  • Here we are programming a virginised Peugeot Partner 2 BSI to a vehicle, first we tried to use aftermarket scan tools to see if it was possible & then moved on to using dealer tool (Diagbox - Peugeot Planet)

    Question, will PP2000 configure a new PIN without knowing the original PIN oñ a non virgin unit.
    I'm down to 1 key and have PP2000, but scared to experiment Thanks

      No, you will need a virgin unit to assign a new PIN to it.. if you want to add key you will need to know the PIN code & use this PIN, we offer lots of PIN code retrieval services!

    Interesting to watch the process, great video. Fyi launch and thinktool (and Topdon) all use the same software. I had diagbox it was definitely handy but I was trying to figure it out on my own, not much tutorials online. Can I ask, the pin you retrieved from the EPROM, how did you do that, where is the EPROM?

    • @JC-ECUConnection
      @JC-ECUConnection  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi! And thanks for watching! Yes indeed ThinkCar & Topdon both use Launch software with some small variations, the main difference is in the remote diagnostic functions - Launch (UK) are locked to just one service provider, ThinkCar has an independent network which is growing and you can choose who you want to remote with, Topdon is similar but the Topdon Phoenix max doesn’t support remote functions as far as I am aware..
      The EEPROM on these PSA BSI’s is on the back of the board (95160) - although we don’t need to open them to read the EEPROM as we can read the data via CAN, we then use various softwares to calculate PIN from dumpfile…

      @@JC-ECUConnection hey thanks for the detailed response. I used a topdon to try and program an ECU and it asked me for a similar pin and I wasn't sure where to get it! I'm assuming you read it from the existing module, but you couldn't because it was drenched! Thanks again, and subscribed 👍

      @@tonyrice3348 Thanks for subbing!! From memory this actual job we virginised a donor ECU & adapted it by PIN number because the customer was convinced he had a data corruption fault, we had already cloned an ECU but his fault remained, so we re-done the job by virginising & adapting another unit - eventually we found that he had fitted 2 new injectors which were the wrong type, making it over fuel! The PIN number can be located in both the ECU & BSI dump files…

    • @JC-ECUConnection
      @JC-ECUConnection  Год назад +6

      Hi, thank you for your kind words! You raise a very good point about the mileage - when installing a virgin unit the mileage is set to zero but will adapt to the cluster mileage automatically, sometimes it takes a few minutes / a few ignition cycles, from memory the mileage came back on after recording.. It’s really important if you want to test fit a BSI to Peugeot / Citroen vehicles that you are aware that the mileage will overwrite the highest value of either one to the other, for example let’s say you have a 50,000 mile vehicle & test fit a 100,000 mile BSI, the cluster will adopt the 100,000 mile value, then if you refit your 50,000 mile BSI it will then adopt the 100,000 mile value from the cluster… we regularly have to correct this for customers who have trial fitted components!

    Thanks for this detailed video.
    Yesterday I bought the Thinktool Master X with a programmer.
    I previously worked with Autel MP808S but it wasn't enough for me so it became a Thinktool combination device (advice).
    So I hope that at least it's good.
    What experiences have you had with it?
    Today I wanted to clone the engine control unit on a BMW E46 320i MS43.
    Unfortunately that didn't work (that wasn't available).
    I would be happy to hear your experiences with aftermarket scanners.
    This is now the 10th video with a like and a subscription. Please upload more of these videos. :)

      Hi & thanks for watching & subscribing, it really encourages me to make more videos!.. As for Diag tools, both the ThinkCar & the Autel are good choices, They both have their strong points & make for a great combo, but there’s always another tool needed as you get further involved in this subject! - as for cloning an MS43 there’s no scan tool to my knowledge that will clone these, you will need to open the units & manually read & write 93C86 Eeprom & 29F400 Flash, or it can be done by extracting ISN number & adapting EWS ISN number. If you’re not into removing Eeprom & Flash chips from circuit boards to read & write we offer this service by post:

      @@JC-ECUConnection Many thanks for the answer.
      I was disappointed with my scanner today. Because neither when I removed the control unit nor in the input state could I do this on the scanner.
      But now it's clear to me that no scanner can do it! I did not know that. Thanks for the offer. I'll ask my friend how he wants to solve this now.
      I will forward your offer to him. Thanks for the experience about the scanners.
      I would be very interested in videos about coding, software updates and immobilizers with the scanners and troubleshooting.

    I have a 2020 Partner/Rifter K9, E6 (customers van supplied by me) won't bore you with all the deatails publicly but I can't alter any BSI parameters. I have tried my Launch and Topdon Poenix Plus but won't change anything. Need to turn off eoloys but says programming failed. The ECU has been remapped to sort a few issues but still tries to do a regen when it feels like it causing massive smoke for 5 mins. My supposedly genuine PP2000 worked once then bricked. Do I have to go see someone with genuine dealer diagnostics old chap? Thanks in advance.

      Hi & thanks for watching!.. sorry but I haven’t had to plug in to one of these this new, I would think the only way to fix this is a DPF delete & remap if not already done - although I think most remappers would like to work on an original file so you would be best in my opinion getting a software update done first, I’m not sure if it is possible with genuine dealer tool or not, mine is an old copy version..

    Is there a solution to the mileage problem when changing the bsi

    • @JC-ECUConnection
      @JC-ECUConnection  11 месяцев назад

      Yes! - The best way - as in video is to set the mileage in the BSI to zero before fitting! If however the BSI has been fitted without zeroing the miles then the mileage will need to be corrected by firstly removing the dash from the vehicle & correcting on bench, then the BSI can be corrected by OBD or on bench & when installed back in vehicle there will be no conflict - we can help with doing this:
