One of the only people that actually uploaded a LG v50 Thinq Camera Review thank you! I entered a competition to win 1 of 50 of these phones in an LG competition and actully won... the only thing ive ever won in my life i literally thought it was a scam at first ahaha - thats why im here, looking at why my new phone will look like - not that anyone cares but my sister just went to korea (home of LG) for 1 year and i gave my iphone x as a going away gift because she only had an iphone 6s with a cracked screen which ive been using for the past month while shes been away so winning this phone couldnt come at a better time. I also get the dual screen attachment.

The sound quality of the microphones is absolutely impressive. Best vlogging / video phone in the Android space by far.

As my LG V30 is nearing 3 years I thought it is time to get this marvelous piece of innovation by LG before the stock goes out(If preserved well, maybe I will show it to my grandchildren... Ha ha).
I had to order it from Amazon Singapore which ships the set from South Korea(after some extensive research and messaging to sellers) as a lot of refurbished ones are being sold over eBay and they all are coming from China.

iOS has a wider game choice. V50 is fine. GCam works well on it.

I just ordered a v50 thinq. To replace my v20. You're excellent camera review was the reason I decided to buy. Also $259. US. With 2 yr warranty couldn't resist thank yoy

The absolute best review of the LG V50 I have seen. Love the mature classy design and unmatched features of the LG phones... yes an LG G8 Thinq and so what's your point? Biased? Never. 🤪

I'm loving my OnePlus 7 Pro but I truly do miss the manual mode from LG the most. Nothing like having all those controls from photos and videos in the native camera app. Very nice quality here. And the audio is top notch for any phone.

Mine is the Korean version. You need to see if your network has 5G for starters.
Thanks for the review. Are you able to zoom in on some of the photos on future videos so we can see detail level etc. Using the table saves you time with the editing of the video and your description of the shots works well while comparing different cameras.
Hi Ian, yes I can do that in future videos. TBH when I was comparing all 3 phones photos it was very difficult and close. Their was no clear winner. Some were better in one shot but not another. And the real differences could be resolved in two minutes with a quick edit. I also sent the photos to 8 of my photographer friends as they also struggled.

Hey Gavin. Nice video review of the LG v50. Which one is the best buy between the v50 and v40 considering I don't have 5g connectivity and I don't think we are getting it anytime soon. Am loving the specs of the V50 and the v40 is equally good. Any advice. Thank you

great video, but i have a question , what do you think about the front camera and the battery ?
Average front camera. Battery is 5-6 hours SOT.
oh i'm shocked ! it's a flagship phone ! OK do you think it a good deal ( fair) in 2020 / 2021 ! because i want to buy a new phone but i dont want it to be a bad phone. May i know what is your opinion / view about it please , i think you have been using it for more then a one year ! .
The main reason to buy this is the audio quad dac for wired HiFi headphones. Maybe lower price.
Great review, interesting results. Just quick follow up did the phone connect to different networks Ok or is it not usable under networks like T Mobile as an example

Good vid, there aren't many lgv50 vids up. Try and do a speaker test between the 3 of them please.
Thanks Sean. Samsung is best & loudest. LG next. Then Huawei P30 Pro. All ok for podcast listening. And even for RUclips or Netflix they would all suffice. But for movies I’d rather use the Samsung if I wasn’t wearing headphones which would normally be the case. Hope this helps.
Great review Gavin. In Cine Video, what would happen if you are in None mode and put down the strength bar? Similar to a log video? (I'm missing the Cine Log since the LG V30)

How well does it do with night shots/videos? This is last bit of info I need before deciding to buy.
It has a night mode. Video you can adjust settings etc. Quality wise it's average.
Such a great video! Subbed immediately. Between LG V50, P30 pro and Pixel 4 XL which one would you recommend if they're in the same price range?
Depends why priorities matter most.
I value cameras in a phone as I use it often for work and fun. I'm coming from an OG Pixel XL so I was pretty happy with the Pixels but I heard that Pixel 4 XL's battery life wasn't very good. So I'm hard-pressed to choose one. Please provide your suggestion on this.
Pixel 5 or 4a 5G is what I’d recommend. Great camera, updates, and battery life.

I have multiple phones and I do comparison for myself. I do notice that pictures look so much different on a laptop than on the phone screen. For example, pictures on my lg v40 looks flat on the phone screen. But when I upload it on to my laptop, the pictures looks so amazing. Have you tested the pixel? Does the pixel looks better or is the best camera phone out there? In my opinion, I think the pixel is overrated. It is a good camera but doesn't mean it beats out other camera phone out there.
Pixel takes great shots but only has 1 lens.
Manual mode is exceptional
i have a 27 inch QHD Samsung PLS (samsung's IPS) display, and it does baffle sometimes how terrible some pictures actually look haha. But usually thats my fault as a photographer. I think most smartphones provide great shots and cinematography if done right.

To me seems like LG has the best engineers and take the worse marketing decisions, like, "whe will bild a smartphone Flagship with a cheap IPS 4k screen, that´ll drain all battery, an amasing camera experience, the best hi-end sound, and the worse battery. "And how we solve the battery problem?" We made de "thing" non water-proof and when the users became too much anoyed they should buy an extra battery. I think myself how much money LG payed to the persons that took this decisions. I am using this LG V50 Oled, good battery, amasing camera and hi end sound. My thanks to the marketing team who did people hates LG and this cost less to me.

Thanks Hussein. Not my thing to waste time on stuff like that. If you only had the one phone, you wouldn't know any difference. So fyi, oneplus is speedier, then a tie between the other 2. Samsung has the best screen, then a tie again and speakers goto Samsung , and then a tie.

In all honestly, I wouldn’t worry Hussein, you are never gonna see the difference if you pick one phone over the other. I have both phones and it’s really a close call on both. What you need to look at is the bigger picture, what aspects of each phone matter to you. The S10 has the better screen, reverse wireless charging etc... whereas the V50 has the best headphone sound with wired headphones , but the speakers aren’t as powerful as the S10. Meanwhile the camera on the V50 is far more versatile, the manual options on both video and photo are way ahead of the S10. And the list goes on. Sometimes it comes down to price, which costs less. Also the V50 has 5G. Does that matter even.

Not sure on the price difference, but like all Lg's the older models plumment in price quite a bit :)

How the hell can you compare photos on a tablet?
FYI, I had zoomed in etc on each photo prior to filming plus I shared the shots with a group of photographer friends and got their views . Viewing the shots on the screen help saves a lot of time with video editing, and it illustrates the fact the differences are very minimal. The video was already 28 mins of editing, and that was another consideration as my time is limited to a certain point. I have had a comment to ask if I could zoom in on the actual shots in future, which is something I will do. Thanks for your feedback .
