    Asking the forum here: My lights get REALLY hot when I turn them on. pulled away from the 3M tape use to stick them to the boat. Silicon doesn't look good and I am having trouble keeping it stuck to the boat. Any ideas?

      I will say mine do put off a little heat, but not too hot to the touch. Maybe you just got a bad light. Check with YakPower directly. I did just have to replace double sided tape on one strip after 2 years. I picked up some Double Sided Gorilla Tape from Lowe's and cut it in half long ways to fit the lights best. Removing the stocked was a little tough but sticking out in the sunlight seemed to help. After I removed the existing tape, I did wipe down the back of the light and the area on the kayak I was installing the lights with some rubbing alcohol. Hope this helps and answers your questions.

    Thought about buying a Nilight led whip light like for a jeep and make it my 360° white light for my Yak.

      That might be too bright for your eyes to be able to adjust to the night and also my attract more bugs. Probably a different color like red, green, or blue would be good though. I have my 360 light at the back of my kayak by the powerpole mounting bracket.

      Thank you sir. That's going to be a sweet looking kayak there. Hear good things on the FPV, I have always like my Bioenno batteries so haven't tried any others yet.

    Excellent video! I know this video has been out a bit, but could you share the dimensions on your template for the button lights? I’d appreciate it!

      Thanks, glad this video helped!
      Unfortunately, I don't have that template anymore. However, the Button Lights under the Mounting Plates are ~1.5" from the plate and ~3" from the Rod Tubes. Button Lights behind the seat are ~2" from the top of the kayak and ~2" from where the plastic goes in behind the seat. Hope these measurement make since and help you though. After doing a few of these installs, I can pretty much just do them by looking at them now!

      That absolutely helps! I appreciate it and the exterior lights are perfect for seeing out and lighting the bank very well!

      Yes, they light up your surroundings very well. I fish lots of backwaters at night some times and have no issues fishing around heavy cover at night.

    Do you connect your garmin ls box to the yak power system? I would like to put it on a different switch so I can turn it off when not in use. Another great vid!

      Yes sir, it has its on switch so I can turn it off when it's not in the water or being used. Thanks. I need to do a walk through of my whole setup... waiting on Hobie to send us some.more universal mounting plates so I can swap the 8 switch for the current 5 I have on there.

    Hi, I’ve read a few reviews of the boomdocks landing gear that says they’ve cracked the boat. Any issues for you?

    • @JoshDuffel
      @JoshDuffel  3 года назад

      I have not had any issues on any of the kayaks I have installed the Boonedox on as far as cracking the hull. Now the first generation of the Groovy Landing Gear did have plastic gussets and some of those have broke. However, that is what they were intended to do, instead of the kayak hull. The older Boonedox also had a smaller backing plate so that was the culprit as well as some user error.

    Awesome bro, thanks for these vids! Im going to pick my 360 up tomorrow (driving 6 hours one way just to get it haha) I have the Garmin, but not the Panoptix(yet) does the dry storage bin fit back inside after all the yak power stuff has been placed?

      Thanks man. Awesome, you will enjoy the 360 for sure! The YakPower and cables don't get in the way of the front storage bucket at all, but the Blackbox for the Livescope does just barely touch the bucket.
