- Teams from the NTT IndyCar Series testing at Sebring Raceway to prepare for the 2023 racing season, also featuring 2024 hybrid unit test in Penske #22 Chevy. Check out my twitter / lankyturtle and subscribe to my channel for more HD racing videos!
In case anyone didnt know, the #22 Team Penske car had the hybrid installed. The car sounds just fine with it. Thanks Lanky!
I was hoping to do a second vid of only that car but it didn't turn enough laps for me to get much video so I tried to make it the featured car in this vid. Will Power behind the wheel!
Can you put a time stamp of that part
It's the first and last shot and also at 2:36
@@LankyTurtle Ah, was wondering if it was Joseph or Will :)
OMG I need to go find something to read about it right now!
LET'S GO CANAPINO #78, 15 TIMES CHAMPION IN ARGENTINA, NOW HE IS IN THE INDY, WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU TITAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome video as always!
The only series worth watching
And wrc!
@@morgan98801 Yes. This might seem weird but maybe stop the races a few times during the actual race.
@@theo2018 I would go wec/imsa
Well it's better than nascar at least
IMSA
Sounds better than F1!
Sounds a lot like the old F-1 cars.... which is good!
Sound of the CART cars were better. So was there performance.
They sound nothing like old F1 cars, they sound like the correct F1 cars without the extreme turbo whistle.
@@1106Winter they sound close to V6T of the pre-atmospheric era (before 1989). So he's right. Check the MP4/4 sound for example.
...so what are these running? Normally aspirated, hybrid, displacement...? They look ferocious, fast and very expensive.
#78 🇦🇷🙌😍
Go Canapino, argentina presente!
Great coverage, thanks
hello.... amigos se viene la CANAPINONETA no digan que no les avisamos... byeee
Amazing footage!
😎👍🏎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for sharing as always.
What a beautiful thing this is 😊
What camera do you use @Lanky Turtle
Interesting that they tested the 22 with reds
Edit: big bulbous unit on the back of the gearbox, is that the MGU? I was under the impression that the MGU was stored in the bell housing not unlike the LMDh
Yes you are correct, I read on Motorsport it's just mounted to the back temporarily for testing but will be moved to the bell housing before it races
Agustin Canapino❤78
Go Canapino!!!
Vamos canapino
Let's go #78 Agustin Canapino !!!!!!!
Cars sound good.
Classic V6 Turbo sounds
Are there any technical changes from the 2022 vs. 2023 cars?
No
Penske 22 car shown here testing with a hybrid powertrain for the '24 season.
There is a new fuel from Shell. Aside from that there are some safety improvements to the rear attenuator, steering arms, and wheel tethers.
They are also looking at a way to maximize driver visibility during a wet race AND when they go gateway, they will be using an alternate tire for the first time on an oval
gooooo # 78 !!!!! Vamos Argentina !!!!!!
They should add this on their calendar next season alongside Lime Rock, Daytona Oval/Road Course, Road Atlanta and VIR
If indy dropped the Ovals (exception to the indy 500) I'd be 100% ok with that.
I think the series has plenty enough of road/street courses but not enough ovals. This season will be vital to where indycar goes from here.
@@TougeSolo Yeah
#78 Canapino is the Best! GOOO TITAN!
Thank you for sharing I know spring is coming fast when I see your vids on Indy cars at Sebring. How was the Trans-am event?
Thanks Steve! Trans Am race there the weekend of the 25th. Richard Petty is going to be the Grand Marshall!
@@LankyTurtle on your vision, the car with hybrid system was faster than the others?
@@Luiz30e10 No it was slower but this is chevy's first test with it and it's not mounted in the correct place yet
I am sure it will be another competitive season for Indycar as opposed to F1! Thanks for the preview!
🇦🇷💪🏻
WOOOOOOOOOO
Reminds me F3000 of the 90's😊
Anyone know who was driving the #22. To my knowledge Penske only has three entries with Will Power in the #12, Josef Newgarden in the #2, and Scott McLaughlin in the #3
Yeah that was the car with the hybrid unit they were testing. Will Power was driving
@@LankyTurtle are they testing again in Sebring next week, before driving to St.Pete?
@@2011mendoNot that I know of. There's Trans Am races this weekend and IMSA teams testing Tuesday-thurs so the only day available would be Monday but I haven't heard anything
@@LankyTurtle thanks.. not sure why I had that on my schedule... Must've put in the wrong date... My bad..
@@2011mendo There might have been teams there this week, there's almost always some that test the week before the race. I just didn't hear about any. I miss stuff there all the time
Wait.. why was it only the #22 testing the hybrid system?
It was Chevys first test with it so very preliminary testing. Still over a year before they will race
@Lanky Turtle ah ok, I wonder how much HP the hybrid system will add on. I know I read about it, but I don't remember, really. The chassis is old, but the body itself isn't, so I don't see the series coming out with a new car until after the hybrid system has had a successful season
@@Wily_Ambition6819 Yeah I don't know how many years it'll be before they have a new car. The hybrid was supposed to be mated to a new 2.4L engine (vs 2.2L they run now) but they scrapped that plan a couple months ago, so will continue with the current engine. Hybrid unit was planned to make around 100hp
@Lanky Turtle yea, that's what I remember about the HP. I really hope this season provides alot of fireworks/drama for great TV to broaden the series reach and showcase driver personalities more. I feel like the series is stuck in neutral at the moment and having dramatic moments showcased instead of commercials or the camera showing other positions would help. I wanna see drivers arguing more. The series needs a few more ovals to me but it seems oval speedways are scarce right now.
@@Wily_Ambition6819 Yep, the racing's great, the series just needs to change some things up so it's not stagnant. I'd love to see them with new bodywork designed with the windscreen in mind, since that just got added on. Even if the chassis are old they'd at least look new. Losing the new engines was a big step backwards i think.
CANAPINO CAPOOOO........!!!!!
sounds a lot like '80s F1 turbo
Vamos Canapino!!!
It is me or its sounds like a f1 from the 70s
Hopefully polyphony will add two of these cars to GT7 a Honda and a Chevy #polyphony #granturismo7 #playstation #chevrolet #honda
hay una sanja en esa curva super peligrosa
Lots of Canapino fans in the comments!
Why don't we just give in and mount full fenders and a roof panel? We're 90% of the way to a prototype. Thanks for posting Lanky.
Enjoy it before it goes all electric
Wow look, same cars as last year, and the year before and the year before......how unexciting
