This is a pleasant surprise! With how busy you are, I figured that it would be a couple of months before we got a Horse Ranch Video (not trying to hate on your schedule, doing medical studies is hard work and time consuming!)
Here's a little fact from an Equestrian (horse rider) the saddles u called "traditional and modern" are actually Western and English saddles, the western saddle was designed for comfort for both rider and horse because back then they used horses a lot for work. The English saddle however is designed for contact between the rider and the horse, as they used horses in Europe for transportation but also for sports like show jumping, dressage, hunting and cross country, there are also 3 different types of English saddles for the different purposes, 1 the jumping saddle which is mostly on the sims games, is used mainly for jumping, cross country and other sports that involves jumping as it's a lot more flexible and comfortable to jump with. 2 the dressage saddle which is obviously for dressage only, u may not jump with it as it's in short terms bad for the horse, the dressage saddle helps with better communication between rider and horse as dressage is mostly done by signals given to the horse through movement by the rider. 3 The multipurpose saddle, which is by the name for multiple purposes.
I also forgot to mention there are other types of saddles like the racing saddles (which were also featured in sims 3) , trick riding saddles and harnesses like the vault harness which is a sport in the equestrian community, some people call it gymnastics or contortion on horseback.
@@JoTheBlackWolfi wish they would’ve added the side saddles 😅 I’ve always wanted to sit on a traditional side saddle 😅 I could’ve dressed my sim up in Victorian sort of attire and had her in a side saddle 🥹😅

hopefully cc creators can add some cool horse mane/tail options and maybe even some default replacements for horses

I hate how it either gives you the mothers coat or the fathers I wish that it would actually bother to mix them and give you a unique horse but I guess that’s what mods are going to have to be for
I wonder if in the sims 3 it mixed, is this a downgrade or it was always like that?
@@gabrielandy9272 In Sims 3 they do mix, creating some awesome coats, so sad that they got rid of that in 4 (all pets)

Why horse have better hair customization than sims?

horses have more hair color options than sims. it's absurd.
I mean, it's realistic. Horses and dogs have more phenotypic variation than humans anyways. You don't see a dapple or brindle human and you very rarely see a skewbald human. Think about how different a chihuahua is from a great Dane. You just don't see that variation in humans.
@tinky2914 I have to disagree. Humans can have a huge variety in appearances, just because the differences aren't so extreme as in other animals doesn't mean Sims should have such basic options. Have you ever seen two people with the exact same freckle pattern? Or vitiligo? Especially the hair color, I understand that putting hundreds of different colors isn't reasonable, but the customization like in Sims 3 would be such a major improvement. Not even just the color wheel, but being able to choose a different color for the main part, the highlights, and the roots would be awesome. Sorry for ranting lol, I guess I feel strongly about this 😅
It makes me mad how cats&dogs have heterochromia options, but not humans! Why does a husky get a better treatment than my simself? (I have heterocromia)
The little "heh heh, I'm so smart" in regards to calling the horse breed "Oreo" made me smile 😊
I can’t wait for all the mods and cc people are going to come up with! For horses I really miss the bars you could drag to change the shape of your sim… They made it possible to change the tiniest things and to make the most realistic horses.

I'd say your video was rather informative to say the least. Now I just hope there are pre-built horse stables because i don't want to do ALL the work and that they'll hopefully fit.

My favourite breed in the game is Welsh Cob. My first horse I made was a Welsh Cob Mare with a smooth white coat, wavy lavender mane and tail, and long lavender feathers.

I'm still disappointed that they don't focus on making the models for different breeds look more accurate to the breed.
A Clydesdale looks vastly different than an Arabian horse, but ingame each breed basically looks the same, just a bit more fat here and there and a thicker head or more slender.
Given that this add-on is a downgrade to everything in Pets in Sims 3, I don't think I'll bother buying it. As nice as the models look, it's just too little to warrant the money. :(
And the fact that they’re all the same height! I wish we had at least two options like dogs
@@DREAMINDIGO Right?? I think that should have been the bare minimum to differentiate breeds tbh. Making a Clydesdale look like a chubby, reverse-profiled Arabian is just plain lazy.
Why even bother with breeds if they are all the same anyway? You might as well just make them a Sim-breed and explain it away with that. That would have been less annoying actually. :/

For saying exactly what I thought when watching the breed-segment.
I was legitimately pausing and scrolling through the comment section to find a comment like this!
As someone who used to learn riding through a therapy program for children on a ranch, I learned the differences between some horse-breeds, their characteristics and traits and ofcourse also their physique. So I started to appreciate especially draft-horses alot because their broad and tall frame made them really comfy to ride and they have usually really chill personalities. So it would have been nice to see different breeds being touched on that not only by a visual point but also in gameplay; Like helping at the farm for harvest, having unique traits like better stamina, comfy ridestyle or whatever, to make each breed more standing out.
Like araber having a special version of a freespirit trait, being good at running and jumping but really hard to tame into a friendly and patient nature.
Also Ponys would have been a nice addition, especially for children because they are the horsebreeds that are most often used to get small children a good start into the riding buisness.
It's a real shame that they missed out on so much potential and instead just used one default model with just some alterations in jaw/necklines etc. or furcolour variations.
Really disappointing, it feels like they just punched a bunch of little tweaks into one default horse they created in game and then uploaded them as a "breed" and called it a day instead of actually creating new models.
Feels like they put more effort into that with the cats and dogs breeds, because you wouldn't just give a Labrador a punched in nose, folded up ears and obnoxiously big eyes and called it a pug.
Ngl that's not only such a big downgrade in general compared to sims3 but also a dissapointment that they didn't tried atleast the bare minimum especially when it comes to the pets diverse cas they have in sims4 that is so much better than in ts3.
Man I was really looking forward to a drafthorse and a little shetlandpony as it's girlfriend :(

Hey I just downloaded horse ranch on sims I have other packs that work but in horse ranch don’t work when I create a horse I can only change the upper menu head, ears but I can’t change the body example the breeds, color, hair the catalog don’t show up when I klick on the horse, I play on Xbox😩
I'm horrible at designing horses with paint. I'm still new to sims 4 is there a way to install new markings?

Yeah, I've been a part of it since the star wars pack was out (and I made a review about it as well), but that doesn't mean that my opinions about the game will be altered.

I was just covering Create a Sim on this video and not live mode. And honestly, aside from the no unicorn thing (which I have said in the video to be disappointing), I find no problem with it. Sims 4 has always been doing great when it comes to sims/pets customization. As I said in the video, I'm also working on a video showcasing gameplay and that's where I have a lot to comment on. Besides, this is an overview video, not a review
