was a nice fish and chip shop on the side of St Chad's Terrace. Pity that is gone. Xxx
I was at Norbreck hotel a few weeks back. Have all new carpet's in the main lobby, and along to the conference area now. I've stayed at the place many time's and never had any problems. Play Expo is back again at Norbreck this year October 7th and 8th 2023
My Nana used to buy Fisherman's friend and I hated them. It was only after she died that I discovered that it was Victory V that she bought! Always have some Fisherman's friends in my pocket now. What a numpleteen
Thank you Stephen for another informative video, I'd no idea Fisherman's Friends were made in Fleetwood! Open fields and greenery are beautiful, hopefully not to much will be built on, won't hold my breath on that though. West Drive looks an expensive place to retire but I'd love one of those houses.😊😊😊
Watching this video is the first time I have travelled from Fleetwood to Blackpool without seeing the sea. I'm too busy looking at the sea and mountains, when they are in view, to notice anything on the other side :)
Re Thornton You mentioned at Thornton Gate that you were approaching the Thornton area. I wouldn't say that is true having grown up there. Thornton Gate in my view is in Cleveleys. Thornton is not on the coast at all, it is inland from Cleveleys and starts roughly east of and next to Fleetwood Rd. Perhaps east of Amounderness Rd. There are two areas there, the Windmill and Little Thornton in Thornton Village where the railway station used to be. Little Thornton takes up the area before Stannah which goes down to the River Wyre. You could do some nice videos at the Windmill and the railway line and Stannah Park and especially down by the riverside.
My grandfather was offered 50 percent control of Fishermans friend for an extremely good price. Unfortunately he turned it down because it was before it became a very profitable business. I can only imagine what life my family would have led if he decided to gamble and take the offer.... 🤔
Hi nice to ride a tram, hope you don't mind my asking but don't you feel self conscious talking to camera on a tram? I couldn't do it but I suppose you are used to it and people know you because you're the Star of Blackpool. Be careful be safe and I'll see you in the next one ❤
We stayed at the Norbreck Autumn half term in 1985. It was the only place we could get booked in that week........we soon found out why! It was starting to get tun down then. It was a premium priced establishment then and it was OK but not worth the money.
Always stay at the Norbreck.... Love the place!! Never had a problem there....
Looks good Day 😀 Anthony 👍
Booked my holiday for next April I love Fleetwood and Blackpool❤❤

Stunning miles of prom and beach as far as the eye can see. I did this tram ride in 2016 and it was great to relive.
Thank u for taking us to and from Fleetwood. Great video as always Stephen. Enjoy the bank holiday weekend 👍💙

Stayed at the hampton by hilton also. Tiny room and bed jammed against the window. Shocking for the price
A rainy tram ride from terminus to terminus. Nothing like it to clear your head. Had a few of those while I lived down there.

Beautiful video. I'm up on breakfast shift. Never sleep ❤
That was great loved the two of them thanks Stephen
I went to see the late Joe Longthorne when I visited Blackpool a few years in the Vegas Bar although he had been ill he still put on a good show
How lovely to see throughly enjoyed this till the next one 😊
Great return journey in the 50's always stayed in Osbourne road next to the pleasure beach there was a coach park and mini golf
Good to see the New Hackett's and St Chad's hotels a year before they were demolished. There was a nice fish and chip shop on the side of St Chad's Terrace. Pity that is gone. Xxx
I remember when I was younger, there used to be 'Hollands fries and pies' which seemingly has shut down. Over 20 odd years ago though
Hi Steve how are you another great vidio of you on the tram going back to Stargate very interested best wishes take care stay safe xx ❤😊
Very Good. Some lovely houses on Queens promenade.
Enjoyable part 2, Stephen, thank you👍

If you go on a tram to fleetwood you will see the factory
On TV "how do they make it" in fleetwood
Local shop here in Valencia Spain sells them
Why is it called Stargate good video as usual I have been on a Blackpool tram twice it was a bit bumpy
It's Starr Gate. The place is named after the spiky "Starr" grass which grows on the local sand hills to the south of Starr Gate. "Gate"
Watching this video is the first time I have travelled from Fleetwood to Blackpool without seeing the sea. I'm too busy looking at the sea and mountains, when they are in view, to notice anything on the other side :)
ye love revs nightclub, haven't been down to Blackpool for about 5 or 6 years. Is the promenade entrance new?
