- I'm just a regular guy, with a regular life, and a silly passion for motorsports. This is a fairly typical race weekend as I pursue this journey of racing cars. Hopefully this gives you some insight into the ups and downs of a regional race weekend, and the types of struggles you might encounter. It's not all glitz and glamor like you see on TV or on other high budget RUclips channels.
What types of videos would you like to see?
Race weekend details:

Hey there! Nice video, it was a fun watch! You say you think you have LSD, but to me most obvious answer to your 5:35 behavior is an open diff. That inside wheel is unloading with very little traction, and it just lights it up. If you had LSD you'd be spinning both tires and oversteering wouldn't you? I don't own a Miata though, so what do I know 😅
You bring up a great point, I think you’re right. Thanks!
feels like an episode of TV bro!
Haa
Nice video! I do track days and auto X my Miata. I switched to LSD from open diff and in tighter corners I always spun the tires. Went back to open diff that came with car after I blew up the LSD and it and doesn't do it anymore.
Thanks for watching! Hmm, you spun wheels with the open or LSD? Which felt better in the end?
Turn 4 always feels awful for me, too. I use the throttle to induce some oversteer, but really am not back on throttle until I'm squared up to the curbing on the right. I keep it in third since T4/5 are both low traction - and saves me a shift approaching T6.
Makes sense. I’ve found 3rd is just way too sluggish for my car up the hill. Maybe I need to carry more speed 😊 the wheel spin in 2nd is just so excessive 🙄
Your LSD is either worn out (clutch-pak style) or open (*edit non-existent and an open diff). Inside wheel is spinning. Your tail end is planted, that is your first sign only one wheel is spinning. Second sign - this car is extremely unlikely to ever light up both tires that easily.
Awesome driving. Living the dream.
Too much throttle during a turn makes the rear step out in my miata and I don’t think I have an lsd? But your comment makes a lot of sense
That makes sense, thanks for shedding light on it! Good point, if both tires were spinning I wouldn’t be planted. I’ll have to investigate the diff.
This looks so fun. I wish I could afford real racing, Assetto Corsa will have to do.
I hope you get to experience it someday!
I'm enjoying these longer videos Gabe ol' boy. The narrative is very good. Well done.
Thanks JS!
5:35 would be interested to hear some ideas
Same bro
How many miles on your transmission? 2nd is definitely got issues. Might be time to get it rebuilt or get a rebuilt one. Check out ESR trans and exhausts
Good question, I’m not sure. Previous owner didn’t have that info. Wasn’t in the past two years of records though. Let’s see how it does at LR and then will evaluate options.
When are you going to finally get a truck to haul that thing?
Someone suggested I get U-Haul to sponsor me. What do you think?
