Thank you for this! I have the more basic non-track version, but was getting very confused about fitting the blade and the exhaust. I have now done it, and taken the plunge. I cut up some big fitted wardrobes so I can fit them in my car for the dump - hooray!
Hey!!! Congrats!! Glad the video helped you out with all of it. Good luck with the saw going forward, it’s a good company too, I’ve always enjoyed my Evolution tools! 🤙🏻
Awesome video, super helpful and thorough. I thought I was going to buy this saw then I saw they do bundles with 1.4m or 2.8m tracks. So i got one of those instead, the big kit is perfect for full length cuts in 8x4 boards.
Great overview, I always wanted a track saw but in many cases I would rather use a table saw, pretty sure if I do more track saw projects someone would love to get this used.
Great video, very detailed! 👍 What doesn't make sense is the 3 ft track, could have added that extra foot and charged a bit more. Aside from that and being corded, this saw certainly has it's perks.
Hi , thanks for this. I couldn’t see a laser guide on this model- does it not have one? Do Evolution not have lasers on their circular saws? Thanks if you can answer
The saw, for the price, is really ok. Just important to point that the track is not straight. When assembling it you can adjust the segments slightly to make it true straight.
How weird, my evolution Track Saw has a safety button. I did not like the 3 section tracks and I purchased an Evolution 2 x 1400mm tracks. Works brilliantly!
@wburtney5154 I haven’t noticed cuts out of square yet personally, used it this past weekend building a shop sign for the shop, used the track and my 4ft level for a video to show getting a straight cut two ways.
@@TheToughGuysTV once the track is setup it works perfect for short cuts. With the Grove in the base one could make tracks of any length with 5 mm plywood, vinyl grip and a hardwood or aluminum guide. I bought the saw to rip steel.
Evolution really do have a serious allergy to making their tools even remotely competent at dust extraction. I own a Rage 3S mitre which has horrific dust extraction and a Rage 5 S contractors table saw, which has great big gaps in the lower dust shroud under the blade resulting in piles of sawdust under the tablesaw. A college had this track saw and I was appalled at how much dust it threw everywhere compared to even the cheapest of track saws I've seen used.
@@TheToughGuysTV The problem I faced was that the blade would always "want to go out" or deviate to the right side on thicker material. I realised that the blade was not paralel to the frame...
The white strip is supposed to stay in place as far as I can tell. Now in my case it came loose, so I ended up tearing it off, but that makes things a little harder to calculate where your blade will land. Once you know the distance though you can add it onto your cuts.
@@TheToughGuysTV Thats what I call a solid reply to a cup of hateorade 🤣🤣🤣 On the upside, I will be using your video to make a roof rack for my truck, and a Shelf system for a client off the strength of your review. Thanks@
Def all about the blades for sure! Totally agree, but was focusing on how to operate the tracksaw for that one, so wanted to try not to get too much into blades. Thanks for checking out the video!

Best description of this saw on RUclips. Thank you.
Hey thank you so much for that! Truly appreciate you leaving the comment. And thank you for watching!

Hey! Thank you so much, I’m glad the video helped you out!
Nice one.... just about to crack mine out n build our kitchen 😂
Good luck on your build! And thanks for watching! 🤙🏻

This is a great option if you do decide to go with a tracksaw! Thanks for checking out the video!

Totally agree! Not sure why they wouldn’t sell it straight out with the 4ft section. Thanks for watching!
@@TheToughGuysTV you can purchase 1 full track which is 1400mm which is approx' 4½ft.
@@douglasalexander4348 I have 2 x 1400 with clamps. Evolution clamps were rubbish, so I bought better quality pair.
Is the saw meant to cut the white that wticks out of the tracks
That's what I'm confused about

They are a gimmick and not needed when you have a track

Yes good advice! You can also make adjustments on the saw as well to assist. Thanks for checking out the video!
Thanks
That rubber piece on the end of the track that the blade rubs up against so you know how long it last and or where to get replacements? Thanks
I don't know but I wondered if your saw cut the edge of the white off? How do I set it to cut out further past the white strip?
Looks like an ok saw, but what about bevel cuts? That is also important. I have to down grade this from 5 stars to 3 stars!! 🤭🤭

Would you mind sharing the model number that has the safety?? It really seemed like maybe mine was just missing it - thanks for watching!!
@@TheToughGuysTV did you.get my message on FB?
Comes with 2 saw horses but no track clamps.. weird.
Bought one. Great saw, track sucks fiddlefart to setup a straight track.
I like that, “fiddlefart” don’t mind if I use that ?? 😂😂 Saw is solid for sure. My track was pretty good to go after setup.
@@TheToughGuysTV use it. Used a strait edge and adjusted track to match. End to end track wasn't square.

Try to cut something long and thick (60mm +) and do the video again ;)
I need to get some additional track pieces, right now it’s only 36” total, def thinking about a part 2

I know I’m a bit late to the party 🫣 … do you cut the white strip when you take your very first track cut? … well put together video 👍🏼

Lot of tear out with the stock blade looks like
Def worth upgrading the blade yes
Why play music while I'm trying to listen to you speak?
During the intro? 😂 I’ll delete my channel, been a good run. ✌🏻

Really bad quality cut on that ply...... Glad I bought a couple of 80T blades before I used it. A cut like that would be no good in my trade!!
