    Why not use the slow cooker mode on the instant pot? With my Instant pot Ultra I don't need the lid on.
    Thanks Ive got pears that NEED to be processed!

    What if you don’t have an Instant Pot? How long and what temperature do you cook your pears? Like myself there maybe people that don’t have one.

      Simmer with a bit more water on the top of the stove for at minimum an hour. It will depend on how hard your pears are that you start with. Use a lid to keep steam in and you will need to still check the water level constantly so that it will not boil off and burn the pears. Another option is a slow cooker if you have that.

    90 minutes of constant stirring is quite a chore. My aunt made pear honey for years. It is sure good stuff. Thanks for posting

      When I was in the second grade (West Virginia in the seventies), in October, some old ladies, they were old to a second grader, sorry. They came to our playground with a huge cauldron, and made apple butter, over a fire.
      ❤ It was quite cool while they were out there. Smoke was rising from the cauldron. They were stirring the apples with wooden paddles. Halloween was in the air. They looked like witches stirring up a potion.
      It was perfect. Yum yum!

    I use a mechanical apple corer and slicer to peel pears. It a lot faster.

    No water bath canning needed?

    It’s my understanding that you were not supposed to use the stainless steel insert and an Insta pot to cook on the stove

    Hey so question!!! You don't have to have ripe pears?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  3 года назад

      Yes, you do. Ripe pears have developed their sugars and make for a much better product.

    How much spice? Tsp??

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  3 года назад

      About a tsp of each spice that you decide to put in. It is really personal preference though.

    No sugar?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 года назад

      Nope. None needed. It is concentrated and the pears are very sweet to begin with. You can add some if you like.
